HT201317 missing all of icloud photos on my ipad

i had icloud photos on my ipad now they are missing entirely. i'm missing a photo of my dad who died earlier this year and its important that i figure out how to get those photos back

I had the same thought that it would be nice if I could specify a subset of the photos on my Mac to be included in iCloud Photo Library. There isn't an option and the only work around I have found would be to have to Photos libraries on my Mac -- one with iCloud on and the other with it off. Not an easy solution. • ITunes sees all my iCloud photo Library photos on iPhone

Here is a problem, see the screenshot below
I suppose that this is all my iCloud Photo Library Photos but how could they be as a photos on device? Of course I have no space to sync even my tones... :/
How to fix this problem? Any suggestions?
    Thanks in advance!

A copy of iCloud Photo Library (beta) photos is stored on your phone. If you want to minimize the space required on your phone for that copy, see the quote below from iCloud Photo Library beta FAQ - Apple Support
How does iCloud Photo Library save space on my device?
If you turn on Optimize [device] Storage, iCloud Photo Library will automatically manage the size of your library on your iOS device, so you can make the most of your device's storage and access more photos than ever. iCloud Photo Library stores the original, high-resolution photos and videos in iCloud and can keep lightweight, device-optimized versions on each of your devices. As long as you have enough storage, recent photos and videos that you access the most will stay on your device at full resolution.
To turn on Optimize [device] Storage on your device, tap Settings > iCloud > Photos or Settings > Photos & Camera, then select Optimize [device] Storage. You need an Internet connection to access an original photo or video that’s stored only in iCloud.

  • All my iCloud photos are downloading to one of my computers, but only the last month's worth to another.  How can I get them all to download to both computers?

All my iCloud photos are downloading to one of my computers, but only the last month's worth to another.  How can I get them all to download to both computers?

When you on photo stream you will only get photos from the last 30 days (plus future photos added to your stream).  That's because they only remain in iCloud for 30 days.
To get the old photos on your computer, import them using your usb cable, as explained here: iOS: Import personal photos and videos from iOS devices to your computer.

  • Not all of my photos from my iPad will sync with my macbook pro retina. Any advise would be appreciated as I am a Mac beginner.

Not all of my photos on my ipad sync across to my macbook pro retina.Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Thank you - I have done this now but resetting and restoring from another device didn't really help. However, syncing via iTunes was a bit more successful as it occurred to me that many of my contacts are in MS Outlook on my PC and I was able to copy them over.  There are still some contacts missing and I am continuing to try and figure out where they originate from to try and get them to show up.

  • How do I prevent iCloud putting all my daughters photos (from her iPad mini) onto my iPad?

Her mini has my Apple ID for apps and purchases but her own Apple ID for anything free like iMessage and FaceTime, game centre etc. I've just noticed that all her photos are in my photo stream, guessing it happened through iCloud. I really don't want all her stuff clogging up my iPad and definitely don't want her getting ALL my stuff - although it is helpful to be able to have music on both and share apps etc.
How do I fix it please?

Photostream is different that iCloud backup, so whether or not it's backed up yet has nothign to do with you seeing her photos.
If her the photos are appearing in your photo stream, then you two are sharing an iCloud account for sharing photos.
On your daughter's device in Settings --> iCloud --> Account, which account is listed? It should be your daughter's AppleID (iCloud account). Photos should be turned on.
On your device, in the same location, your account should be listed.
There are multiple places where AppleIDs can be used, so be sure you're looking in the place I described above.

  • How do I turn on photo sharing in itunes so I can see all my iphone photos on my ipad and home computer?

How do I turn on home sharing so I can see all my iphone photos on all my devices, ipad, apple TV, and home computer?  I must have stopped home sharing when setting this up but would like to turn it on again.

You might have been using the iPad every day and this issue could have cropped up anyway. I have read where users state that they used their iPad the night before, plugged in to charge it over night and they had the connect to iTunes message on the iPad the next morning.
What I'm saying is that what happened to you can't be explained other than something went wrong. Brilliant I know, but how can anyone possibly know what happended for sure.
Without a computer - and I know that with iOS 5 an iPad can be PC free - it is my belief that you could be facing issues down the line because even with iCloud - if you get the connect to iTunes message - there is no way to correct the problem without a computer.
Even of you had been using the device every day, charging it every night and taking great pains to ensure that the iPad was well cared for, once the connect to iTunes message pops up - you still need a computer.
Unless I have been missing something for the last six months, iCloud can't bail anyone out of this scenario.

  • ICloud Photos on my iPad uses too much space

I updated to iOS 8.3 and enabled iCloud Photo on all my devices and have it enabled on my iMac with the latest OSX Yosemite.  Since then, the Photos app on my iPad is taking far too much space even though I have enabled the optimize storage feature on the iPad.  Is there away to reduce the number of Photos available on my iPad without turning off the iCloud Photo feature? Is it possible to view only a subset of all my photos or is it all or none with iCloud?

  • How do I get iCloud photos on my iPad?

I have two iPads.  One has all my photos from iCloud, but the other one does not.  The settings look the same on both iPads.

On the first iPad, if you open Photos, do all of the photos appear in the Photo Stream album or camera roll, or are they in the Photos album?

  • HT1386 how to delete all of my photos on my ipad 2

I have an ipad 2 and am out of memory.  The only thing I can remove are my photos (close to 4K of them) but am having trouble removing them.
When I go into edit and check certain photos, the delete button does not allow me to delete.  I need to update to ios7 on my ipad.
I just spent several hours on my PC and have all of my photos as I want them on the PC so I am afraid to sync my ipad as I don't know
how to make sure that the control will be from the PC and not the ipad.

Photos that were copied to your iPad by syncing with your computer can be quickly removed by doing another sync. But before you click on Sync be sure to deselect the albums in the photos tab that you want to remove. Deselected albums will remain on your computer of they are there already but they will be deleted from the iPad when you click on Apply or sync.

  • HT201317 How do I delete photos on my ipad?

I am unable to delete individual photos, and albums on my new ipad. How do I get round this problem?

You can delete photos in any album except Photo Library by opening the album, tapping Edit, tap the photos you want to delete, tap Delete.  To delete photos from the photo library album, you have to connect your iPad to your computer, go to the Photos tab of your iTunes sync settings and uncheck the folders containging the photos you want to delete (or to delete the all, uncheck Sync Photos), then click Apply at the bottom to sync your iPad.

  • Is it possible to get back all my icloud photos from different phones?

My phone recently started not being able to back up due to icloud being full. Is there a way i can get all my photos back? I've had several phones but on the same account. thanks

All of the files that you were working on and managing in Lightroom were not actually "in" Lightroom. Your files are stored in folders on your computer. Lightroom simply points to those files and displays them. Reinstalling Lightroom would not have any impact on your image files unless the hard drive(s) were reformatted in the process. Lightroom uses a catalog which is a database to keep track of where your images are located. It also stores all of the adjustments made to your images. If you backed up that catalog before reinstalling your software, and if you still have all of your images, then you should be able to open that catalog that you used previously and have all of your work still in place. If you don't have the catalog then I'm afraid you will just have to start over. Whether or not you still have your image files isn't clear.

  • When looking at my iCloud photo stream on iPad using iOS 8.1.2, there is no option to save them...only copy, email etc. How can I save them?

how to save photos from iCloud on ipad

DId you tap on the More Button all the way to the right of the activities window and see if it shows up in there? I don't honk it will given the information that you have provided, but it won't hurt to look.
I Can think of no reason why it would not be appearing so try the basics, close the Photos app completely and then reset your iPad. No data is lost when you reset the iPad like this. Look again after you do this.
In order to close apps, you have to drag the app up from the multitasking display. Double tap the home button and you will see apps lined up going left to right across the screen. Swipe to get to the Photos app, then swipe "up" on the app preview thumbnail to close it.
Next, reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.

  • HT201317 How do I upload photos in my iPad/iPhone 5 photostream more than 30 days old to my brand new iMac iPhoto?

I just bought a new iMac 21.5" and am uploading all my music and pics from my external, iPad and iPhone 5.  My iPhoto in my iMac only uploaded the last 30 days of pictures in my photostream, and I've got like 5 months worth of pictures in there that I want on my iMac.  Is there a way to load all of them at once by adjusting the time limit of how far back it loads, or do I somehow have to transfer each picture individually to my iMac from my iPhone/iPad?

    Hello!
I would recommend you enable Shared Photo Streams on all your devices, then on your iOS device(s), go to Photos > Camera Roll > Edit, and tap all the photos you want to send to the Mac. Then hit the Share button and choose Photo Stream. Enter in your own email address and complete the steps. Then open iPhoto on the Mac and click Photo Stream in the sidebar. You will see the album you just created appear, double click it and your photos will begin to download. Once they're all there, select them all, right click, and choose Import. All your photos are now stored locally in iPhoto, and you can delete that Shared Photo Stream.
Or you could plug your iOS into your comuter which will open iPhoto and will allow you to import the photos, if you don't mind not doing it wirelessly.
    Hope that helps!

  • Does iPhoto 9.6 work with iCloud Photo Library at all?

I have iOs 8.1, but I have not enabled iCloud Drive or iCloud Photo Library yet, and I have not updated to Yosemite yet. I don't want to activate those until I know how photos between thee mac and iPhone will work after they are enabled.
Does iPhoto 9.6 interact at all with iCloud Photo Library? Does it even "see" iCPL photos similar to PhotoStream? Can it import from there? Do any of the crops and edits come through in iPhoto from the iOS photos app (whether imported from the iCPL or even via direct d/l from the phone via usb?

So what are you guys doing to manage your photos until the OSX Photos app come out? Just not using iCloud Photo Library at all I assume?
Can you use iCloud photo library but still manually import photos into iPhoto from USB import?
You can view your iCloud Photo Library (Beta) and download from iCloud Photo Library (Beta) at https://beta.icloud.com  or https://www.icloud.com  on your Mac, if you click the "Photos" icon. Click the "?" mark, to view the help for "Photos". But you cannot yet upload directly from your Mac to this library, even if the iCloud Photos Help is saying otherwise.
You can download to your mac from your devices using USB, but with iCloud Photo Library (Beta) enabled on your iPad or iPhone, you can no longer sync photos to them using iTunes Photo sync. So it is hard to get any photos onto your devices at the moment, other than using Photo Stream. To upload  photos to your iPad/iPhone using iTunes you have to disable iCloud Photo Library. And the synced photos will be erased, when you enable iCloud Photo Library again.
