  • HT201317 Undelete from photo stream

After cleaning up/ deleting photos from either camera roll or my photo stream, I have discovered it deleted them from my Albums as well.
I know I'm stupid, so we'll forego those comments please.
Is there anyway to undelete or find the photos in rubbish bin/trash folder anywhere?
    Thanks.

Not unless you have an offline backup somewhere. the purpose of Photo Stream is as temporary storage until another device can also download your photos. Did you not connect another device to Photo Stream? If yes, then check there. Otherwise I think your out of luck. Sorry.

  • HT201317 after I have copied my photos to a folder and delete from photo stream, it deletes the ones I copied. How do I fix this?

After I copy my photos to a folder in Windows Live and delete them off photo stream, it deletes the copied photos. How do I fix this?

I know you need iTunes tosynchorinize your iPad, and i know ther is a connection kit (i searched internet before posting this question).
    The point is:
We are on vacation. the iPad is my fathers. We have here only his iPad and my laptop. We wanted to put foto's we made with a digital camera foto's on the iPad, so i connected the iPad to my laptop, and was able to copy the foto's to the iPad. So they are on the iPad, but they cannot be viewed. Since I do not want to instll software on my laptop I do not need my self, and we see no point in buyin a connection kit for one time use, it would be great if you could just copy foto's to the iPad and then view them.
I would appreciate it very much if someone could tell me how to do this. I am not used to working with tablets.so I am used to thinking "PC wise": youo copy files to a location on your computer and then you use a program to open those files. I know it works differently on an iPad, but it woul be great if this was one option that also would be available.

  • HT201317 How do you save photos from photo stream to a Mac and then delete them from iPad?

I am trying to transfer photos taken from my iPad (where they were taken) and want them saved on my Mac using the icloud and photo stream where the photos now reside.  If I saved them as events on the MAC can they now be deleted from the photo stream?

Yes.  Set up iPhoto's Photo Stream preferences like this:
The photos get imported into an Event automatically.  Always confirm that the photos have been safely imported before deleting off your iPad.  Sometimes importing takes a while and you don't wan't to jump the gun on the iPad.

  • HT201317 If my photo stream did not completely finish downloading my pictures, how can I get it to resume downloading?

How can I get my pictures to continue downloading?

You could turn off photo stream and then turn it back on.  The one danger to that is if you have some pix that are more than 30 days old in your photo stream album on the device.  When doing the off/on, I pretty sure all pix will be deleted from that album and when turned on again, only those pix in the stream on the icloud server will download (those under 30 days old).

  • Photos deletes from albums when deleting from photo stream.

I just updated to the new Photos App. If  I take a picture with my iPhone, it appears on the photo stream on my Mac, of course. However, if I move the photo to an album, and then try to delete the photo from my photo stream, Photos also deletes the photo from the album! This happens even if I place the photo in a Smart Album. I tried following the Apple instructions given. They said to click on a photo I wanted to keep on my computer, and then click on the "share" option, Then I would be given the option to save the file to my computer. However, I am not given that option at all. I am only given the option to save it to iCloud  or some other cloud-based place. I only want to save it on my computer, not on iCloud. I have iCloud turned off, but photo stream turned on. Right now, the only way to keep pictures in albums is to go to the "recently deleted" file and "recover" them. This seems absurd to me. There has got to be a better way. Is anyone else having this same problem?
This also happens with any other photos from my computer that I manually place into Photos. They get dumped into the Photo Stream, the no-man's land where they are temporarily there but not really there. And I cannot move them out of this temporary holding place without going through the above process of deleting them from photo stream and everywhere else and then recovering them. Help!

There are 9 different versions of iPhoto and they run on 9 different versions of the Operating System. The tricks and tips for dealing with issues vary depending on the version of iPhoto and the version of the OS. So to get help you need to give as much information as you can. Include things like:
    - What version of iPhoto.
    - What version of the Operating System.
    - Details. As full a description of the problem as you can. For example, if you have a problem with exporting, then explain by describing how you are trying to export, and so on.
    - History: Is this going on long? Has anything been installed or deleted? - Are there error messages?
    - What steps have you tried already to solve the issue.
    - Anything unusual about your set up? Or how you use iPhoto?
Anything else you can think of that might help someone understand the problem you have.

  • I need to free up storage on my iPhone 4s to do an update.  I have turned off my photo stream, but when I go into Usage Settings, it says that photo stream is using 3.7gb of space.  How do I get rid of this?

iCloud is not designed to "store" photos (as in long term storage).  iCloud can be used to sync photos from one device to another (photo stream) and to store a backup of the camera roll.  But that's pretty much it.
Camera roll is the group of all photos taken by the device (but not other photos synced to the device from another source).  Your extra storage on icloud will do you no good.  The recommended way of storing photos on a device is to sync them to a computer.
    So, your questions..
    1) You don't/can't
    2) No, because of 1.
    3) On a computer, deleting large groups of photos is relatively painless.  not so on a device.
    4) You can't access photos on iCloud because they can't be store in icloud.  You can't view/access photos in a backup on icloud unless you restore a backup to a device.

  • Is there a way to delete photos from Photo Stream on my macbook pro? (Not from my folders, etc.) I need to empty the photo stream. Something in my photo stream has corrupted my phone and my apple specialist suggested I do this.

Is there a way to delete the photos in Photo Stream on my mackbook pro notebook?
My phone became corrupted today and, after continuing to have problems with 2 new phones, the apple specialists determined that the only possible explanation was the presence of a corrupted photo or video in photo stream; and that the only way to use my phone without it shutting down was to deactivate the photo stream on it.  It worked, but I would like to be able to have the option of using photostream again. The apple folks suggested that I delete all photos from photo stream on my computer; and then, when it is "empty", reactivate it on my phone? Is anyone familiar with this problem?

  • Does Aperture need to be open to import from photo stream?

    Hi,
My photostream is linked to Aperture.  Does Aperture need to be open to import from photo stream or will it still import while it's not running?
    Thanks!
    Mavericks 10.9
    Aperture 3.5

Might seem silly but is there any way to request a daemon be created to handle this magically in the background? Or open and push iPhoto to the background so I don't know its running?

  • If I delete photos from photo stream to create space will it also delete my back-ups in 'Photos' automatically stored under 'photo stream'?

I need to create space on my iphone4. I have moved all my photo stream pics to 'Photos' Library on my mac which were automatically labelled 'photo stream' there. Now I want to delete all my photo stream, however I am afraid it will delete the newly transfered pics labelled 'photo stream' in the library. Is it safe to delete?

If you enabled Automatic Import in iPhone>Preferences>Photo Stream, you photo stream photos should be safely imported to your iPhoto library.  You can check by control-clicking on any photo stream photos; if it says "Show in Library" on the pop-up that opens, it has been imported to your library.  Once the photos are in your iPhoto library, you can safely delete them from photo stream on your phone.
(You can test this by taking a test photo on your phone, waiting for it to upload to photo stream and import to your iPhoto library, then deleting it from photo stream on your phone and confirming that it is still in your iPhoto library on your Mac.)

  • HP Envy 7645 won't print from photo tray

FIXED my own problem!Never thought to try setting the paper size to 4x6 in/10x25 cm! That's apparently what I get for being metric-phobic (or ignorant). But really, why provide a 4x6 option in the first place?  I can't get my Envy 7645 printer to print from the photo tray.  I'm specifically trying to print from the Photos app. I select the print option, set the printer, paper size (4x6), and paper options to "print from photo tray." I select print, and the HP print dialog appears and from there I am unable to set the photo tray as the paper source. The dialog comes up with "Default Settings" as the Presets option and when I scroll down through the dialog to select the Paper Type/Quality option, it shows paper type as HP Photo Papers, Quality is set to Normal, and the Source is set to Automatic (which fails to print from the photo tray; it defaults to the main tray). When I try to shift from Automatic to Photo Tray, I get an error message that says "The paper size selected is not supported by the Photo Tray. To print with the Photo Tray, go to the Page Setup dialog, choose a paper size supported by this tray, and then return to the Print dialog." At this point, I have no idea where to find the Page Setup dialog (it's not immediately apparent in the avialable options and I can't seem to find it under any of the Photos print options). Further, I don't understand why I'm getting the error in the first place as the paper installed in the tray is, indeed, 4x6 (as set in the original Photos dialog). I've tried playing with any number of varities of options (e.g, changing from HP Photo Papers to the generic other photo papers option, not specifying size of photo paper) and any time I select the photo tray option, I get the error message.

Hey ,  Welcome to the HP Support Forum.  Did you still need assistance?  I see that you have some interface questions about printing photos from a Yosemite Mac using your HP ENVY 7645 e-All-in-One Printer.  I would like to help.  Have you installed your printer's full-feature driver on the Mac?  If not, click here to install. Also, for your information, your printer's specifications re: supported photo paper sizes is available here.       When I tried printing a photo from my Yosemite machine (albeit with a different printer) this is how I configured the print job:   If I had the option I would also recommend setting the paper type to correspond with whatever kind of photo paper you're using.  If this approach doesn't help try the following steps:  Uninstall your printer - click here for instructions.  Repair disk permissions on your Mac - click here for instructions.  Once you've finished running the above-noted utility, restart your computer. Lastly, click here to reinstall your printer.  Please let me know the result of your troubleshooting by responding to this post.  If I have helped you resolve the issue, feel free to give me a virtual high-five by clicking the 'Thumbs Up' icon below and clicking to accept this solution. Thank you for posting in the HP Support Forum.  Have a great day!

  • I have a different Apple id on my PowerBook from that on my iMac and iPad. Photo Stream does not connect to my Powerbook. How do I change the Apple id in iCloud on my PowerBook? Will this link all 3 machines to PhotoStream?

You can't simply change the details.
In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iCloud account on your computer, you need to sign out of the account from your computer first, then sign back in using your updated details. (System Preferences > iCloud, click the sign out button)

  • I had a one on one with my apple rep yesterday.  They backed up all my photos on my computer.  I was advised to delete photos from Photo stream on my iPhone and iPad and then back it up.  I did backup the iPhone, ipad back not possible not enought space

    Hello,
I had a one on one with my apple rep yesterday.  They backed up my camera roll from my iphone as well as my ipad on my computer as I was not able to backup to icloud due to lack of space.
They advised me to delete photos from my photo stream on my iphone and ipad and then do a back up.
I deleted the photos from photo stream on my iphone and ipad.
I was able to backup my iphone but NOT my ipad as it is saying that there is not enough room on icloud to do this back up.
    Any solution?

  • Aperture photos from Photo Stream not syncing in iTunes

    Hi
I am running Aperture 3.4.3 on an iMac running 10.8.2.  I have Photo Stream enabled.  When I open Aperture, it downloads all the recent photos from Photo Stream and puts them in to one or more automatically created projects called something like "Mar 2013 Photo Stream".  As I understand it, Aperture is copying the photos from Photo Stream to these new projects, so when Photo Stream eventually deletes the photos (say because I reach the 1000 photo limit), the downloaded versions in Aperture won't affected.  So far, so good.
Because the new projects in Aperture start with the month name, I have taken to renaming these folders to something like "2013 03 March Photo Stream", and you can then sort them alphabetically.  This might be red herring though.
When I open iTunes and connect my iPhone, I have selected to sync photos from all Events in the last 12 months.  This should include all the projects that were created in Aperture.  This is where I hit the problem.  Some of the projects sync just fine.  Others do not.  When they don't sync, 2 things happen:
    1. The Events don't appear on the iPhone
    2. When I look in iTunes, all the affected Events have the same item count.  The item count is correct for one project, but not the others.  So, for example, I have 4 projects at the moment that won't sync, and all show in iTunes with an item count of 1.  Only one project actually contains 1 photo, the rest have many more.
I have tried all sorts of things in Aperture, such as rebuilding the data, deleting the iPod Photo Cache etc.
    Does anyone have any idea?
    Thanks.

As far as I can tell, my problems have been caused by me renaming the automatic import projects in Aperture.  I did notice that Aperture kept creating new empty projects for the same month.
This solution from Jannem1970, posted on this thread https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3585677?start=0&tstart=0, seems to have done the trick for me.
    - turn off automatic import for Photo Stream;
    - identify 'the ghost'-projectfolders, select and delete them;
    - close Aperture (this saves the current setting and condition of your library);
    - open Aperture again;
    - turn on automatic import for Photo Stream.
