HT201317 Photostream doesn't work in iPhoto

I have turned on Photostream in System Preferences on my iMac, but it doesn't work. I have tried to enable it in iPhoto but it returns the message: "iPhoto was unable to connect to Photostream". I am running OS X 10.7.5. Any suggestions? There are no software updates available.

As a test launch iPhoto with the Option key held down and create a new, test library.  Enable Photo Stream in it and test to see if the same problem persists. Does it?

Sound like a trackpad problem and not an iPhoto one.  Have you asked in the forum dedicated to the Mac model you're using or is this an add on trackpad?

  • Fotostream doesn't work in iPhoto

Since two weeks Fotostream doesn't work in iPhoto. First it starts with not updating the Fotostream of my Account. I wondered and deactivated Fotostream and iCloud functionality in iPhoto. With no reaction I logged out with my Account in the OSX settings and logged in again after restarting my MacBook.
I also reinstalled iPhoto, but with my activated iCloud Account in OSX the Fotostream Page in iPhoto just shows the starting page of Fotostream with no photos in.
    Any help?

  • HT4890 my PhotoStream doesn't works. What can I do to fix it?

My ipod photo cache  folder is empty, and my PhotoStream doesn't works, neither my iTunes. What can I do to fix it? (I've already used the "reset Photo Stream" and did't worked)

There is nothing wrong with the cards.  I enter .jpg files from them into I-Photo by connecting my camera to the IMac via USB cable.
What I'm trying to do is to is to get the SD card reader to work. I understand from a conversation with an Apple tech this afternoon that the card reader is, in fact, a two way device, so I could use it to write on the SD card with pix files downloaded from my desktop.  I want to do this in order to get my .jpeg files to a local lab for printing instead of using CDs that have much less capacity (700MB vs 8.0GB).

  • Picassa iPhoto uploader doesn't work in iPhoto 08 anymore

    Hi
I post some of my photos on Picassa. With iPhoto 07, no prb: I downloaded the Picassa iPhoto uploader, and from iPhoto, I used to be able to export my albums easily. But I upgraded to iPhoto 08 few days ago, and just realized there's a bug, and the Picassa uploader doesn't work anymore: after formatting the pictures, the process freezes during the 'Create Album' step, my mac fan starts to run crazy, and I have to cancel the operation. I deleted and reinstalled the uploader, same thing. I can still use the uploader to load picture in Picassa from Finder directly, but I think it was easier and sleeker to do it from iPhoto. I'm disappointed to find such a bug. Has anyone else met that problem with Picassa, or with any other uploader? Is there a solution?
    Thanks
    Laurent

You'll have to wait until Picasa and the other plugin developers update their plugins to be compatible with iPhoto 7. The ball's in their court.
    Do you Twango?
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've written an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 08 libraries. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

  • Photostream doesn't work

Because my Ipad was defect, I received a new one from Apple.
Since I have the new Ipad, my fotostream doesn't work anymore, neither on my Iphone.
The are no pictures on my Ipad in the fotostream and the new photo's I took with my Iphone don't appear in the album My Photostream.
Has this something to do with my new Ipad?
The photostreaming is enabled at my Ipad and my Iphone.
I hope someone can help me!

    Have you tried:

  • TM doesn't work with iphoto

I have iphoto 6 and when i have it open and i click on TM in the dock it gets rid of iphoto and brings up the desktop folder instead. How can i get TM to work with iphoto visually?

Yes, that exact same order you mentioned.
Maybe it has something to do with the fact that it is a restored library from the previous iPhoto?
It just won't activate. It keeps popping up Finder...

  • A link i included on my flickr photostream doesn't work

I've linked to my Fine Arts America photos on my Flickr photos, but the link doesn't work. I've checked Safari, and with Safari, the link works.
I'm used to FireFox, so I want to continue using it.
How do I get these links to work?

    Hello,
Many site issues can be caused by corrupt cookies or cache. In order to try to fix these problems, the first step is to clear both cookies and the cache.
Note: ''This will temporarily log you out of all sites you're logged in to.''
To clear cache and cookies do the following:
#Click the menu button [[Image:New Fx Menu]], choose History, and then Clear Recent History....
#Under "Time range to clear", select "Everything".
#Now, click the arrow next to Details to toggle the Details list active.
#From the details list, check ''Cache'' and ''Cookies'' and uncheck everything else.
#Now click the ''Clear now'' button.
Further information can be found in the [[Clear your cache, history and other personal information in Firefox]] article.
Did this fix your problems? Please report back to us!

  • I reloaded Windows 7 on my laptop, and now PhotoStream doesn't work.

I've had my iPhone 4s for two months. I have iCloud set up on my laptop (running Windows 7 Home Premium), and all was working well. Things I put into my upload folder went up on my phone, and pictures I took with the phone came down to my PhotoStream folder.
I had a problem with my laptop no longer recognizing my DVD drive, and ended up reloading Windows 7 and starting over from a fresh installation. I re-installed iCloud just as before, but PhotoStream no longer functions.
Any idea how I can fix this?

For me, downloading and installing drivers from Realtek worked:
    http://218.210.127.131/downloads/downloadsCheck.aspx?Langid=1&PNid=14&PFid=24&Le vel=4&Conn=3&DownTypeID=3&GetDown=false
    choose:
Vista, Windows7, Windows8 Driver (32/64bits) Driver only (Executable file)
    Worked like a charm.

  • Photoshop (12) editor doesn't work in iPhoto?

In advanced preferences in iPhoto I indicated photos were to be edited in Photoshop Elements (12) Editor yet when I highlight a photo in iPhoto and hit edit nothing happens - I don't go to the edit function in Photoshop or in iPhoto.  I want to file my photos in iPhoto yet edit them in Photoshop and save the edited photo in iPhoto.  I did everything the tutorial video said to do but nothing is working!

You have possibly copied the wrong file or an alias. Check your settings again in iPhoto prefs and choose the app in the Support Files folder.
Applications >> Adobe Photoshop Elements 12 >> Support Files
    Choose: Photoshop Elements 12 Editor

  • Buy Book doesn't work in iPhoto 6

I have completed a Photo Book. However, pressing Buy Book does nothing at all. I have bought Apple iPhoto books before without any problems. One-click ordering is enabled for my account in the Apple Store (heard this as one possible solution) and I have deleted the old iPhoto preference file in case this was corrupted. Still no luck. Any help welcomed.

In Safari 6 with Developer Tools on go to 'Develop' in the menu bar and click 'Show Error Console' or use the keyboard shortcut Option-Command-C.
I am still working on how to get that to show up using the Inspector interface.

  • Went from Mountain Lion to Yosemite on 2009 MacBook Pro.  Safari now randomly shuts down; Word doesn't work properly; iPhoto will not upload pics from iPhone; EVERYTHING is horribly slow.  How to I go back to Mountain Lion?

Is there a way to go back to Mountain Lion after updating to Yosemite?  Yosemite has caused nothing but problems in multiple programs.  Mountain Lion ran fine.  Not sure why I even updated.  I am NOT a computer guru so instructions I have read for the many Yosemite fixes blow my mind.  Should I be taking my MacBook Pro to the Genius Bar at the nearest Apple Store (2 hours away)?  I have been a Mac user and lover for many years and am SO frustrated and disappointed in all of it right now.  Please advise on what a non-tech frustrated Mac user can do.

Technically, you can downgrade if you have the following:
Your computer must be elligible to run Mountain Lion. If your computer came with Mavericks or Yosemite out of the box, you can forget it.
You need an already existing Mountain Lion installer file. If you still have that somewhere, for example in your Applications folder, or anywhere else, it's usable- note that it needs to be originally downloaded with your own Apple ID and password. If you made a Mountain Lion USB installer or DVD back then that would work too. If your Time Machine back-ups go back to the days of Mountain Lion or Lion you could check your Applications folder from inside Time Machine and restore it to your computer.
To not have data loss you need a Time Machine back-up that goes back to when you were still running Mountain Lion. Please note that this will revert your data to exactly the date that you choose. If you installed Mavericks 2 months ago, you will loose 2 months worth of data.
