HT201317 I have been waiting 2 hours for photos in photo stream to upload

I have been waiting 2 hours for photos to go from my iphone 4s to photo stream so i can turn on iPhoto in my computer and view them. they still have not appeared. this seems ridiculous to me. Can anyone impart to me what i am doing wrong?

I have rebooted both the computer(s) and the iOS devices. I have checked to make sure the IDs that i am signed in to the cloud with are the same. I keep thinking it must be some mis-set preference but all the info i find about setting it up seems to suggest i have done that part right too. Very frustrating.....

    The OS X Lion installer takes more than 4 GB of space, so it is normal for most Internet connections to take the download more than an hour.
    If you want to see the download progress, open the Mac App Store and go to Purchases.
    Before upgrading, make a backup of your files with Time Machine and check that your apps are compatible > http://www.roaringapps.com

    At this point you have no choice but to update the or delete them and reinstall them since you wont be able to use them until they update - or come out of the "waiting" loop.
    Make sure that you do not have a stalled download in iTunes - a song or podcast .... if you have a download in there that did not finish, complete that one first. Only one thing can download at a time on the iPad so that could be what is causing the problem.
    If that doesn't work - sign out of your account, restart the iPad and then sign in again.
    Settings>Store>Apple ID. Tap your ID and sign out. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
    Go back to Settings>Store>Sign in and then try to update again. Tap one waiting icon only if necessary to start the download stream.
    You can also try deleting the waiting icons - tap and hold down on an icon until it wiggles - the tap the X on the icon to delete it. Then try to download again.
    You can try resetting all settings. Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings. You will have to enter all of your app preferences and device settings again.

    Howdy Kathleen,
    It sounds like your iPhone is syncing to your library, but seems to be getting stuck on the last step. I would use the troubleshooting in the following article to help you resolve that issue, named:
    iTunes: Resolve USB-related alerts
    See if the cable connection at the device or computer has come loose or unplugged.
    Unplug the cable you're using to connect your iOS device from the USB port on your computer, and then reconnect it. Then unplug it from your iOS device, and reconnect it.
    Remove any third-party battery packs or cases from the device and ensure that the USB cable is connected directly to the port on the device.
    If your Lightning or 30-pin cable is connected to a keyboard, display or USB hub, try plugging it directly into a USB port on the computer instead. 
    Close any virtualization apps (such as Parallels or VMWare).
    These apps may interfere with your computer's ability to communicate over USB if they aren't properly configured, or up to date. If this resolves the issue, contact the developer of the app to see if an update is available.
    Restart your computer.
    Restart your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.
    If you're using an accessory or third-party cable to connect your device, try using an Apple cable with the device instead.
    Update to the latest version of iTunes if you haven't already.
    Disconnect other USB devices from your computer, except for your keyboard and mouse. Then, reconnect your iOS device. If the issue is resolved, reconnect the other USB devices one at a time. Make sure your iOS device is still recognized by the computer after adding back each device. 
    If one of these steps resolves the issue, but it comes back later, make sure you haven't changed how the device is connected. For example, check to see if you plugged the device into a specific accessory, or used a specific cable that reintroduced the issue.

  • Been waiting an hour for my iphone 4 to activate....

    So i called to activate it, it said turn it off for 5 minutes and turn it on. i did so and nothing. then it deactivated my iphone 3gs and i have no phone. And due to a crazy problem with my imac i dont have ios 10.5 right now. Should my phone just turn on and work or do i need to sync it first? Should i just wait for a text saying its working?     Hello, I have been waiting almost 24 hours for my SIM to be activated. When I went in store, they said that as I am an existing customer it should only take a few hours to swap my number over to my new sim card. I have been on the website to try and activate it but it says it sends a text to your old sim. The screen on my old phone is completely unresponsive and therefore I am unable to do anything on it, including reading my texts. Should I leave it til after the 24 hour deadline before calling customer services? I am at work until 9pm this evening and all day tomorrow so am worried I will not get this resolved until Thursday and I use my phone for work so need it working. I also have to travel a long distance to get there and am worried about there being a problem and not having any way of contacting anyone without my phone. Help

    If the store activated your new sim then you will not have to use the online activation form.
    If you still have no service on the new sim after 24 hours please get in touch with customer service.

    If you are having issues receiving the email verification for your security questions, you may find the following article helpful:
    When you provide a rescue email address during Apple ID creation, you will receive an email from Apple to verify that the email address provided is accurate. If you don't see an email from Apple asking you to verify your rescue email address, you may want to check your SPAM folder. If you still haven't received the email from Apple, you can sign in to My Apple ID (appleid.apple.com) to resend your rescue email address. To resend your verification email, click on Password & Security. Then, click the Resend link located in the Rescue Email Address section.

    Think about it...
    The reason they won't use email is so they can "stretch the truth" and get away with it.  They can tell you anything you want to hear over the phone and deny it all later.  In these forums, posts can magically disappear.
    With email, they are caught between a rock and a hard place, so it will never happen.  Things said in email are much harder to go back on.
