HT201317 Can I reupload my photos after 30 days?

I recently bought a new iPad and I would like to be able to view all my older photstream photos that I took on my iPhone 4s. I have had the phone for quite a while so a lot of the pictures are quite old now. How can I reload them back up to iCloud so as to get the onto my iPad. Any assistance in much appreciated.

For future reference...  don't use icloud as a photo backup or storage device.  ALWAYS sync photos to a computer via USB or photo stream and save the photos on the computer within a permanent album or folder.  Do this just as you would to save photos from a digital camera to a computer.
Once on the computer, you can always add back photos to the photo stream.  Can't do that on a device.

Here to help shed some additional light on this case, jdondr. I also own a Maxx. With your phone, if you access the Gallery, there should be a folder named: Messaging.  If you look at the upper left hand corner, you should see a drop down box. Is it currently set to Albums?

Can I retrieve a photo after deleting it on my iphone4?

Not from the phone if that was the only place it was stored, but you could restore from an iCloud or iTunes backup to get the photo back.  You could also check to see if it's still in Photo Stream as well.

  • I can no longer rotate photos after importing them.

I can no longer rotate photos after importing them.  This option was available before they last update.

There is another current discussion about this going on. I copied it and pasted the answer here.
"Your functionallity is on an IPAD 2.  This forum is refering to an IPAD 1!
I spoke to Apple technical support and they concur.
The feature was available on IOS 4.3 and was removed in IOS 5.
They directed me to 3rd Party Software.  I told them this is not an anwser since I have 100's of picture which must be loaded in the the 3rd Party Software Rotated individually and saved back into the Save Folder.
They said if they have enough compliants it will be fixed in the next rev."

  • I can't see my photos after successfully converting catalog.

After successfully converting my catalog from Elements Organizer 10 to 12, on my PC, I can't see any of the photos I converted. Any ideas on how to get them to show up?

    Hi,
Which operating system are you running on?
When you say you can't see any photos, I'm assuming that you are talking about the thumbnail grid. What do you see there, a question mark, an egg timer, or a message?
After the conversion of the catalog, when you next load the organizer it has to rebuild the thumbnails which can take sometime.

  • Can I retrieve the photos after an iOS update?

I recently bought a mini ipad and took few photo. When I tried to take out the photo. My mini ipad was asked to update to new version. after that  I mistakenly restored to the earlier version of my ipad and lost the photos. Where can I find the photos either in my laptop or itunes?

You can't now. If you restored to a backup that didn't contain the photos, they are gone. If you would have backed up the iPad before you updated, you would have restored to the backup that contained the photos. Instead you backed up to an earlier version and now the photos are gone.

  • HT201317 can you recover deleted photos in iCloud?

Can you recover deleted photos in iCloud?

If you mean photos removed from photo stream, unfortunately no.  If you mean photos deleted from your camera roll, they are supposed to be included in your iCloud backup (although unfortunately not all users report success in getting them back).  If you made a backup while these photos were still in your camera roll, you may get them back by restoring this backup to your phone.  (Note, restoring a backup will revert all settings and data on your phone to those contained in the backup, not just photos.)

  • Can't find iPhoto photos after downgrading to Snow Leopard from Lion

I had my photos on my External Hard Drive being used as a backup for TIme Machine.
After downgrading to Snow Leopard from Lion (my computer was running rediculusly slow likely due to being so close to the minimum requirements), I can not access any of my Time Machine dates prior to the date I downgraded. I have reinstalled Lion to try to access the files that way, but am having issues finding my old photos.
Any help would be appreciated as I've got about 15000 photos of my kids on there.

There are issues with iphoto which changes versions..
I would strongly recommend you do an archive of the TC before you do any more playing.
I presume the TC is the only place you have these photos stored??? So your entire library is hard disk erase from total annilahation.. not good!!
Load a real utility into Lion.. archive is not present on the new version.. why apple why??
    http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1482
You can then do a full restore to an external drive.. or something fancy..
    Pondini is the saviour here.

There is a specific section on iphoto and its pain.
I strongly suggest you read the entire section from Q14-18 so you actually understand what TM does.

  • Can you restore a photo after you delete it?

I took a picture today then deleted it by mistake with a few others I meant to delete. But I have not synced the phone to the computer after I took the photos as I am not home. So I guess my question is, where does the iphone send photos I delete? Does it just dump the data immediately?

Yes, the photo is deleted, there is no "trash can" on the iPhone.

  • HT201317 can't get pc photos to appear in photostream

I'm trying to transfer photos from my PC to iPhoto in the cloud so that I can use them for new Keynote presentations.  How do I get them to transfer / upload.  No luck so far per the instructions.  Thanks!

Unfortunately no and the problem is back.
As I commented I've been through the whole process of trying differing USB ports on my mac, restarting and resetting the phone, restarting the computer and then uninstalling and reinstalling itunes. All as per instructions on the iphone support page. Despite all this the phone would still not show up on itunes.
I also tried several other macs and the phone still wouldn't show up.
I thought the problem had sorted itself out after yet another phone reset last night but it is happening again. At the moment the phone will occasionally appear and sync. The phone does however charge through every USB and on every computer I try.
Unless anyone else has any bright ideas I can only assume it's an intrinsic phone issue and I'll sen it back to apple for replacement.
    cheers

  • Why can't I open photos after updating an iphoto Library on new computer?

I have saved a 13,000 photos from my old Mac onto a hard disc, and am now trying to import those photos onto a new Mac computer.
When I copied the 2012 iPhoto Library onto my new computer, a prompt came up to tell me that the Library needed to be updated in order to be used on this computer. So I followed the steps and it seems to have successfully updated itself. But see all the photos when I scroll through the Library... but, when I try to click to open it, I get a HAZARD sign -- triangle with a big exclamation mark.
Please, can someone advise how I get my old photos onto my new computer?
    Thanks. Corinna

That sign turns up when iPhoto loses the connection to the actual file.
    Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Repair Database. If that doesn't help, then try again, this time using Rebuild Database.
    If that fails:
    Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. (In early versions of Library Manager it's the File -> Rebuild command. In later versions it's under the Library menu.)
This will create an entirely new library. It will then copy (or try to) your photos and all the associated metadata and versions to this new Library, and arrange it as close as it can to what you had in the damaged Library. It does this based on information it finds in the iPhoto sharing mechanism - but that means that things not shared won't be there, so no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your events, albums and keywords, faces and places back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.

  • Can No Longer See Photos After Double Click to Edit

Photos and videos only visible as thumbnails. When double click to edit, cannot see. However, can double click on books and see them in edit mode. All photos still located in iPhoto Library. Have run backup and gone through all four options for database repair. Have uninstalled and reinstalled version 9.5.1. Still cannot see photos. Running latest version of OS Mavericks and latest version of iPhoto.

There are several possible causes for the Black Screen issue
    1. Permissions in the Library: Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Include the option to check and repair permissions.
    2. Minor Database corruption: Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild.
    3. A Damaged Photo: Select one of the affected photos in the iPhoto Window and right click on it. From the resulting menu select 'Show File (or 'Show Original File' if that's available). (On iPhoto 11 this option is under the File -> Reveal in Finder.) Will the file open in Preview? If not then the file is damaged. Time to restore from your back up.
    4. A corrupted iPhoto Cache: Trash the com.apple.iPhoto folder from HD/Users/Your Name/ Library/ Caches...
    5. A corrupted preference file: Trash the com.apple.iPhoto.plist file from the HD/Users/ Your Name / library / preferences folder. (Remember you'll need to reset your User options afterwards. These include minor settings like the window colour and so on. Note: If you've moved your library you'll need to point iPhoto at it again.)
If none of these help: As a Test:
Hold down the option (or alt) key key and launch iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Create Library'
Import a few pics into this new, blank library. Is the Problem repeated there?
