HT201274 I am locked out of the iPod. It says to connect to iTunes but it won't because it is locked.....what do I do? It is an iPod touch. Tried to erase settings but we can't do anything until it is unlocked.
We have an ipod touch.... entered the wrong passcode too many times and are now locked out. Can't connect to itunes until it is unlocked....stuck...don't have any idea what to do...help!
To get the iPod to connect to iTunes you would need to put it into Recovery Mode. This will require you to restore the iPod to factory settings which will remove the content from the iPod as well as the disabled passcode.
To put your iPod into recovery mode:
1. Make sure the iPod is connected to a computer with iTunes installed on it.
2. Hold down the sleep/wake button(top button) and the home button at the same time until the iPod screen goes black then shows the apple logo( usually 10-15 seconds).
3. Once the apple logo appears on the screen, let go of the sleep/wake button and keep holding the home button.
4. A dialog box will appear in iTunes that states an iPod in recovery mode has been detected if you are successful.
5. Click ok, then click the Restore button
After that you should be up and running in no time!

actually i found out how to fix it
1 sign out of apple account
2 close down passbook app
3 change year to 2013
4 reopen passbook and sign in at the button with your apple ID
5 change the time to auto update and it should work from now on.

While updating the iPhone 5 software from 6.1.3 to 6.1.4, the power failed. iTunes had just finished the backup and was beginning the software update. Now the phone screen says to connect to iTunes but the phone is not recognised when plugged in. Using Windows 7 and phone not recognised by computer, let alone by iTunes.

This works for some users. Not sure why.
Go to Settings>General>Date and Time> Set Automatically>Off. Set the date ahead by about a year.Then see if you can connect to the store.

Call Apple Support and tell them the problem. They will most likely tell you there is something wrong with your phone but tell them to look at the Community Support Forums and to FIX the problem.
