HT201304 What do I do if I forget my restrictions passcode and restoring dosn't work?

I had set a restrictions passcode accidentaly on the ratings of apps... It is quite annoying and I have already tried restoring my Ipod touch. Any suggestions?

You have to restore to factory defaults/new iPod.  You found if a backup was made with the Restrictions passcode present on the iPod the Restrictions passcode also gets restored when you restore from backup.

i have forgot my restrictions passcode and dont know what to do to restore my factory settings?

To remove a restrictions password you'll have to restore your phone as a new device without using your backup and start over.  Save as much of your data as you can first (import your photos & videos to your computer, email your notes to yourself of sync them to a supported program, back up your contacts such as by syncing them with iCloud, etc.), then follow this guide to restore your phone: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1414.

    Try This...
Close All Open Apps... Sign Out of your Account... Perform a Reset... Try again...
Reset  ( No Data will be Lost )
Press and Hold the Sleep/Wake Button and the Home Button at the Same Time...
Wait for the Apple logo to Appear...
Usually takes about 15 - 20 Seconds... ( But can take Longer...)
    Release the Buttons...

  • HT201304 ? I have forgotten my restrictions passcode and can't make any changes. I have already did a reset with iTunes but it still didn't help. The restrictions lock is still there.

I set a restrictions passcode and have completely forgotten it. I have tried to reset with iTunes but it just clears out my phone and when I turn it back on its still locked in the restrictions menu. U can't do a reset on your phone without it... So I don't know what to do.. Help!!!

    There is no default code.
    - Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and restore via iTunes. For how to restore: iTunes: Restoring iOS software
    You have to either:
    - Restore from a backup that was make before you added the Restrictions passcode. If you restore from a backup made with the Restrictions passcode the Restrictions passcode is also restored.
    - Restore to factory settings/new iPod

  • TS1362 I downloaded two cd's last night and I am un able to play some songs cause it tells me I am this computer is unauthorized to play some songs,I did what it said about going to store to get authorized and still will not work, not happy at all!

I downloaded two cd's last night and I am un able to play some songs cause it tells me I am this computer is unauthorized to play some songs,I did what it said about going to store to get authorized and still will not work, not happy at all!  I NEED HELP OR MY MONEY BACK NOW!

There seems to be an occasional issue with downloads from the store. They prompt for authorization when they are in fact corrupt/incomplete in some fashion. Try deleting the problem tracks (do not hide from iTunes in the cloud), close iTunes and reopen, go to iTunes Store > Qucklinks > Purchased > Music > Not on this computer. Select a few tracks to download then click the icon that appears at the top-right of the iTunes window.. Untick the box that reads Allow simultaneous downloads. Proceed with the rest of your eligible purchases.
If you still have a problem use the Report a problem links in your account history to contact the iTunes Store support team.

What's the difference between a restricted passcode and enter passcode

You'll need to restore the phone.  Make a backup first (I suggest to iCloud), and then restore the device.

  • What to do if I forgot my restrictions passcode and apple ID is disabled?

I can't use restrictions or update/download apps, please help!?!?!?

The only way to remove the restrictions passcode is to restore the iPod Touch using recovery mode and set it up as new.  If you restore from a backup, the restrictions passcode will be restored as well.

"Note: If you lose or forget a restriction passcode, you will need to perform a factory restore to remove it."
How to Restore using Recovery Mode: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1808
If your Apple ID is disabled and says "for security reasons" then you will just need to reset your password.  Here's the instructions: http://support.apple.com/kb/ts2446
If it says Apple ID Disabled and does not say anything about "security reasons" then you will need to contact the iTunes Store to get it fixed. Here's how you can do that: http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/

  • TS3682 I have forget my restriction passcode how I can get it?plz help

I have forget my restriction passcode how I can get it?plz help

You are out of luck. There is no way to recover it and now you will have to restore your iPad as new and you will lose everything on it. If you restore from a backup, you will just be restoring the forgotten restrictions passcode onto the iPad.
If by some chance .... You have a backup that was created before you put the restrictions passcode on the iPad, you can restore from that backup, but if not, you have to restore as new.
