HT201303 my iphon has been lost .. can i stop it or know where it is

may iphon has been lost ... can i stop it or know where it is

If you had "Find My iPhone" enabled in Settings > iCloud then you may be able to locate it. If not, you cannot locate it. If it was enabled then you can try locating it via http://icloud.com on a computer or the App "Find My iPhone" on another iDevice. Note: this will only work if your device is connected to a network and the device hasn't already been restored as new and/or "Find My iPhone" has not been disabled on it. Note: Disabling "Find My iPhone" is much more difficult in iOS 7.
If you think that your device was stolen rather than lost then you should report it to the police. In either case you should contact your carrier, change your iTunes account password, your email account passwords, and any passwords that you'd stored on websites/emails/notes etc.

my iphone has been lost in my house and i need to find a way to track it and its offline. it wont connect to the internet so there isnt a way to use find my iphone. i just want to play a sound on it. is there any way i can get a app that connects my ipod from a laptop or a different way to find it.

If your phone is offline, the ONLY way to find it is to look for it the old fashioned way.  Your phone CANNOT be located electronically if it's offline.

my iphone has been lost in spain what can I do besides make a complaint to the police and lock it with the located iphone ?

The only way to locate/disable/erase any lost/stolen iPhone/iPod Touch is through Find My Phone or a similar app. However, this requires that Find My Phone be setup/activated, on your phone, before it was lost/stolen. You would then login at iCloud.com & try to locate it. This requires the phone be turned on & have an Internet connection. There is no other way to locate a lost/stolen iPhone. Apple can't/won't help you, nor will your carrier. Report the loss to the Police, your carrier & Insurance company. Change all of your passwords.
If your carrier offers Blacklisting & they Blacklist the phone, it will be unusable as a phone.
If locked with a passcode, all a thief or whoever finds it has to do is force the phone into recovery mode & restore it. While this deletes all data on the phone, it also removes the passcode so the phone can then be used as a phone or touch.

This is a user-to-user technical support forum. No one is going to call you from here.
If you had Find My iPhone enabled, you can go to www.icloud.com and see if you can locate the phone, put it in lost mode or erase it as appropriate. If you never enabled Find My iPhone, you will need to look for the phone yourself.

If you turned on Find My iPhone before it was stolen, then you can track it on icloud.com in a browser or the Find My iPhone app on iOS. Otherwise, you can't do anything.

You will only be able to track your iPad if you have find my iPhone active and the iPad is connected to a network.

  • All the data from the Iphone has been lost

My sister has been using her Iphone for a couple of weeks but has not plugged it in to her computer.
when she did the computer asked he to restore it so she did and has lost all of her data.
I have restored her contacts from the sim card but can't work out how to get the photos and Apps back.
Is this possable can anyone help
    cheers Jack

The photos are very likely gone.
The iphone is designed to be sycned to the computer regularly.  The iphone store nothing to the SIM card.
Pics taken with iphone should be imported to the computer regularly as with any digital camera.
    Apps can be redownloaded:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store

  • Mail has been tampered with and I don't know where to look

I have a client who is going through a divorce and her soon to be ex-husband has tampered with her email on her Apple computer. She is running 10.5.2 and using the standard mail client. She noticed when she opens an email the email is forwarded automatically. No rules have been setup. There are no traces of the mail in the outbox or the sent messages folder yet she recieved some bounce messages saying emails weren't accepted due to virus/spam blocks. Where can I look to stop this forwarding action or what software would do this ? What logs can I look at ?

    I see two possibilities here:
    1. The situation is incidental. Do the messages she's getting the supposed bounce notifications for match ones she's actually received? The reason I put this first is that it wouldn't make sense to forward email to an address that's going to bounce, if the point is to spy on the emails. That would bring such activity to someone's attention immediately. If it doesn't seem to be happening to all messages, its likely this is actually the result of a spamming or phishing operation of some sort. Spammer spoof known valid email addresses, and thus you get bounces for messages you've never sent. A phishing tactic to harvest email accounts to use for spam has you get a supposed bounce notification, then you are offered a link to log in. The link of course does not lead to the actual mail site, and you provide your credentials to access the account which are then stolen.
    2. If the mail is being forwarded, it has been set up at the provider end, and not at the local computer. Most webmail providers now offer forwarding service, especially Gmail. If one were to have access to the account credentials, or even just one time were able to access the account from the person's computer, they could set up the forwarding with the email provider. Nothing would be required on the target's computer, and nothing there would be changed.

  • My iphone has been lost ....please can u track where is it.the device is in off state..please notify me n thanks a lot..

please tell me where is that cell..i m in tension sir..

Goonzs, please note you are not addressing Apple here.  This is a user forum.
Moreover, Apple cannot track your iPhone, but please note that if the power is off the iPhone cannot be tracked.
Change all your passwords to items that are on your iPhone, report the stolen iPhone to the police and to you carrier.  Some carriers will blacklist the iPhone's imei number so that it cannot be reconnected to that network.
If you had Find my iPhone enabled on the iPhone, you could try to locate it through iCloud but the phone needs to be powered ON and connected to the Internet to be found.

  • I found an Iphone 4s and it says this iphone has been lost and erased, log in as previous owner. I don't know who the previous owner is.

I found an Iphone 4 and i attempted to give it to the person who worked at the gas station but he said I dont care, just keep it. I brought it home and it suddenly returned to the setup screen. I tried setting it up to try and find the owner but it says "This IPhone was lost and erased. Sign in with the Apple ID that was used to erae this IPhone." The problem is i have no idea who this phone belongs to or how to find that person. What should i do?

Turn it over to the police, or if you can identify the carrier, to the carrier it was being used on.

  • I've recently had to have my hard drive replaced which means my itunes has been lost can i transfere whats i have on my itouch back onto my new itunes??

      can anyone help??

    Transfer iTunes purchases by:
iTunes Store: Transferring purchases from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to a computer
    - Transfer other music by using a third-party program like one of those discussed here:
Copy music from Ipod to new computer...: Apple Support Communities
    - Make a backup of the iPod by connecting to the computer and right clicking on the iPod under Devices in iTunes and selecting Backup
    - Restore the iPod from backup.

  • Please my iphone has been stolen can i find it

Please i need a way to find my iphone

If you had activated Find My iPhone prior to the device being stolen, then go to www.icloud.com and log in. Select your device and see if it locates. The device has to be powered on and connected to the internet, either by wi-wi or cellular to locate.
Did you have a passcode on the device? If not, then send a lock command via iCloud. It will initiate if the device is connected, or when it gets connected again if the device is powered off. Report the theft to the local police and your carrier. If you had iOS 7 on the device as you indicate in your profile, the thief will not be able to activate the device. It will be useless to them.
