HT201317 How do i delete imported photos in my ipad?

I had imported photos from my computer to my iPad before. Now, i have decided to remove them. But it seems that i couldn't find the "trash bin" icon on the upper right corner. I would like to remove it using my computer but it was newly fixed. The newly installed iTunes couldn't recognize my device. I'm worried that i might lose data if i continue to figure it out by myself. I need some help please. I'm not good in dealing with technical problems. Thank you.!

If they were taken with the iPad, copied onto it via the camera connection kit, or saved from emails/websites etc then you  should be able to delete them directly in the iPad's Photos app - either via the trashcan icon in the top right corner if viewing the photo in full screen, or via the icon of the box with the arrow coming out of it (Edit button on iOS 6) in thumbnail view.
Depending upon what version of iOS that you have on your iPad then after tapping the Edit button at the top right of the screen in thumbnail view you may also be able to double-tap one of the thumbnails with two fingers, but instead of lifting your fingers off the screen after the second tap slide then back and forth across the screen on the photos that you want to select for deletion.
You should also be able to delete them via Image Capture on your Mac e.g. re-connect the iPad, open Image Capture, select the photos that you want to delete and then at the bottom of the screen click the 'no entry' symbol

  • How do I delete imported photos on the iPad in less then 2000 clics?

    Hi.
I've been using the iPad to collect photos form my digital cameras.
I have a few thousand of such photos on my iPad.
Today I wanted to delete them (because they take a lot of memory and are synched anyway after correction).
I could only find how to delete them by selecting them one by one on the iPad .
On the Mac, I use Aperture, which has no option (AFAIK) for deleting imported photos.
How stupid is that that you can import thousands of photos on the iPad and not delete them in under 1000 clics?
I just found out that I still have iPhoto on my Mac, so I am going to import pictures from the iPad to iPhoto and use the option to delete them.
Anyone with a less ridiculous solution?
    Thanks in advance,
    Jerome.

The iPad's file system is hidden and not accessible unless perhaps you have jailbroken the iPad.
Not jailbroken. The OP asked about photos that were imported, not sync'ed.
Quote: "I've been using the iPad to collect photos from my digital cameras.

The import photo albums generated using the CCK are accessable just like the "Saved Photos" album.
As far as "clueing you in on how I do that", see my previous post.

  • How do I delete imported photos from the iPad?

I have accidentally downloaded pictures from laptop I don't want on the iPad. I can't seem to delete them. How is it done?
    Many thanks,
    Avicia

You will have to sync again with iTunes to remove them. If you uncheck the box like in the picture below, it will remove all photos when you sync. Or keep that box checked and uncheck the boxes next to the photos, albums, folder that you want to remove from on the iPad.
In the example below, if I uncheck the box next to Disney 2010 when I sync, those photos will be removed. You will have to click on Apply in the lower right corner of the iTunes window as well to sync.

  • How do I delete synced photos from my IPad 2? My computer is no longer holding a charge and I would like to delete photos I synced without my computer

I hope that it is not true that I cannot delete photos thaI synced to my iPad. I cannot use my computer because it is not charging. How do I remove synced photos from my iPad without the use of my ITunes?

This is a problem. Normally you do need to connect to the computer you've synced ith previously to delete albums that were copied from that computer.
In the case where the old computer fails, crashes or is sold or discarded, you need to get all of your stuff off the iPad and onto a new computer. Visit Apple support to learn how to do this. Once you establish a new tunes library on a different computer you can sync and delete the photo albums you no longer want.
Another option is to restore your iPad to its original state. That will delete everything including photos, non default apps, music, videos, etc.
Once reset and erased you can download all purchased apps again.

  • I would like to know how I can delete sync photos from my ipad as I have tried everything to delete them as they are unwanted and it was a first time try

I am having problems deleting unwanted photos from my photos app on my ipad, I synced with my pc as i wanted to see how the system worked, and now i cannot delete any of them, even with the delete button at the top left hand side, which does not function

If it was synced from your computer then it can't be deleted directly on the iPad, you will need remove/de-select it from where you synced it from on your computer and re-sync.

  • Got a new iPad 2 downloaded to many photos. How due you delete the photos on the iPad

How due I delete photos on iPad 2

Photos taken with the iPad, copied onto it via the camera connection kit, or saved from emails/wesites etc can be deleted directly on the iPad - either via the trashcan icon in the top right corner if viewing the photo in full screen, or via the icon of the box with the arrow coming out of it in thumbnail view. Photos that were synced from your computer are deleted by removing them from where they were synced from and then re-syncing (if you were able to delete them directly on the iPad, then the next time you synced photos they would be put back onto the iPad, unless you remembered to also remove them from your computer).

  • How do I delete imported photos existing on my iPhone?

I imported ALL of my photos from iPhoto and now I don't know how to delete the ones I don't one! I thought re-checking the box would do the trick to just delete all the photos and start again, but it doesn't delete even though it says it is deleting. Help!

Make a folder/album called iphone. Put all the pics you want in that folder/album. Then set itunes to sync that folder/album. Any time you add/delete a pic from that folder/album on your computer, and sync, the pics will be added/deleted from iphone.
The iphone is designed to mirror whatever folder/album that you sync with. The iphone's photo album is not a stand alone photo album. You change it by changing the folder/album on you rcomputer and syncing.

  • HT4101 How to delete imported photos.

I used an SD card IPad accessory to import photos from my camera but the photos automatically go into the 'imported photos' album as well as the 'recently imported' album. I then tried to move them all into category albums ( summer, autumn, winter etc) but instead of moving them out of the 'imported photos' album it just made another copy to put in my new album. Now I have 2 or 3 copies of the same photo!!! (Not to mention photo stream and photos have copies as well!)
I wish to know how I can delete these photos but only from 'imported photos' album and 'recently imported' album without deleting them from the albums I wish to keep. It's taking up lots of space on my ipad and is extremely unnecessary for me!

Spare youself the frustration, use Photo Manager Pro.

Photos that were synced from your computer using iTunes can only be deleted by de-selecting them from the folder from where they were synced -  and then re-syncing.
Connect the iPad to the computer and launch iTunes.
Click on the iPad name on the left side under devices.
Click on the Photos Tab on the right.
Uncheck all of the albums that you want to remove under the Sync Photos From heading
Click on Apply in the lower right corner of iTunes
If you are using iTunes 11 and you can't see the sidebar go to View>Show Sidebar from the menu at the top.
