HT201274 My ipad will not start

My ipad will not start.
I have to do a hard reboot inorder for it to turn off.
It just get the start white apple and then it restarts after a few minutes.
I also cannot access the ipad via itunes and therefore I cannot do a restore. I could access it before the problem happened.
This occured after I updated an app and did a reboot. The update never completed itself (Flipboard)
The itunes is the lastest version.

Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.

Ipad will not start

after copying photos ipad just cycles apple logo turns off & back to logo repeatedly. Have tried reset procedure still the same. Have tried to connect to itunes but because it will not start itunes does not recognise it. have tried a different laptop as well and different leeds..?? HELP i am going mad!!

Have you tried putting it into Recovery mode? See here http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1808
Not sure if success is dependant upon being recognised in iTunes!
Also, try this -
Firstly, make sure that your device is not hidden (left hand pane). If it just reads device then toggle between SHOW and HIDE.
Secondly, try all the other ports on your computer, even a number of times.
Thirdly, if you have another computer try plugging your device into it without taking any action, give it a moment, remove it and try it back in your other computer again.

after some problems with update to ios 5 my ipad 2 will not start anymore...
in itunes it is not visible - So restore is not possible... :-(((
there are only "reboots" on the ipad screen...

My iPad went dead and sat for a few days before I plugged it in. Now it will not start. It has been plugged in for 2+ days now with OEM charger. The apple logo will show for a couple seconds and it turns off. Reset DOES NOT do anything. If I unplug it, nothing happens, no apple logo, no reset, nothing. Plugged into iTunes it will not do anything. The only time I get it to show activity is plugged into charger and like I said, as soon as the logo appears it shuts down and repeats this over and over until I unplug.

See if you can have any success with recovery mode.
