I want to be able to locate my teen from his phone,see who and what he is texting and I also want to know if I can block text and phone calls at certain times of the day?

Install 'find my iphone' to locate. There are security/parental settings on the phone that you can change, but I am not sure about limiting times that text/calls can be made. Call your cell phone carrier - they may have more options for that...

I checked the wrong box on for a website I use frequently and now recieve the message "Access to xpcom is denied. Set "signed.applets.codebase_principal_support=true" in about:config"; how can I change this?

I am tech challenged. I know this is probably a setting that just needs to be changed but I have idea on how or where to go to change it. You can check the file prefs.js in the profile folder to see if you find any lines referring to that website and remove those capability.principal.codebase lines.

Copy everything from the old computer or your backup copy of your old computer to your new one.

It's not going to happen. Even a cursory reading of the forums would have revealed this fact.

Leave your iPhone at home or in airplane mode while you're in India and buy yourself a cheap disposable phone to use while you're in India. I believe AT&T still has a program where they will put your account "on hold" while you are gone for a small fee.

I am at a new office that uses Outlook (not Outlook Exchange) which does not sync with my mobile... I just got iCloud set up on my PC to sync my contacts, calendar, reminders, etc... The sync worked (not without flaws, but the other issues seem solvable... I think), so that i can now see all my appointments on both my phone and on my PC. The problem I am having is that iCloud moved all of my calendar items from Outlook into iCloud calendar and now when I send out meeting/calendar invites the recipients may accept them, but the meeting does not get added to their calendar. This is a huge problem and may mean that i need to turn off iCloud.
Does anyone know how to fix this?

I am replying to my own post here as I seem to have fixed the problem.
I do have some calendars that are shared. Some of those are shared with users who have time zone support turned on. So i activated time zone support on my iphone, then deleted my icloud subscription. I then signed in to icloud again and voila... problem solved.
It is a weird one as the other calendar views were always fine and when you opened an event that appeared in the wrong day (on list view), the correct date of the event was shown in the information...

The ntfs hasn't seem to be causing any problems, but I've always wanted to know.
in order for your Mac to write to NTFS drives, it needs some help by installing e.g. the NTFS 3G driver. apparently that or something similar is installed on your Mac already. preferably, it would be formatted for Mac but then windows machines would need to have e.g. MacDrive installed to recognize the drive.

I work at a nonprofit organization with four offices. I would like to use photocasting to make it easy for the other offices to send me photos. But, we only have two .Mac accounts. I'm using one. One computer in each of the other three offices is set up with the other .Mac account.
I started by setting two of them up on iPhoto and one was able to publish a photocast. I was able to subscribe to it. But the second one didn't work so well. And then both stopped working. I would get a message saying that the photocast did not exist on that .mac account. However when I searched for them in the iDisk they were actually there.
I'm basically wondering if the problem is just that I can't do this with one .Mac account or if I should be looking for some other problem. If anyone has an idea about this I would appreciate the advice.

Set up your Public folder with a user name and password and have the other offices access that folder on your iDisk to upload their photos in folders with appropriate titles to let you know where they came from and the date. The senders could archive the folder of photos, zip them, and send. Might make sending a bit quicker.

TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.

Have your brother create a contact in his phone for himself. Inside his own contact, have him add his phone number and his iCloud address.
Settings > Messages > Send & Receive Have your brother select both his phone number and email addresses where he would like to receive iMessages.

In your description you say the first document opens as the Title you gave it.
Templates always open as Untitled so it sounds like you have saved a regular document, perhaps into your templates folder which is possible.
Since you have already worked on it and it has been previously saved, Lion will now Save for you and Save a Version is available
The other document does open as Untitled so sounds like a real template and as Peggy has pointed out will not have either Revert nor Save a Version until you Save it and have changed something in it.
This is a classic example of just how Apple's supposedly "simplification" of the process, is leading to confusion of what has happened. That the conditions and resulting actions from those conditions is so convoluted says it all.
It all reminds me of the Monty Python Life of Brian sketch with the "simplified" John Cleese instructions to the class, as to if you have a brother in an older dorm whether to hang your hat and bag on the hooks provided. This is not an answer, Mr. Wong. The link you referenced refers to the DataTransferManager class being supported only in Native apps, which includes Windows Phone 8.1 RT apps. All aspects of the DataTransferManager work except for the TargetApplicationChosen
event under a WP8.1 universal app. This event does NOT fire in the Windows Phone 8.1 RT API implementation of DataTransferManager.
You need to reopen this thread and address the issue, please. The lack of support for this event is problematic for some phone scenarios, most notably supporting NFC Tap and Share.

I'd recommend changing moms email to yours to get a good backup on the Mac
Then switch mom's back to hers
Then change your account to the same email you used.

I have a late 2008 Macbook Pro with Mac OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion installed, but my CD drive inside my computer is damaged*, and it's far cheaper to buy an external CD drive than to repair it entirely. Before I do either, I would like some grasp of whether or not it's worth my time and money, as I've yet to order the external drive or make a genius bar appointment.
Also, the reason I'm choosing Windows 8 (Beta) is because it's free.
*I dropped my computer once two years ago. I haven't even used my CD drive until recently when trying to install Windows 8. I assume the drop was the issue. I've used compressed air to remove dirt/dust as well as resetting the PRAM multiple times and nothing seems to work, but I'm not worried about it.

No and No.
1: Apple only supports Windows 7 at this time in BootCamp (direct install into a bootable partition) because Win 8 is in Beta and no Mac hardware drivers are available yet from Apple for Windows 8.
2: You can't install Windows from a external cd drive into BootCamp, it has to be a internal one far as I know, perhaps a USB will work I don't know.

1: You can download and install Windows 8 Beta into a the free virtual machine software called VirtualBox, which Windows 8 will run in a window in OS X. This is better as it's still in Beta and Windows Beta releases will expire. Plus Windows 8 is a pain in the behind and you will want to be able to have VirtualBox or OS X be able to regain control over the computer.
