HT201302 Cannot find my device

When I open "my computer" it does not show my device, but I can see it in iTunes. It shows it's connected and I can access it in iTunes, but cannot find the device anywhere else. What can I do? How can I find my device so I can get pictures off of it?

Have you tried resetting your phone then plugging it in?

• Upgrade to K7N2 - Win2K cannot find bootable device

I just tried upgrading my system to a K7N2. When Win2K loads (during the white logo'ed screen with the progress bar) it gives a BSOD with something like "Cannot find bootable device" (I forget the exact phrase). I've had to swap back to my previous MB and Win2K is fine so the disk isn't corrupt which was my first worry.
If I booted to DOS via floppy, all FAT32 partitions were readable. If I booted using the Win2K floppies, all NTFS partitions looked fine.
I beleive I have the HDD Access mode set correctly - it was set to LRG on my old system. (If I set it to anything else, it will just hang before Win2k loads).
I guess (or rather hope) its a BIOS setting that's wrong, but I can't figure out which.
This has got me stumped. Any clues/suggestions would be gratefully received.

AthlonXP 2100+
512MB PC2700
IBM 46GB HDD (IBM-DTLA-307045)
GeForce 4200Ti

Uninstall the IDE controllers in the system device managers page..............reboot and install M$ reference ide contollers check them and see if that is so.....if not then you will have to manually install them...........save and exit........place the hddrive back on the other mb and see if that will get you into widows.......from there you can update the ide controllers from the MSI cd.....
If all else fails boot the system to the windows cd and do a windows repair of the systems HAL (Hardware Abstraction Layer)
skip the ASR and go to repair................ navigate to the c:windows> prompt, and type..............(example here e: is the cdrom drive where the windows cd is loaded and c: is the drive you have windows running on.)
copy e:i386hal.dl_ c:windowssystem32

I have an iPhone 4S that is locked with a password & cant remember password. when I connect to my computer it says that it cannot find the device driver. How can i fix this?

Hello jlb1977,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
For more information on this, take a look at:
iOS: Forgotten passcode or device disabled after entering wrong passcode
http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1212
place the device in recovery mode and restore it to erase the device:
Disconnect the USB cable from the device, but leave the other end of the cable connected to your computer's USB port.
Turn off the device: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for the device to shut down.
While pressing and holding the Home button, reconnect the USB cable to the device. The device should turn on.
Continue holding the Home button until you see the Connect to iTunes screen.
iTunes will alert you that it has detected a device in recovery mode. Click OK, and then restore the device.
Best of luck,
Mario

• [SOLVED] cannot find root device after pacman -Syu

Today I had a problem after pacman -Syu. Of course, my problem stemmed from not paying attention to the following (from https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=57205):
Read pacman's output while upgrading.
I could no longer boot. I received a message "cannot find root device" or something similar indicating a device with the appropriate UUID had not been found and I was being dropped into a recovery shell, then, when I typed exit, an emergency shell, followed shortly by a freeze.
After some investigation it appeared my initramfs was broken/non-existent/something after the install. I booted into a live CD and found that updating pacman again, and mkinitcpio -p linux both displayed the following error: "Failed to create temporary working directory in /tmp". Long story short: mktemp was segfaulting. This should be extremely easy to check if you're having a similar problem. I replaced it with the version on the live CD and ran the pacman update again. Success. If you do this, you may need to make sure your live cd architecture and installed kernel architecture are the same.
I'm not sure of the etiquette here, so I'm posting this in case someone else has the same problem I did; and benefits from a similar solution. I have checked the etiquette post and I don't think it's clear whether it's kosher to post things that don't actually require a solution. However, if I have misinterpreted the rules/etiquette and/or this type of post is considered extraneous please remove it.

You have to use lvm first. As all those vg*, lv*, and pv* commands are actually links to the lvm command, you should have to do something like "lvm vgscan" instead of just "vgscan".
Edit: oh and at that point in the boot process, you are actually in the initramfs still (ash to be specific).
Edit2: I was having issues with a USB keyboard and a new machine (actually just a new bios), and found out that because of windows 8's requriement for a fast POST, the default is to turn off the scanning for usb devices. Though this was for UEFI, and I am not sure if the same would apply for a bios booting machine...

I have upgraded to Mavericks but cannot find my devices on Maps when I create directions.

Dick,
You should be looking in the Mavericks forum, Maps is integrated into Mavericks so you will probably find some clues there. Also here is an article you may find useful:

• Random cannot find root device at boot

Every so often when I boot my arch install I get the error saying that it cannot find my root device. After a reboot sometimes everything is fine other times it will will repeat. It seems to be about a 40-60 chance that the error will occur. This same issue is also happening with a co-worker. I began to notice this issue when I upgraded my laptop with an SSD which my co-worker also has. I am beginning to wonder if it is related to the SSD because I have not had this issue until then. Anyone have any ideas?

Welcome to the Arch Linux forums.
In order to get proper support for your issues, you need to be much more explicit about your problems. An inability to find the root device can be caused by all kinds of things. So simply saying that you switched to an SSD and started to experience these problems is really not anything to go on. You need to also give a description of how your system is actually set up. That is, how is it partitioned? Is it the only OS on the machine? Do you use LVM, mdadm, Luks/dm-crypt, btrfs, etc?
These forums are quite active and there are all kinds of people here who are willing to help. But you have to help us help you. We cannot see your machine, and the very nature of Arch Linux brings about vast differences in how each individual machine is configured.

• ISync cannot find any device

Since a certain point in time (cannot remember exactly when, but it must have been 1-2 months ago) iSync does not show the phones I have configured (Nokia E72, 6300, N73, 6021). When I try to add them again, iSync stats looking for devices, but really gives up quickly (< 1 sec) and starts the Bluetooth app to find/add new devices. All mentioned devices are already known by the system, as they show up in the Bluetooth menu. I added my phone again E72), nut iSYnc still does not see it.
My guess is that there is no problem with the bluetooth connection, but iSync is having trouble finding a device.
I already repaired the permissions on the disk, but that didn't make any difference.
How can I get iSync working again?

Did not work either. I finally solved it myself. I restored the iSYnc app from the Time Machine backup. I also reinstalled the plugin for the Nokia E72 et voila ... it worked again.
I think that an action from the tool "CleanMyMac" caused the problem. I compared the corrupted app folder with the restored one and saw that there were language files missing. Maybe more was deleted by this tool, but I stopped searching for the cause. I am happy now that it works again.
Thnks for your time!

• X300: bluetooth blue on taskbar but cannot find any device (stack error)

Hello, most likely after installing SP3 or the latest Access connections file, 7xcx23ww.exe, I am unable to connect to any bluetooth device.
the latest Bluetooth with Enhanced data rate software for xp 5.5.0.6400 has been applied, as well as Microsoft Bluetooth Support file for Bluetooth with Enhanced Data Rate for Windows XP, ver 2.0 .
Is there something i am missing here? The task bar shows the Bluetooth icon in blue, but it cannot find any local bluetooth device.

Apple claims the iphone supports bluetooth tethering for the hotspot, did I recieve some incorrect information? Also the hotspot is less than ideal. It rarely appears on my 2011 macbook or my wife's iphone. Any help with this stuff other than Apple is behind the 8 ball

• I have lost my iphone and do not know the serial number and cannot find the device on itunes

I am in Spain and have lost my iphone. How do I track it

What To Do If Your iDevice or Computer Is Lost Or Stolen
iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPad
If you activated Find My Phone before it was lost or stolen, you can track it only if Wi-Fi is enabled on the device. What you cannot do is track your device using a serial number or other identifying number. You cannot expect Apple or anyone else to find your device for you. You cannot recover your loss unless you insure your device for such loss. It is not covered by your warranty.
If your iPhone, iPod, iPod Touch, or iPad is lost or stolen what do you do? There are things you should have done in advance - before you lost it or it was stolen - and some things to do after the fact. Here are some suggestions:
This link, Re: Help! I misplaced / lost my iPhone 5 today morning in delta Chelsea hotel downtown an I am not able to track it. Please help!, has some good advice regarding your options when your iDevice is lost or stolen.
