HT201317 Backup photostream on 2 other WIN PCs

I had all my photostream backed up on icloud and a WIN7 laptop, they would not delete from the iPad, then I found them all on my other WIN8 PC photostream. the iPad wouldn't delete them from the WIN8 PC and kept being refreshed down to the iPad!
Why wouldn't they delete from all devices?
I had to do it from the folders on the PCs and with the iPad connected to iTunes, used Windows Explorer to find the photo folders of the iPad and move them elsewhere...
Bill

Hi, Illaass, and thank you again for your answer.
I try to explain what I mean another way.
Right now the situation is as follows:
- iPad: some apps missing
- desktop: apps that are missing on iPad + apps data (I hope that MyLibrary dB was backed up last sync...)
- laptop: the same as iPad (i.e. data missing)
The point is: I can re-download (and I did it, thank to your suggestion) any app I bought at no cost. But what happens to data that, I suppose and hope, are "stored" somewhere in my desktop? that's why I would prefer to have my iPad in sync with my laptop, just because of travel possibilities this device allows me. I mean: is it possible to sync apps AND data from desktop to iPad and THEN sync those data with my laptop? Should I "unauthorize" my desktop from iTunes?
Thanks again

Yes you can make multiple backups on one hard drive, for example if you’ve 1TB hard drive installed in your PC and you’ve two Mac Machines with 500GB drive each then you just make two backup images with size of 500GB each.

  • How to create shared photostream and let others add photos

Creating a Photostream that allows others to add images can be done on my iOS7 devices, but it seems Aperture is missing the option to do it on the Mac. Am I missing something?

    Am I missing something?
No, it is not yet possible to add to the shared streams created with iOS 7.02. You will have to wait for software updates that will make Mac OS X , Aperture, and iPhoto compatible with these new shared Photo Photo Streams. We are not allowed to speculate here, but let's wait and see, what the new MacOS X will bring.

  • Can't see other Macs/PCs on the network...

Since installing the Safari 6/Apple Remote Desktop Update I can't see other Macs/PCs on the network. If I restart I can see 2 Macs, but after a while they disappear, and I can see/connect to nothing...

If you are using DHCP check that it is getting the correct addressing. In the event that it is but still not working then test by giving it a fixed IP and see if it then works.

  • I have Windows7.  HOw can I download shared photostream photos from others' shared photostream

I use Windows7.  How can I download shared photostream photos from others' shared photosteam photos using ICloud?

How are you doing the downloading?
If you download raw files with iPhoto, iPhoto can only edit the JPEG preview that is embedded with each raw file. iPhoto is not a true raw editor, because it's a consumer-level product, not professional-level.
The files should remain in RAW format if you download any of these ways, by using:
Apple Image Capture (in your Utilities folder)
Canon Digital Photo Professional (comes with your camera, but since the 40D is so old, go to the Canon site and upgrade your copy to the latest version for compatibility with the latest Mac OS X)
    Apple Aperture
    Adobe Lightroom
Any other professional raw organizer/editor like Capture One

  • Can't see Win PCs on basic network

Hey, I have a Mac Pro hexacore running OS X 10.6.8 and I can see my other mac pro but not my 4 windows computers.  I can ping them by IP address just fine and I can even map a network drive to one of them by IP address but they do not show up.  The Win 7 and Vista are set for Network discovery but still do not show up.  For reasons known only to Apple the Mac is seeing non-existent networks as if they are networks and of course nothing is on these networks but they did exist months ago.  All computers are on the same subnet.  I have tried getting the mac to be a part of the same workgroup name but apparently it is not seeing the other network and so it just duplicates the workgroup name in its own little world.
Ideas would be wonderful.  I am not exactly a novice - I am an MCSE (from several years ago - but still an MCSE) and I have been working with Macs since the Mac Plus.  I just can't seem to break the code as to how to make the computers see each other.
Oh, no problme on accessing the internet on any computer.  We have AT&T UVERSE and that part seems ot be OK.  All computers are connected with of course cat 5 and using a large 24 port swithched gig ethernet hub.
    Thanks

No, the PCs do not have anyhing on them.  I am thinking it has something to do with the network setup.  I am working on trying to chase down a setup issue on the network.  It is one of those things where the way it is set up should work but doesn't.  We have the wireless router on one submnet and the wired machines on the other subnet - 192.168.2.0 and 192.168.1.0.  the PCs see each other on the wired network but the macs on the same wired network do not see the pcs but when I turn all the macs on wireless they all sync up just fine and see each other.  You would think that if the IP addresses are only 5 or 6 numbers apart and are given out by the same DHCP with the same subnet mask and gateway that they would think they are on the same subnet - but for reasons only know to Apple - they do not see each other.  I can directly map a netword drive in either direction but the computer networks do not see each other at all.  Crazy???

  • HT201317 My photostream photos show more then 30 days of photos and have only just set my computer up with the  icloud, is there any way I can get photos on my computer from more then 30 days ago?

My photostream on my iphone shows more then 30 days of photos, however I have recently lost my phone and hadn't set up the icloud on my computer until now. Is there anyway to get all the photos in my photostream on my iphone or just the last 30 days?

If you backed up the iPod before restoring it then restore from that backup. See the restore topic of:
    iOS: How to back up
Also, if yoo have that backup you can extract the photos by:
Recover iPhone, iPad or iPod photos from backups with Picturescue
If you used PhotoStream then try getting them from your PhotoStream. See that topic of:
iOS: Importing personal photos and videos from iOS devices to your computer

  • System Image Backup fails in Surface Pro Win 8.1 with an error

I'm trying to create a system image backup by using "System Image Backup" tool that comes with Windows 8.1 without any success.
For this I went to "File History" tool and under this at the bottom-left hand side there is a link "System Image Backup". Then selected the drive and just clicked Next and Ok on the prompts.
I get the below error message around the last stage of the backup since the progress bar will be just around the finish line when
the below error pops up saying that the backup wasn't successful:
ERROR: "There was a failure while compacting the virtual had disk on the backup location. (0x80780151) Additional Information: Incorrect
    function. (0x80070001)"
I'm using Verbatim 500GB portable hard drive. I have formatted it in NTFS file system as required by the backup tool. It has nothing
in it so it has enough space.
    Thanks

    Hi,
Based on my research, I suggest you try to delete mounted volume reparse point.

  • How do a clean install from Time Machine Backup which is in other partition of internal hard drive

I have 2 partitions in my internal hard drive they are
    1. Mac OS (Sysem Files)
    2. HDD (Other Personal Documents).
I did Time Machine Backup in HDD partition. So now i want to do clean install from the Time Machine Backup without format the whole drive since my system not booting meant that system crashed and cant boot in anyway (Just consider ). Also I have MAC bootable USB stick.
    Thanks in advance .

Having never seen a setup like that, I'm not sure how it will work.
In theory, just erase the Mac OS volume, then install, choosing to recover from a Time Machine backup.
When you boot into Recovery, open Disk Utility and select the Mac OS volume, not the whole disk. Erase it, then quit DU and restore from the Time Machine backup. However, this is the part I'm not certain of. I would imagine the partition with TM backup will be mounted, but I don't know.
If you can't see the Time Machine backup from the Recovery HD on the drive, try it from the USB Recovery stick (it is a Recovery USB and not the old Lion install USB, correct?)
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4718
If you don't have a "built-in" recovery HD because of your partitioning, then you would have to boot from that USB Recovery disk.
Your setup is severely flawed. A backup on the same drive as the data is not a backup. You will lose everything with a disk failure.
Also, partitioning off your OS on a Mac is not necessary and is probably counterproductive. OS X is not Windows.

  • Is it possible to decrypt EFS files without backup certificate- windows xp,vista,win-7,win8

    hi,
i have windows xp and and i did the  format c:\  without take any EFS certificate backup ,is it possible to decrypt efs files without backup certificate , i have lot off files like Microsoft office and pdf , how can i recover the file and decrypt
Any software to decrypt the files , mostly word and excel files , any solution please let me know as soon ad possible.
    Thx
    PV

    PV
If you formatted the entire "C" drive (Format C:\) then you don't need to decrypt them but rather recover them.  Recovery is somewhat doubtful but one application you can try is called recuva.
You will not recover 100% of the files and may not recover any

  • HT201317 Problem Photostream Ipad 3

When I make a photo on my Ipad 3 it comes in my photo album, but not in my fotostream map. Pictures made with my iphone 4 goes to the photostream map, but not to the ipad photostream map via Icloud. If I open the picture app. (standard) on the ipad, then I don't see it synch. It worked fine till a week ago. The settings are correct on the Ipad, iphone and computer. photostream is turned on (3x). I have the latest update of itunes. So problem is with the Ipad. Iphone and computer works fine with photostream. What can I do??

Thanks Colin, but unfortunately I need to use iOS 5.1 for some of my ANE extensions so I can't use that workaround.
Have you heard of other solutions? It would have been nice with an option to support high resolution for iPhone, but not for iPad, since it seems impossible to handle that resolution.

  • How i backup my contacts to other computer in itunes

how i backup my contacts from one pc to another pc

I assume you sync your phone with an address book on your one computer.  Thus it is in your address book.  So to backup you would back up your address book from your computer as you would normally.  It has nothing to do with the iPhone.
Then you would get that backup into the other computer.
How you go about this is based on your computer and what software you use.  Most common is open your address book on computer and locate option to Export.  Then copy that file to other computer and repeat using the Import option.
