HT201302 I cant import my photos

My computer was stolen, along with all my documents. The only photos I have left are on my phone, they are not pictures I have taken with my iphone, but photos that I had uploaded onto my phone from my computer before it was stolen. My phone is being replaced and I am trying to copy the photos from my old phone onto my new computer. iphoto and imagecapture only are copying the photos I have taken with my phone, and do not recongize the old photos on my phone. How can I access these photos to copy them on my new MacBook Pro?

  • Cant import my photos on pc

hi I'm having trouble syncing my iPhone 4 to PC running windows 7. Since updating to the latest version of iTunes and updating to ios5 I cant import my photos when I plug in my iPhone it says in iTunes that it is syncing and it goes through the 8 steps showed in the status bar in iTunes including the importing photos stage. but my photos are still not appearing on my computer. before the update when I plugged in the phone windows popped up a window importing photos and would do it automatically . I would  appreciate any help as this is driving me up the wall!!!! again thanks in advance

I would caution against "always do" and leave it uncheced. Otherwise when you connect iPod etc device it may not - did not for me - show up in iTunes anymore. That is more of a warning.
I would though consider backup, uncheck all the content you do sync, and resetting. And then sych media content back - one at a time, until you have it the way you need to.
Maybe even remove aside the iTunes backup data and do a fresh backup iPod to iTunes first.

  • I am using lightroom 4 and i cant import my photos because their paths contains blackslashes (499)

i am using lightroom 4 and i cant import my photos because their paths contains blackslashes (499)
can yotell me what is this and why its doing this and how i can fix it

Does the path contain a backslash. If so, change it.   It would help to show the path you are trying to import from.  You could try changing the file handling setting in Preferences to the second setting where backslash is considered illegal and is replaced.  Its probably better to just not use these characters anyway.

  • HT201302 How to importing personal photos and videos from iOS devices to my computer with Windows 8?

myHow to importing personal photos and videos from iOS devices to  computer with Windows 8?
Nothing indicating iPhone 4s folder for images and videos in Win 8 anymore after plugged in USB cable to PC with the iPhone 4s. Nothing pop up anymore asking if I want to backup photos  / videos to my PC (used to pop up in Win 7).
Where can I find this folder in iPhone 4s?
    Thks!!

You can do it via your computer's iTunes. If you are on iTunes 11 on your computer then you may want to re-enable the left-hand sidebar via View > Show Sidebar (option-command-S on a Mac, control-S on a PC), which might make it easier to navigate and my instructions may make more sense.
To sync photos, connect and select your iPad on the left-hand side of your computer's iTunes (if you've enabled the sidebar), and on the right-hand side there should be a series of tabs, one of which should be Photos - if you select that tab you can then select which photo folders to sync to the iPad. There is a bit more info on this page. You will need to sync all the photos that you want on the iPad together in one go as only the most recent photo sync remains on the iPad - synced photos can't be deleted directly on the iPad, instead they are deleted by not including them in the next photo sync.
If you haven't enabled the sidebar, then from your library click 'iPad' at the top right of the screen and you should get a series of buttons along the top of the screen, including one for Photos

  • HT201302 when i import my photos to my pc they come in sideways? why

when i import my photos to my pc they come up sideways. why, and how to fix it?

Arron2654: It's a problem with apple's camera and the data it saves about the orientation of the picture as well as the reading of that information by non-Apple/Adobe software. I've just been trying to sort this out for one of my users (who recently updated to IOS 4.2 something, which is when the problem started, and then to IOS 5.1, which didn't solve it) and I've found that - at  least if you're using IOS 5 - you edit the photo just a smidge and re-save it, it imports and emails fine. PITA, really, but it does work. (I've got an iPhone 3G still running IOS 4.1.2 and don't have this problem, btw).  My go-to method is a very slight cropping of the image.  Hope this helps a bit!

  • Suddenly can't import any photos into iPhoto!

Suddenly and inexplicably, I cant import any photos into my iPhoto program. iPhoto has worked fine for years. Now, all of a sudden, no matter how I try to import them (either from my desktop, or from my digital camera), I get the error message: Couldn't create: /Volumes/name of external drive/iPhoto Library/2006/08/21/name of photo. When I click "OK" on the error message dialogue box, I then get the error message "Unreadable files: 1 The following files could not be imported (they may be an unrecognized file type or the files may not contain valid data)." I am reasonably certain that of the 250 or so J-Peg photos I'm presently trying to import, from 2 different cameras, ALL of them can't be corrupt.
First, I tried repairing my disk permissions on my G4. Then, I tried reinstalling iLife 5.0.2. Then I tried reinstalling the OSX 10.3.9 combo pack, and iPhoto 5.0.4. Then I tried again repairing my disk permissions with disk utility. All proved useless to solve the problem.
I also tried dragging my iPhoto preferences to the trash. But I found to my horror that this action completely obliterates all of my iPhoto albums and photo groupings. I did not attempt to import any new photos once I discovered this, as I was fearful doing so might render my loss of my albums permanent. So I retrieved my old preferences from the trash, thus saving my albums and groupings, but also keeping the original importing problem.
What can I do to fix this importing problem without obliterating my albums and groupings? Lots of work has gone into the grouping and categorizing of my albums and photos. Though it would be easy to reimport all of my photos, I would not want to begin to take the time to recreate all of my albums and groupings from scratch. Is there any way these groupings can be preserved? If not, there should be! It's idiotic to think that Apple might not consider all of the time the grouping of albums and songlists represents to the typical user of iPhoto or iTunes.
Any help you can give would be greatly appreciated. Cheers!

I've found a solution to this problem, thankfully. But it didn't come via rebuilding the iPhoto library.
I didn't want to to a manual rebuild of my original iPhoto library, since I was cautioned that it would involve losing my albums and all notations and filings I'd made concerning my photos. Before I first tinkered with the library, I made a backup copy of the original-defective library onto another external drive. Then I did one more complete "automatic rebuild" of the original/defective library, and found to my horror that the library wouldn't even open any more. It would send up an error message when I'd try to click on it's icon to open the library.
I went back to the backup copy of my iPhoto library (containing all of my albums, groupings, and etc.) and did what I hadn't thought to do in the first place: I simply attempted to import photos (my original difficulty) into this backup iPhoto library. It worked perfectly!!! All photos imported into this backed up copy as if it were the original. And now that I have trashed my "original" and totally defective former iPhoto library, this backup copy is now my new iPhoto library.
I guess whatever was wrong with the old library was shaken out just by making a backup copy. I'm afraid that's about as technical an explanation as I can offer. But maybe doing the same process will help another of you suffering from a similar problem with importing photos. Anyway, a hearty thanks to everyone who responded to this original query of mine. Mac users are truly the best!!! Cheers!

  • I'm trying to import photos from my iphoto library, but keep getting a message saying I cant import from 7.1.5, that I need to upgrade to 7.1.5 or later.  But I have version 8.1.2.  I don't know what to do. I've been able to import in the past.

Sounds like an issue with the iPhoto Library
    Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Rebuild iPhoto Library Database from automatic backup.
    If that fails:
    Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one. .

  • I want to restore my photos from icloud i had ipod touch .. Thats stolen right now so i bought i pod mini but cant get my photo back by using icloud i can get apps back thats not important i could find apps the important was my photos :(

Hello there i had i pod touch .. Thats stolen and i had many photo on that device so i bought an ipad mini now but i cant get my photos backk i only can restore my apps .. That is not important cus i could download them again the important is getting back my photos i tryed every thing and still couldnt get the photos back only i getting the aps .. Any help :-s ?

The backup of your iPod Touch would include your camera roll photos.  Restoring the backup to another iPod Touch or iPhone would recover them.  Photos will not be restored by restoring the backup to an iPad.
Note: Apple deletes iCloud backups after 180 days of inactivity so be sure to do this before then.

  • Cant import photos from EOS400D after upgrading on Lightroom 1.2

    Hi,
After I upgrade my Lightroom to version 1.2 I cant import photos from my Canon EOS 400D.
If I go File Import from device... this option is grayed and cant be chose.
If I click on Import button on Library panel, window with EOD 400D button shows but after I click on it, message No photos were found to import shows.
Anyone knows how to solve this problem?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Richard,
I've checked my Preferences. On Import tab checkbox beside Treat JPEG files next to raw files as separate photoswas unchecked. If checked result is same, Lightroom imports only jpeg's.
    Any other suggestion?
    Thanks,
    Bojan

    Hey Bakak,
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
I understand that you keep getting a message to authorize your computer when trying to transfer applications to your iPhone. Here is an article on things that may cause this. I suspect that the section "Authorize using the correct account name" may be most relevant. It is possible that you have multiple Apple IDs and iTunes accounts.

  • HT201302 can only import photos

When the thing pops up, it only asks if I want to import photos; it does not say import photos and videos. Is there something wrong with my ipod?

It also imports videos too. Sounds like you computer capture programs just does not say that.
If you have problem, go to My Comnputer>iPod>DCIM folder and get the videos.

  • HT201302 How to import photos that are imported from itunes back to iphoto?

I had imported photos from Itunes( Iphoto ) to my iphone and i deleted all the photos in Iphoto. Now I wanted to control some of the photos but I can't! If I sync photos again, all the photos will be gone. So I wanted to import the photos in my Iphone back to Iphoto. Anyone knows how?

The iTunes transfer process for photos from your computer is a one way transfer process only. Photos transferred from your computer are optimized for viewing on the iPhone - the original resolution is changed/lowered, which is why transferring these photos in the opposite direction is not supported.
There are some 3rd party paid utilities that provide for transferring these photos in the opposite direction but the original resolution of these photos deleted from your computer will be lost and the 3rd party utilities are not supported by Apple.

Thank you for the link, sadly one of the last suggestions finally helped solved the problem.
