HT201274 Problem erasing content on iPad

I erased the content from my old iPad in order to give to someone and it is still working on the process with that circular symbol in the middle of the screen....12 hours later. What should I do???

Try this. Reset the iPad. You might have to erase the device or restore the iOS if this allows the iPad to start up again.
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.

I am also new to CC membeship and still havent got the files cloud to work - surprisingly it not instantaneous which I think it's a shame - and maybe because of that, I have the same problem, I use an Window 7 PC and I can't get the folio to show on the Content Viewer on my Ipad. The folio looks quite allright since its been published - just for testing - on the Folio Priduction page. i tried all the suggestions above and none of them worked. I also tried to share with a friend whos CC files Cloud is already working but he could see it on the content viewer either. Please help.

I do see the folio and its published ( I dont know where but it is)

• HT201365 iPad has been stolen need to lock and erase content on ipad

My iPad was stolen. I need to lock and erase content on my ipad

Six years? Since the original iPad was released on April 3, 2010, which is less than four years in the past, your claim of six years is bogus.

• Problem Downloading Content on iPad using ios6

Every time I attempt to download an update or a new purchase on the new iPad with iOS6, it requires me to agree to the new terms agreement. I am prompted press "agree" and then "done" but the update or purchase does not download. I have attempted to download content several times and encountered the same result. It does not matter whether I'm using wifi or 4G Internet service. Has anybody else had a problem with accepting the terms agreement and downloading content from iTunes?

In thumbnail view in the Photos app you should still be able to use the Edit button at the top right of the screen to select up to 5 photos and then use the Share button top left to attach them to an email. Or within the Mail app itself you can press and hold within the body of the email after a second or two when the magnifying glass symbol appears release the screen and you should get a pop-up with one option being 'Insert Photo or Video'

• HT201274 once all content is erased how to reload new material

I have a old ipod 2nd generation touch screen. I went into settings to erase content thinking I could load with new material. Now Itunes doesn't even recognize it. I didn't think I needed to back up. How to I load material on the old girl.

Maybe this:
Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.
Apple Retail Store - Genius Bar
or
iPhone, iPad, iPod touch: Device not recognized in iTunes for Mac OS X
Also. many developers when they updated their apps to support iOS 5 and 6 dropped compatibility for iOS 4.2.1 and earlier.
Your only way is if you have the version that was compatible on your computer such as in the recycle bin/trash or in a computer file backup. In that case delete the current version that is in your iTunes App library and replace it with the older version. Then sync.

• HT201274 when contents are erased, is this a one-time action or is it possible to perform erase contents multiple times?

is "erase contents" a one-time action or can it be performed multiple times?

If the "new user"/thief restores the device as new, which he or she will have to do in order to get the iPad up and running, it will not be your iPad anymore anyway, because they will set it up with their own ID and you wouldn't be able to track it a second time.
Find My iPad/iPhone would be tied to your Apple ID. They will no longer be using your ID on their "new" iPad.

• While trying to restore os x and erase content, some problem about voice software came up and the computer asked me to restart and try again by clicking restart button. When I did this, the machine went to a gray start up screen and will not progress.

While trying to restore os x and erase content on my MacBook pro, some problem about voice software came up and the computer asked me to restart and try again by clicking restart button. When I did this, the machine went to a gray start up screen with an apple and will not progress. I've waited more than 30 minutes and tried restarting again by holding the power button. Also, restore cd 1 will not eject so the computer will no longer move past the gray screen with spinning circle. Restore CDs had never beeused and were still in packaging in the original box. Ran hardware test just to check, and it came back as normal. Now what? I live nowhere near a genius bar :(

computer asked me to restart and try again by clicking restart button.
That's called a kernel panic...
Since the install disc won't eject, try starting up while holding down the C key. If the Mac won't boot while holding down the C key, try ejecting disc by either holding down the mouse while starting up or holding down the Eject key while starting up.
Try booting from your install disc so you can run Disk Utility in case the startup disk needs repairing.
Insert your install disk and Restart, holding down the "C" key until grey Apple appears.
Go to Installer menu and launch Disk Utility.
(In Mac OS X 10.4 or later, you must select your language first from the installer menu)
Select your HDD (manufacturer ID) in the left panel.
Select First Aid in the Main panel.
(Check S.M.A.R.T Status of HDD at the bottom of right panel. It should say: Verified)
Click Repair Disk on the bottom right.
If DU reports disk does not need repairs quit DU and restart.
If DU reports errors Repair again and again until DU reports disk is repaired.
When you are finished with DU, from the Menu Bar, select Utilities/Startup Manager.
Select your startup disk and click Restart
While you have the Disk Utility window open, look at the bottom of the window. Where you see Capacity and Available. Make sure there is always 15% free space.

• HT201274 Erasing content and settings

I just upgraded my iPhone to iPhone 5 and let my relative use my former iPhone 4. I just want want to make sure if erasing contents and settings in the reset command is the right one if I intend to retain the apps and media content in the phone.

1. Your friend cannot use your apps as they will be tied to your AppleID.
2. Erasing contents and contents and settings wipes the whole phone.

• Once I push Back up now button I can see the content is backing up on iCloud but even after 10 hours of exercise the content on iPad are not backed up

To back up my content on iPad, I go to cloud notification and then backup & storage> backup now.
After connected to Wi-Fi network and power plugged I give backup now command and iPad content seems to me getting backed up but even after 10 hours of exercise I fail to get content backed up on iCloud
Why so? Am I missing some step to initiate backup now process?
Please educate me or inform me how to fix this problem

I found the answer in another discussion group, so I have just erased everything through settings on my new iphone and in Backups on itunes, I have clicked on restore back up. So it appears to be working.

• Is there a way to erase contents in cells more than one, without deleting the formatted background?

When using Numbers on iPad (Numbers '09, v2.3 on iPad, iOS v6.1.3), I want to erase contents in an area with more than 1 cell, e.g. 10 cells, without erasing/deleting the formatted background colour.
Using a right click on cells using Numbers on a Mac (Mac, OS X v10.8.4) you can differentiate between "delete content of cell" (where the background is maintained) and "delete all" (where both the content AND the background is deleted).
Please, I need help.
Kindly,
Henning154

Just select the cells you want to delete and hit the delete button.
That works on my machine (Macbook Pro).
The background remains unchanged.

You will need to restore your device as New to remove a Restrictions passcode. Go through the normal process to restore your device, but when you see the options to restore as New or from a backup, be sure to choose New.
You can restore from a backup if you have one from BEFORE you set the restrictions passcode.

• Erasing content

Hi
I have bought a new iPad and want to delete everything off my old iPad and then start again by setting up a new account for my mum (I think she will find it easier than her Samsung Galaxy Tab!). If I erase everything on the old iPad under General, Reset, Erase All Content and Settings - will this ONLY erase the old iPad - i.e. leave the new one with all my apps? Once this is done, is there anything else I need to do - e.g. In Apple Support (given that I can only see my iPhone in Support - neither iPads are showing).
Thank you!

You are most welcome

• Problems with the new iPad and Joikuspot premium after iOS 6

Hi,
I'm experiencing serious problems with my new iPad after last iOS update. Usually I was connecting to the internet through Joikuspot premium on Nokia mobile phone (E6). I was able to do everything, https sites surfing, absolutely everything with no exceptions.
Now, after iOS 6 update, I can't connect to https sites, google+, sync calendar etc.
I've tried to change connection criteria on joikuspot but nothing. The fact is also that other devices as laptop or other smartphones are still working perfectly, in any case, sharing the wi-fi connection created by joikuspot.
Finally the problem is 100% due to the iPad and the new iOS.
disappointing, amateur for such a device... (iPad I mean).
Any help?
Many many thanks
Vittorio
