HT201272 You've already purchased this In-App Purchase

I'm trying to make a purchase inside of a game I'm playing on my iphone 5.  I've done this many times already, but yesterday I tried to make a purchase and I received the message "You've already purchased this In-App Purchase but it hasn't been downloaded."  The item I purchased is not available to me and I don't know how to download it.  In the past, when I made in-app purchases, they went through immediately.  There was no separate downloading.
I've synced my phone to iTunes on my computer and there's nothing that I purchased in need of download that I can see.
Can someone tell me how to deal with this message?

I am using consumable product so I can purchase multiple time but same problem

I've had this with games, I had to contact support via the 'problems with this app' link on the receipt & they refunded my money.

I rented a movie a few hours ago and never finished it.  I can't view it on my Apple TV nor on my Computer.  When I go to rent it again it says you have already rented this movie, but I can't find it anywhere.  How do I watch the remainder of the rental?

I had the same issue with my apple tv 3rd generation. I rented Sinister and selected the "rent and watch now" option. Half way through the movie I accidentally pressed the menu button. When I looked for the rented movie on my apple tv I could not find it. Not even above the movie pannel where "purchased" and "top movies" comes up on the main menu. the apple tv suggests to go to settings>downloads but I don't have that option. I did go to settings> itunes store> check rentals but that didnt work either. It took too long to even check. Thank you because this SOLUTION worked great.
SOLUTION: How to reset apple tv 3 3rd generation to view rented movies:on the apple tv remote: press and hold "menu" to go to the main menu. Select SETTINGS> GENERAL >RESET >RESET ALL SETTINGS. After the apple tv resets, input all your information again and your rented movies should be visible when you cruise above the "movies" section. THANK YOU!!
Apple needs to solve this issue because honestly it took me 3 hours and a half to watch a movie that only lasted 2 BECAUSE I wast trying to solve the issue, reseting and all. blahh.

I'm not sure I can make sense of this but without asking too many questions, you can resolve your question by contacting iTunes direct.

But they will be wondering about the reference to hacking and you feeling bad about getting something for free.
Best step in my view is to make sure you don't get similarly involved in future.  You must know roughly what you were doing.   Then writie it off to a not to be repeated experience.

  • 'You've already rented this but it hasn't been downloaded. Go to Downloads to manage your downloads.'

I rented a movie and I can't get it to download onto my iPad. I go into my videos, press the download icon, and I get the 'You've already rented this but it hasn't been downloaded. Go to Downloads to manage your downloads.' Pop up. The problem is, there is no 'Downloads' option, in 'Videos' or iTunes..
I tried following matt00's advice from https://discussions.apple.com/message/23950236#23950236, but again, there is no 'downloads' option in iTunes.
I then tried logging out of and back into iTunes, but to no avail, my movie still refuses to even show up in 'purchased'
How do I download my movie?

Here's the solution: contact Apple support.  They will not only refund your money but give you a credit for another rental.  Download to a computer instead of ipad.  Sync ipad with itunes.
Maybe someday Apple will fix the bug, until then, don't download directly to ipad.

  • You have already rented this item

Strange issue.  I rented a movie but before I watched it, my apple tv crashed and restarted.  Now, the rented movie does not appear and when I go back to the movie, it says "you have already rented this item but it has not been downloaded.  To download it, go to the Settings menu, select Downloads, and Check for Downloads."
Of course, when I go to the Settings menu, there is no Downloads menu.  The closest I can find is in Settings/iTunes Store/Check For Rentals.  When I do that, it just says "no additional rentals found".  So, I am not sure that I was ever billed for the rental (as this only happened last night) but it appears I have no way to actually rent and watch the movie.
    Thanks for any suggestions!

This worked for my Apple TV.
I didn't need to call Apple to reset the downalod queue for me as I reset the Apple TV by myself thru "Rest All Settings".
    1. Settings
    2. General
    3. Reset
    4. Reset All Settings
---- After Apple TV system reset and re-setup
    5. Movies
---- You should see "Rented" at the top menu bar
    6. Select your rented movie
    Hope this helps.
