    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

    - If not successful that indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

BTW, you really have a 2G iPod. Apple only made 32 and 64 GB 3G iPods.

I do the Erase All Content and Settings, How can i restart my  i phone 3gs?

Reset the iPhone by holding the sleep/wake button at the top right of the device and the home button at the bottom center of the face at the same time.
Hold them both until you see the screen go black. In some cases, you may need to keep holding them even after the red power off slider appears. If it does, just keep holding it.
Wait until the white Apple logo appears.
When this happens, you can let go - the iPhone is rebooting.
An iPhone reset will not normally remove or delete any data or settings. However, the term reset is also sometimes used to mean deleting all content from the iPhone and/or restoring from a backup.

Did you get a message in iTunes that said iTunes found an iPod in recovery mode? If not then you might have not gotten the iPod in recovery mode. Try using this program to get the iPod in recovery mode:

  • Erasing all content and settings from my iPad is taking 8+ hours...

I wanted to erase all content and settings from my iPad. I started the process at 2pm and it is now 10:20pm. It has been stuck on the loading circle going round and round for more than 8 hours now... is this normal? What should I do? and is there anything that can fasten up the process. My iPad is an iPad mini 16GB WIFI white, on either iOS 7.1.1 or iOS 7.1.2 and most of the storage was taken up, is that why its taking too long?

    Hello ceburton,
After reviewing your post, it sounds like Erase All Content and Settings is taking a while to finish. I would recommend that you read this article, it may be able to help the issue.

When you select to "Erase All Content and Settings," the process can take from a few minutes to several hours. The time this process takes will vary by iOS device:

  • Erasing All Contents and Settings is taking a long time showing circle loading logo

So, I was trying to erase my phone (iPhone 4) because I'm suppose to sell it tomorrow since I have an iPhone 5 and no longer need a 4...  so I tried the "easiest" way with Erasing All Contests from the phone but it's been 3 hours and the circle is still there.
Now I've read other places where it says what to do, but my problem is the following my power button does not work at all.  So I can't press Power and Home because it isn't going to do anything.  Should I wait to see if the circle stops? Should I wait to see if the battery dies? is there any way at all to turn it off and try again?

iPhone 4 uses hareware encryption and doesn't require overwriting - should take only a few minutes.  The fact that yours is going for hours suggests the phone was hacked/jailbroken.

  • HT201274 Tried to erase all content and settings...now it won't do anything

I have a first generation iTouch and last night I selected to Erase All Content and Settings. I wanted to wipe it because I'm switching to an iPhone. The iTouch didn't have much charge so I started charging it while it was doing it's thing. Unfortunately, the iTouch doesn't do anything. When I hold down the power button, the white apple logo appears. It's been on a charger for several hours, too. When I plug it into my computer and open iTunes, the computer doesn't recognize the device.

Try connecting the device to iTunes in recovery mode and restoring it. See this article for instructions on putting your iPod into recovery mode.

  • How to Erase all Content and Settings and keeping IOS 7.06?

I'd like to participate the iPhone 5 Sleep/Wake Button Replacement Program, however than I'll have to Erase all Content and Settings and I'm afraid I'll loose IOS 7.06.

If this is anything like standard warranty service, the unit you get back will be totally refurbished, which also means having it updated to the latest iOS release. The caveat in the program description hints this:
Note: If your iPhone 5 has any damage such as a cracked screen which impairs the replacement of the sleep/wake button, that issue will need to be resolved prior to the sleep/wake button replacement. In some cases, there may be a cost associated with the repair.
Also important to ask, does your phone have a faulty button in order to qualify for the repair?  They also clearly state:
Apple will replace the sleep/wake button mechanism, free of charge, on iPhone 5 models that exhibit this issue and have a qualifying serial number.

  • HT201274 i have ipod 2nd generation and i had reset   Erase All Content and Settings it is longer than 3 hrs it is still showing apple logo and blink like if it will restart but again it shows the same logo!! is it all right with the erasing...??? i am co

For a 1G and 2G it can take hours. Make sure it is connected to a charging source otherwise the battery can fully drain before it is done. If still problem

    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • I struck on erase all content and settings ios 8.0.3

I had a jailbroken iphone 4s ios 8.0.2 and wrongly I force it in to erase all content and settings... Now Its loading with apple logo and bar for a week.
I tried hard reset, It wont let it to be normal. just restarts and loading again.
I tried recovery restore and update via itunes but both end up with "error 3194", No host file error, I already tried it.
Nevertheless I forced in to DFU mode and tried, still end up with similar errors. Note I had a Latest itunes 12.1.2.27.
I had a "ipsw" file for ios 8.1.3. I tried with this file.
My Question is if apple sever not allow to upgrade unless it is latest ios, then, does the ipsw of 8.1.3 is causing the error while there is a available ios 8.3 ?
If apple only allows latest ios to upgrade or restore, then do I needed to go for ios 8.3. does it work for sure? OR suggest me a solution for get rid of it.

If DFU mode did not work on your jailbroken phone, there is nothing more you can do, jail braking made it useless.
And due to the Terms of Use of these forums, we can't discuss this problem any further, sorry.

  • HT201274 Why is the iphone asking a passcode to Erase All Content and Settings if I never set a passcode?

I am trying to Erase All Content and Settings from my ios and it is asking for a 4 digit passcode but I dod not set any passcode for my iphone. I've reset it before and never asked now it is showing after the new IOS6 update.
Is there a default passcode or where can I get the code?
    Thanks,

If you are referring to the passcode lock you can restore the iPad by connecting it to your computer and using iTunes.
If you are being asked for your Apple ID and password you will have to enter that. No way around it.

  • HT201274 My iPad is currently on OS version 7.1.2 and has not been upgraded to 8 yet.  If I do an "Erase All Content and Settings" will iTune force an upgrade to 8?  I would like to keep the device at 7.1.2.

My iPad is currently on OS version 7.1.2 and has not been upgraded to 8 yet.  If I do an "Erase All Content and Settings" on the device will the device be forced to upgrade to 8 ?  I would like to keep the device at 7.1.2.

To Perform the Erase All Content and Settings directly on the iPad it does not need to be connected to a computer.
In fact yes, is better if its not connected to one, but simply connected to its charger, and have it plugged in. Erase All content and settings, will not update the iOS.
If you restore the iPad using iTunes on your computer with the iPad connected, then it will update to iOS 8. Because the restore will place the newest available iOS version supported by the Phone on it.
Basically disconnect the iPhone, plug it in to its charger, and the charger to the wall, and then on the iPad go to Settings->General->Reset->Erase all Content and Settings.  This will wipe clean the iPhone but will do nothing to the underlying iOS installation.
Once everything is removed, you can plug it into iTunes and sync your content back.  Do not attempt to restore from backup while connected to iTunes, as it will update the iOS version in the process. Simply sync and you should have no issues.
