All I have on my Ipod touch is a picture of an apple and a blank progress bar. What did I do?

Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

Hi, Just put phone in the recovery mode and restore to the factory settings. It should work.

Are you using iTunes 11? You really need to post back with details in situations like this. We don't know what you are doing. You have to tell us step by step what you did so we don't have to keep asking questions.
If you followed my instructions - if you see the sidebar but do not see you iPad under the devices heading - you will not see the summary button - because you have to click on your iPads name before that button appears at the top of the iTunes window.

I realize that it won't do you any good right now, but it explains how you go about using iTunes. I want to make sure that you are following all of the steps and if you still do not see your iPad you can take the next step using recovery mode. That is explained here.

I had the same problem with my iPad, i couldn't get the newer version of itunes because the computer was too old and my iPad couldnt sync with the old itunes. I got a PC from school a few months later so that solved the problem for me. Unfortunately i don't think there would be a program to put your music on your iPod, iTunes should be the only way to transfer files to Apple devices. I recommend that you
Create a NEW account/ID for her using these instructions. Make sure you follow the instructions. Many do not and if you do not you will not get the None option. You must use an email address that you have not used with Apple before.
Creating an iTunes Store, App Store, iBookstore, and Mac App Store account without a credit card
Use the new ID on her iPod but only for:
Settings>Messages>Send and Receive
Settings>FaceTime
and Settings>iCloud if you want her to have separate Contacts Calendar and some other things.
Continue to use the same/common Apple ID for Settings>iTunes and App stores so you can share purchases.

If you go to Apple, they will not replace your battery, but exchange your iPod for a refurbished iPod of the same model with a new battery. Therefore you will lose everything that is not backed up. If you change it yourself or have a third party change it, you will most likely not lose anything (but still best to make a backup as lllaass suggested).

Have you failed to regularly backup the device to iTunes or iCloud? If so, the data is gone.
If there are backups, restore the most current one from prior to the data disappearing.

Yes but it might be too slow for some purposes. Google for the instructions for setting upu your win 7 comnputer as a wifi hotspot. I Googled for:
windows 7 as wifi hotspot
and go many hits that look good.

If it it says turn off FIndMyiPhone then:
Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.
iOS: Wrong passcode results in red disabled screen
If recovery mode does not work try DFU mode.

Just use the same one on all devices.

If it's a charge though your iTunes Store account, it should be reflected in your Purchase History:

If the charges are not reflected in the Purchase History, then it's most likely a fraudulent charge to your credit card directly or your credit card number has been stolen and used by someone else in another iTunes Store account rather than an unauthorized purchase through your account. In either case it will be up to your bank to handle.

Even when I connect my iPod to my computer or an outlet, it still shows the folder and doesn't charge (well, at least it doesn't show that its charging)I don't know what to do because my computer, iTunes and the Updater doesn't show that my iPod is even connected, so I can't restore my iPod because the updater says "Please Connect iPod" when it is already connected...Iv'e tried everything i can do that the iTunes help pages say to try...but it still hasn't fixed anything!!! I'd say that the only thing you can do is send it in for repair. But, are you completly positive that you looked for the answer everywhere: MSN, Yahoo, and Google might help. Also you might want to look for a Hard Disk formatting program. This "A folder with an exclamation point."generally means that your iPod's Hard Disk is formatted in the wrong way or format. Also, try letting the battery drain out and you will loose all the data on your Hard Disk, but that may let you reformat it with the iPod Updater. Don't worry, this does not mean that a phisical error has occured with the iPod, just something wrong with the data.If that dosen't help either, it needs service.
