HT201304 what if your forget you password to enable in app purchases
My kids were playing with my phone and somehow on top of purchasing $30 in crazy apps they also managed to change my password to enable my in app purchases...??...I can't figure it out and I called apple who told me to call my carrier...is there another way to retain a new password??
Thanks
As demo stated it is turned off if it's grayed out... check that your payment info is correct! There has to be another issue keeping you from purchasing!

I just purchased a software upgrade to OSX Lion. I received an e-mail that says, "To install your software, you simply launch the Mac App Store, click "Redeem"• found under Quick Links and enter your content code(s). How do I "launch the Mac App Store?"
Assuming you are running OS X 10.6.6 or later (10.7.x Lion, 10.8.x Mountain Lion or 10.9.x Mavericks), go to the Apple Menu (top left-hand corner of the screen)>App Store and it should become clear from there.

How do I set password for all in app purchases? xx
In-App purchases cannot be made without entering your iTunes store account password.

HHow can I retreive or re-set password for restricting in-app purchases? I have forgotten it.
The quotation below from iOS: Understanding Restrictions (parental controls) - Apple Support has instructions. Click on the "perform a factory restore" words for more details:
Important: If you lose or forget your Restrictions passcode, you'll need to perform a factory restore to remove it. -
I made an in app purchase and the game (Happy Farm) crashed but I completed the purchase on my iPad's Home screen because the Confirm purchase window popped up before I could relaunch the game. When I launched the game the purchase (which was Gems) was not showing so I took a screen shot of the game window showing 211 diamonds, which was the amount I started with, (the purchase was for 258 gems so my total should be 499). I then took a screenshot of myhome screen showing the time of day. I went back to the game repurchased the same amount, the app did not crash this time and I was credited with correct about of gems 211 +258 = 499... Took a snapshot of that screen. went back to my home screen and took a screen shot to show the time again. Well after sending Happy Farm all of this evidence, they responded that they gave me all the gems and I just used them all. I don't believe that they understand that my app crashed and during the 1st transaction and I clicked the Buy button (in the Confirm purchase window) on my Home screen not in the App, got charged but did NOT recieve the gems when I relaunched the app. I have more proof than most people and they are still calling me a liar... I need intervention from iTunes App store and I don't know how to get them to mediate this dispute. Do you know how I can get in touch with the App store?

What other option do you think you have? You either remember your existing password, or you get the password reset. There is no other option. Unless you mean your Passcode, in which case the only other option is to restore your phone back to factory settings, and then start fresh, losing ALL of your data. -
What is your favorite way of running 32 bit apps in Arch64?
I'm curious as to what methods Arch64 users use to run their 32 bit applications and what is your opinion on them.
I myself relies mostly on lib32 packages to run a few applications that I need (mostly flash & wine), which works quite nicely expect it makes my system feel a bit 'messier'. chroot looks like a nice option but I've not tried it out yet (it looks complicated to setup to be honest).Agent69 wrote:

It's good to know that someone has VueScan working on their x64 box. It is the one thing that keeps me dual booting with Vista.
However, just like Zodmaner, chroot looks complicated.
Setting up a chroot isn't that difficult, there are just has a lot of steps to follow! VueScan works for me in a 32bit chroot with just one issue - for some reason it loses the ability to initialise my scanner and I have to run XSane first to do the initialisation before starting VueScan. I had the same problem running VueScan in a 32bit chroot on 64bit Ubuntu, so it's not an Arch-specific problem, and Ed Hamrick wasn't able to help when I emailed him. -
Can anyone help. I-app purchases are restricted on this device
Can't buy anything in the App Store what can I doYou need to tell whoever restricted them to enable them under Settings->General->Restrictions.
You will have to provide the Restrictions Password that was set when it was activated. -
How do you enable in-app purchases for the iPod Touch?
I have apps like Puzzle Quest and Arena 9 on my iPod that have content I can buy from within the app, but whenever I try to purchase the said content, my iPod keeps saying "In-app purchases are currently disabled". I tried to find it in setting or on iTunes but I can't find a way to enable them.
Assistance please? Thanks.
Notes:
I have enough money on my account to purchase the content.
If ever I should have to deauthorize and reauthorize my iPod to fix this, doesn't that mean all my app data will be deleted? (e.g. game progress, files saved on my apps, etc)First, what version of iOS do you have on your iPod touch? You need iOS 3 or iOS 4 for in-app purchases to be available.
If you have an appropriate version of iOS, go to Settings -> General -> Restrictions. If you can't get it, Restrictions are enabled and In-App Purchases may be set to "Off". You'll need the passcode set by whoever turned on the Restrictions to verify and if necessary change the setting.
