If I want to save my photos on my PC do I have to move them from the Photo Stream File on my PC to another file on my PC?
How do I save photos on my iphone from the photo stream to the camera roll as they seemed to have been deleted when I manually download them onto my PC?
My iphone says I don't have enough storage to back it up yet the storage says I have 3.58 GB left of 5GB?
My photos are gone from my photo stream on my phone and PC - Why? are they gone for good.  They are even gone from the file I copied them to.
SOMEONE please help

Firefox also makes regular backups of your bookmarks in a folder named bookmarkbackups in your personal settings folder. You can restore the backup to your new Firefox, but unlike importing the HTML-format file, it is a complete drop-in replacement, so if you have saved new bookmarks you do not want to lose, the export/import method may work better for you.
By default, Windows hides your personal settings folder so the easiest way to access it is from inside Firefox. You can use either:
    * "3-bar" menu button > "?" button > Troubleshooting Information
    * (menu bar) Help > Troubleshooting Information
    * type or paste about:support in the address bar and press Enter
In the first table on the page, click the "Show Folder" button. This will launch a window showing your Firefox settings files.
You might want to back up this whole folder if you have other data you want to preserve from your XP computer.
Either way, you should find the bookmarkbackups folder here and when you click into it, find maybe 10 files with dates in their names.
The procedure to restore the file once you have it on removable media or some other convenient place is described in this article: [[Restore bookmarks from backup or move them to another computer]].
Regarding the other files and what you might find of use: [[Recovering important data from an old profile]].

If you can't obtain a retail install DVD from Apple, look on eBay or Google the installer part numbers to possibly find at an on-line store. Here's what to look for:

i bought an iphone 4s from someone and i dont know password of his Apple ID and i need to update the apps on my new iphone i need a solution please

The only solution is to erase the apps and purchase them through your own iTunes Store account. You have no legal right to those apps - the license is not tranferrable - and cannot in any case update them without the orginal purchaser's Apple ID.

  • New iPhone user needs guidance setting up 4 iPhones for family - best approach?

Hi - I'm a new iPhone user tasked with setting up 4 iPhones for family (three 4S, one 3GS). I set up the first 4S using my mother's existing Apple ID (she has an iPad) and I think (hope) hers is fine. When I set up my father's phone, my sister said to enter my mother's Apple ID during setup since they wanted to use a single Apple ID for iTunes purchases. The setup screen I'm referring to the 7th screen into the setup process for a new iPhone 4S (after the Welcome, Language, Country/Region, Location Services, Wi-Fi Networks, and Set Up iPhone screens), where it asks you to "Sign In with an Apple ID" or "Create a Free Apple ID". This screen was where I entered my mother's Apple ID into my father's phone.
By entering my mother's Apple ID on my father's phone at this point during setup, I seem to have created a "clone" of her phone - their phone numbers are distinct and they can call each other but iMessages sent to either of them initially appeared on BOTH phones. I think I have now fixed that by creating a separate Apple ID for my father after the fact and entering it under Settings>Messages. Thinking I could also enter his new Apple ID under Settings>iCloud, I found I could not change it from my mother's Apple ID (it's greyed out). I saw a recommendation in another post to click on the red "Delete Account" button at the bottom, but will that delete my mother's entire account or only its association with my father's phone?
Backing up a step or two, I'm worried that at this point I should have entered/created a new Apple ID on screen #7 during initial setup of my father's phone (instead of entering my mother's Apple ID), and that just changing settings in iMessage, iCloud, etc. won't really fix any problem(s) I've created. I hesitate to set up the other two phones before knowing how badly I've already messed things up with this one.
During the initial set up of my father's iPhone, should I have created/entered his own unique Apple ID on screen #7 instead of entering my mother's Apple ID? (and then on his phone AFTER setup was complete, changing to my mother's Apple ID under Settings>Store so that all purchases are shared)?
If yes, do I need to restore his phone to factory settings and set it up as a new phone so his phone behaves like his and not a clone of hers?
Without knowing what might be the best way to set up these 4 new iPhones, I was thinking the four unique users of these new phones would most likely want to share apps (by purchasing them with one Apple ID), backup/synch to one computer, but maintain separate iCloud accounts so everyone's info is private? I've spent time reading other posts and see so many different recommendations for families with multiple devices that my head is spinning. Many include questions from folks migrating from older phones or MobileMe. I think my situation is simpler in that there are 4 new iphones and one existing Apple ID. Have I missed some comprehensive post that clarifies the best way to set things up for families new to iPhones, or do needs vary so much that no single best way exists? Given my situation (and depending on which way I should proceed regarding having set up my father's phone with my mother's Apple ID), should I create/enter a separate Apple ID for each new phone user during initial setup so each phone is distinct from the others, and AFTER setup is complete, changing the iTunes and Store info to the shared Apple Id for purchases? Or can I customize each individual phone after the fact in Settings>Whatever so that even if I've entered the same Apple ID on Screen #7 during initial new phone setup, the 4 phones will ultimately be set up correctly?
So sorry to have to ask such basic questions. Many thanks, in advance, for any guidance provided to help me not make any (more?) mistakes during setup that will be a real headache to remedy later, once everyone has started using their phones.

Hi edgefield, sorry you're having so much trouble.
FIRST CREATE A BACKUP ON YOUR COMPUTER -ALWAYS BEFORE PLAYING WITH THE INFORMATION ON THE PHONES (it prevents losses)
    Now I'll answer your questions)
During the initial set up of my father's iPhone, should I have created/entered his own unique Apple ID on screen #7 instead of entering my mother's Apple ID? (and then on his phone AFTER setup was complete, changing to my mother's Apple ID under Settings>Store so that all purchases are shared)?
Yes.  Create his own apple id and sign him in.  then tap settings ->store -> tap on the account name -> sign out.
Then sign in your fathers apple id.  (create your fathers apple id on the computer, its much easier, trust me).
If yes, do I need to restore his phone to factory settings and set it up as a new phone so his phone behaves like his and not a clone of hers?##
No.  Tap settings -> icloud, and turn everything off (keep on the phone option).  Then DELETE ACCOUNT (it's got red around it and at the bottom of the screen if you scroll down).  You cannot sign out of iCloud, you can only delete the account.  Then clean up the contacts and information on the phone.
Then you tap settings -> iCloud and sign in.  Put your fathers apple id in the section.  His information will be uploaded to www.icloud.com.  Then go to www.icloud.com and sign in with his apple id.  Make sure his information is uploaded (you'll have to select timezone and such).
From that point you are fine except for iMessage.
For iMessage to function properly, only one apple id can be signed into the iTunes store (settings -> store).  If they are both signed into the same apple id on the iTunes store, than you need to turn off iMessage on one of the phones.  The iMessage may be delievered to either phone when both are signed in under the same apple id in the iTunes store.
tap settings -> messages -> imessage off
This also disables facetime.  If you want them to have iMessage and Facetime, they have to have seperate apple id's signed into the iTunes store.
Have I missed some comprehensive post that clarifies the best way to set things up for families new to iPhones, or do needs vary so much that no single best way exists?
Not that I've seen, will consider creating one if I have time.
Your best bet is to create each apple id on the computer (keyboards are easier to use) and then sign them each in during the creation process.  Then change the iTunes store info to the stored apple id.
This will allow each person to serpate iClouds without interfering with each others Cloud as you set up new devices.
Or can I customize each individual phone after the fact in Settings>Whatever so that even if I've entered the same Apple ID on Screen #7 during initial new phone setup, the 4 phones will ultimately be set up correctly?
Doing it this way can cause problems (or used to, not sure if it still does), initially, when you set it up, it wants to create a backup or upload the blank info to iCloud.  You are better off setting up their own apple id first and signing in with that, and then changing it in the iTunes store.
I'm off to bed, I'll check this thread tomorrow and see if you have any more questions/problems.  Remember, always create a back-up before you do anything.

  • Why is it I can't just buy the new iPhone without needing an upgrade?

This has been the most bizarre experience I have ever encountered, and it's enough to put me off Verizon and Apple altogether.
Yesterday, I went to pick up the new iPhone for myself and my wife, having gotten and email that we were eligible for the Early EDGE upgrade. I'm first told at the store that Apple is only allowing 1 phone per person to be sold... Ok, fine. So I get inside and, being the decent gentleman I am, opt to upgrade my wife's line first and will just do mine later that day. Upgrade for her goes smooth, now it's time to do mine. Oh, wait, apparently the EDGE upgrade can be applied to one line, and it was just my wife's; a detail that was cleverly hidden at the bottom of the email in black on grey text after all the marketing copy about how great the new edge program is. The Verizon rep tries to think of ways to get me the phone cheaper, but ultimately can't. I ask if I can just buy the phone at cost, and I'm told no because it doesn't go on sale to the general public until later, though no time is given. Again, Apple's rules.
Now, I'm pretty sure Apple could care less about exactly when someone buys their phone if they have the cash to do so, and I'm doubly sure they don't care about making sure those with upgrades can get the phone. All of this is starting to sound a little iffy. Whatever, I let it slide.
It is now 6pm, still yesterday, and we head into Best Buy to look at cases and see if they have a display 6 Plus to check out, as I'm curious about the size. I ask a Best Buy rep if they have any iPhone 6s left; they do; 128gbs? Yup. Silver??? Yup. VERIZON???? Yup. I'LL TAKE IT! One iPhone 6 at full price please! Oh, wait, no; Apple boogie man says I can't buy the phone for full price, I have to have to qualify for an upgrade. (I'm getting more and more ****** as I'm typing this, FYI). Ok, so now clearly something is amiss. 2 different locations- the official Verizon Store AND Best Buy are telling me I can't buy the phone without an upgrade, and both of them suggesting Early EDGE, even though I have the cash to just buy it. I tweet my frustration to both VerizonWireless and Apple. AC from Verizon Support tweets back sayings they should have let me buy it... Wow, this is ridiculous.
Can someone please clarify this: who is correct here? Is it really Apple playing gate keeper and looking out for those upgrade-only customers? Why is it 2 different places told me the same thing, yet the support rep is telling me something different?
At this point I'm just not going to both attempting to get the phone for a while since this has put me off even trying, but some clarity on just what is going on would be nice. Also, please talk to your Director of Customer Loyalty about his team's email design. While I'm fine with finding out it was just one line, (though I would have preferred both since my wife and I have been on the same account since it opened...), burying that information at the bottom of the email is not going to help retain customers. Expiration dates and other terms of service are fine there, but which line the upgrade applies to needs to be surfaced sooner.

It sounds as if you only had one line with an upgrade available. So you can only upgrade one line. For you to upgrade as well, you will have to wait until your upgrade is available. You can check that at MyVerizon. That's just how it works. All carriers and phone brands are the same. I have to wait until February to upgrade. The only thing you can do to get the new iPhone, is add a new line. But then you're paying for a line you don't need.

  • TS1368 I am trying to update my new iphone, and need to access my itunes account from a different computer.  How do I do this?

I have a new Iphone 5 that I am trying to sync with my existing itunes account.  I need to get this to sync to a different computer, than what I originally set it up on.  Every time I plug it in, it takes me to my daughters itunes account, and wants to sync up with her music.  How do I change the itunes account?

Hey Mike, just sign in the iTunes Store and authorize your account on this machine (don't worry, you'll be asked for it), then you will ready to use it.

  • Going to be new Iphone owner on X-mas. Questions ????

I can't wait until Dec 26th when I can go to my mall and buy my new Iphone!!! (I have to wait b/c I am getting like $300 of gift cards to buy one, and yes I called my Apple store and I can use them)
The wife and I are currently with Sprint, but we will be switching. I have talked to an ATT rep and they are going to waive the activation fees and give us like $100 towards my wife's phone to switch.
I was planning on going into ATT and signing up with them, get my wife a phone and get a free one for me (to keep in case my Iphone craps out), then go to Apple and buy my Iphone.
    My main question is:
*Do I have to wait until my phone # has been ported over from Sprint and my free phone works before I activate my Iphone??? And then do I activate as a current customer of ATT ???? Sorry, I have been with Sprint for like 8 years so it's been a while since I have switched companies. And I have never ported my number over. Have many of you done this????*
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

We just went through this.... we had a family plan (my husband, our son, and I) with Verizon. I got my iPhone and ported my number to AT&T when I activated it with the basic (450 minute) plan. About a week later, we ordered two phones through AT&T (the "free" with plan activation phones), and put in the request to port the other two numbers over and establish a family plan (700 shared minutes). When the phones arrived, we activated them and added the two plans together. We're now all on a 700 minute family plan consisting of my iPhone, and the two "free" phones.
If I had to do it over, I would probably have gotten three "free" phones, and THEN activated my iPhone to have the extra phone as a back up. If you're planning to do that, then yes, you would need to get the numbers ported over to AT&T and the new account activated, then activate your iPhone as a current customer of AT&T.
AT&T actually has very good customer service. I ended up calling them several times throughout this process, which was complicated because my son is going to school in another city about 100 miles from here and has NO access to a land line. We needed to make sure that his old phone would not be disrupted while we were getting the new account set up and the agreement from Verizon to release our numbers. Once everything was in place, we activated the new phones and he was able to use his immediately.

  • HT1338 I have an older Mac using 10.5.8 and need to upgrade the software so I can run the latest Itunes which requires 10.6.8.  My new iphone 5 needs this to load music.

? How do I upgrade my older MAC from 10.5.8 to a minimum of 10.6.8 in order to load the current iTunes software that is required for the new iphone 5?

Click here, buy and install the DVD, and then run Software Update.

  • New iPhone owner review - wish list - question

Louder and better quality speaker phone and ear speaker
    Flash Player
Wide screen option for all apps
Games or at least the one I purchased on itunes
    No special adapter for headphones
I have all things Apple. So my 2 email accounts .mac and contacts is awesome.
Goggle maps is amazing. I will not go into detail. But how it integrated into what I needed to do was a job well done.
Internet was as expected for a cell phone. iPod quality as expected.
If it never got any better. I would still have one. What it does by far out weighs was some feel it lacks. No deal breaker. Which I think comes from building so many iPods.
Two things hurt the iPhone sales. The first is the mistake marketing made in the original pricing and 2 options. They admitted the 8gb was what people wanted. So the normal Apple choice or option in this case was a mistake. The price should have been 499. Then the 100 dollar price drop would have made a ripple rather than a title wave. Marketing missed the other major factor. Flagship product introduction with preventable Bad PR.
The other (hurt) thing that will hold back sales for at least 2 years is existing contracts that cost a customer to switch carriers. I think marketing felt the 200 dollar price drop would resolve that issue. But it did not. Apple and AT&T dropped the ball on that also. Apple should have issued a store credit and AT&T a reduced pricing plan for "switchers". Yes. That would affect short term profits. But thats the mistake. Real success is in long term customers. What they missed was volume of sales ( market share ) to offset short term profits. It could have been 3 million iPhones sold and in use now instead of 1.
This leads up to my question. Why is it when I called iPhone support the staff are not trained well. Has anyone else had the same people?

I'm with you Kmosh. I hope the update, if/when it finally arrives, includes more than just iTunes/Wi-Fi stuff. There are those of us out there who use these iPhones as communications devices and not just iPods with a phone thrown in. I don't need an easier way to buy music while I'm driving down the road or sitting at work. I hope the update includes things like cut and paste, Safari Flash, more customization, and numerous other functional enhancements I've seen mentioned in this forum. I'll be less likely to be a promoter of the iPhone if all we see is music-related enhancements. I like what it does now, and I'll continue to like it, but a few improvements would be good to see.

If you are just updating, you should not be prompted for the activation lock information, but just in case you do end up restoring or the update fails, it will ask for the Apple ID and Password for the account currently listed in Settings > iCloud if Find My iPhone is enabled on that screen.
Activation lock runs off the Find My iPhone feature and not the iPhone's registration.  Device registrations can be found at supportprofile.apple.com.  More info on Activation lock can be found here.
