HT201302 Why can't subscribe to iTunes Match ?

Not enough memory to update to ios7 so bought extra storage on the cloud to transfer my music & free up some space. When I click on "iTunes match" to transfer it, the screen won't display properly (looks like a word doc from 1976)! I've repeatedly clicked on subscribe but nothing happens

You can, but since iTunes Match is a subscription service you must also have a permanent form of payment associated with your account. A credit card is required.

I do not own a computer. I bought an iPad. ALL my music is stored on it. How can I subscribe to iTunes Match?

If you are in the US then your iTunes purchased music should be in the cloud for redownloading in the Purchased tab in the iTunes store app - but music can be removed from the store at any point by the record companies (and similarly for other content types as well), so you shouldn't rely on being able to redownload it in the future.
Do you have access to a computer e.g. a friend or family member that you could use ?

Do you have another device (eg a computer) that also contains your music? If so, yes, you can turn off iTunes match and sync everything with a cable. Do you tend to buy new music from downloads or ripping CDs? If downloads, you can turn on "download purchases automatically" on the phone to make them available to you there, once you've cable-synced your current library. If CDs, you would have to manually sync with cable (or over local wifi) each time you add a new CD.

can i subscribe to iTunes match without a credit cart

"Note: You may use store credit to pay for your iTunes Match subscription however a valid payment method must still be on file at the time of sign up. "
So you'll need a credit card on file even if you wish to use a prepaid card for the actual cost.

  • HT204146 How can I subscribe to iTunes Match and have all of my 7,000+ songs on my iPhone?

I bought a 128GB iPhone so I would have room for all my music. Now it's not actually there because I subscribe to iTunes Match. I don't want to have to download it over wifi/cell to listen to it. Should I just unsubscribe from iTunes Match? I don't use if very often.

  • Why can I not access iTunes Match on my MacBook Pro?

I want to subscribe to iTunes Match, but when I click on the 'Match' tab in iTunes 11.1 it just shows 'iTunes Match' and none of the descriptive text I have seen previously.  I have seen this as much as two days ago, and now it's not there.  It seems like all links are broken as when I click 'Subscribe' from the web it does nothing and clicking 'Turn On iTumes Match' frm the iTunes menu does nothing.
I've tried restarting with no success.  I am on a 2011 MacBook Pro, running OSX 10.8.5.

Try tapping on your id in Settings > iTunes & App Store on your iPad and log out of your account and then log back in and see if the store's pages then show. If if doesn't then you could try closing the iTunes store app via the iPad's multitasking bar and see if it works when you re-open it, and/or try a soft-reset.

  • Why can't I renew iTunes Match with store credit?

Is Apple serious? I need a credit card to renew my iTunes Match service, even though I have over $200 worth of store credit sitting in my account?
I don't have a credit card, I don't want one. I don't understand why I can't use my store credit to renew my iTunes Match subscription.

As it's a subscription model and not a one-time charge, having a credit card on file is required, but it will only actually be charged if there isn't enough iTunes Store credit to pay for the renewal.

  • Why can't I see iTunes Match?

    Hi,
I have installed latest updates on Macbook and iPad, but can't see iTunes Match icon anywhere.
Are there any territorial restrictions (I'm living in Europe) or what? I checked some tips and when it shall appear, I don't have it.
    Thanks for help,
    Michal

iTunes Match is only available in the U.S. for now. Apple is most likely still working on negotiating contracts with the relevant rights holders for other parts of the world.

No. You can only subscribe to iTunes Match from your "home" store.

  • Since subscribing to iTunes match my ipad2 no longer offers the AirPlay option on the volume bar within Music, rendering my bowers Wilkins speakers useless for both iTunes and spotify. Why is this and how can I fix it?

Since subscribing to iTunes match my ipad2 no longer offers the AirPlay option on the volume bar within Music, rendering my bowers Wilkins speakers useless for both iTunes and spotify. Why is this and how can I fix it?
Apple made no mention of this being an expected issue, so I can only assume it's unintentional. Otherwise I wouldn't have subscribed to Match in the first place!

How big is your library?  I would recommend the following troubleshooting steps:
    - Backup your library.  Always a good idea before messing with things.
    - Create a new library.   Refer to this article for details:  http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1589.  This won't delete your old library, you're just creating a new empty one.  Also refer to this article to get back to your old library later.
    - Add a few albums into this new library.  Not everything, just a small sampling, as a test.
    - Activate Match on this new library.  You shouldn't have to re-pay, it should just say "Add Computer" or similar.
    - At this point, Match should run again. With just a few albums it should complete in just a few minutes.
If iTunes doesn't crash at this point, then likely there's something about your original library that Match doesn't like - what that is I don't know, but at least you'll know it's not your PC.   If iTunes still crashes, then if could be a number of other things, but probably not your library.   My next suggestion (if you haven't already done this) is to uninstall / reinstall iTunes.   If that doesn't work, then my next ideas you won't like.

  • I subscribe to iTunes match but don't use it on my iPhone. Is that why I get ads on the iPhone? Can I fix that or do I have to turn on iTunes Match?

I subscribe to iTunes match but don't use it on my iPhone. Is that why I get ads on the iPhone? Can I fix that or do I have to turn on iTunes Match?

I meant to indicate that I was trying to use iTunes Radio and that is where i get theads. Can i get rid of them becuase I subscribe to iTunes Match?

  • HT204406 Why am I hearing ads on iTunes Radio?  I subscribe to iTunes Match.  Can Apple fix this?

I've been hearing ads when listening to iTunes Radio on my laptop (Windows 7, iTunes 12.0.1.26).  I subscribe to iTunes Match. With one of the iTunes updates, the ads came back for some reason.  Is there an option that I'm missing to turn off the ads?  I had everything working before the update to iTunes 12.
    Thanks,
    Keith

    - In iTunes, Store/View Account navigate to the Account Information section
    - In the iTunes in the Cloud section, click Manage Devices
    - Under Manage Devices, remove all devices and click Done
    - Once the devices are removed, log out of the account
    - Open iTunes Preferences, go to Advanced, and click Reset Warnings and Reset Cache
    - Quit iTunes and restart the computer
    - Reopen iTunes, log into the account, listen to iTunes Radio

  • My daughter and I use the same PC. We have seperate iTunes accounts. . When I subscribed to iTunes Match all her music appeared on my iPhone. What can I do to resolve this

My daughter and I use the same PC for downloading onto iTunes
    We have different iTunes accounts
Mine has far less content than hers as you'd expect
My iPhone only showed the music held in my account until I subscribed to iTunes Match At that point all her music loaded onto my iPhone
Why? and what do I do to resolve this please?

iTunes Match is associated with a specific Apple Id. If you use the same Id to enable iTunes Match on your IOS device you will see the same Songs.
Once iTune Match is enabled on a device (your shared computer for example), Apple cares about not allowing another Apple Id to be associated with that same device for a period of 90 days.  Thus having more than one Apple Id associated with a single device to support multiple active iTunes Match subscriptions is simply not supported.
Whilst your music would be combined, you can from a single device associate more than one library with iTunes Match - until you can access separate devices this is perhaps the best compromise.
