iCloud requires OS X Lion (10.7.2) or higher. You will need to upgrade to either Lion or Mountain Lion in order to set up iCloud on your Mac. First check to see if your system meets the system requirements to upgrade.
Lion system requirements are:
Mac computer with an Intel Core 2 Duo, Core i3, Core i5, Core i7, or Xeon processor
2GB of memory
OS X v10.6.6 or later (v10.6.8 recommended)
7GB of available space

If you can run Mountain Lion, you can purchase an upgrade from the Mac App Store. If you can only run Lion, contact the online store in your country and purchase a download code to download it from the Mac App Store.
After upgrading, you will find iCloud in System Preferences>iCloud on your Mac, and can set it up as explained here: http://www.apple.com/icloud/setup/mac.html.

Trying to verify my iTunes account, but don't have access to email

I've been trying to verify my iTunes account in order to sync some music from my iPod to my computer, but after logging in it says that verification is necessary via email. I can't remember the password and recovery is out of the question since in my haste to make this mule account I but in bogus information. Is there any other way to verify my iTunes account?

Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
Or this - Delete the account in Mail and then set it up again. Settings->Mail, Contacts, Calendars -> Accounts Tap on the Account, then on the red button that says Remove Account.

I'd rather be safe than sorry, so I'll go ahead and take a loss on the 38 bucks. Removal is simple.
If you used MacKeeper to encrypt any files, un-encrypt them first.
Quit MacKeeper.
Drag the MacKeeper icon from the Applications folder (not the Dock) to the Trash.
You will see this dialog box:
Type your Password and click OK.
You will then see this dialog box:
You do not need to provide a reason.
Click the "Uninstall MacKeeper" button. You will need to authenticate again (first screenshot).
That's all there is to it. All of MacKeeper's pieces will be gone, except for a log file that is inert and can be ignored.

Hello, I just received an iMac G3 (600mhz) in the mail. Something happened to it which it causing a weird high pitched sound upon startup. It won't continue into the logon screen. I will be opening this G3 up in a few hours. Please tell me what the insides should look like -- what the pheriphials should be like, and connected to -- whatever else is relavant, such as the logic board. What should everything look like? You may search online to see if anyone formerly in the service business has older .pdf manuals for sale, maybe along with any older parts or vintage tools. That's a long shot. A local user group of vintage computer owners may also have some leads. A few with libraries of older tech database may have pdfs on DVDs.

I have looked at icloud.com/find numerous times and my iPad is not showing at all (see picture below). As I said I did turn off 'Find My iPhone' on my iPad and then erase all settings and data before taking it to the repair centre.
The gentleman at the repair centre said that the device won't restore because "Apple thinks that 'Find My iPhone' is still turned on" (I'm repeating what he said).

Within this commonfiles\apple folder, there is only one folder, labeled "Internet Services." Within this folder, there are 6 folders, labeled:
APLZOD.resources
BookmarkDAV_client.resources
CoreDAV.resources
iCloud.resources
iCloudServices.resources
ShellStreams.resources
Within all but CoreDAV and BookmarkDAV_client, there are multiple different folders, all labeled starting with a two letter (acronym I believe, for different languages) then .lproj (for example, a folder is labeled "ar.lproj".
In each of the folders of APLZOD.resources, there is a file labeled "APLZODlocalized.dll."
In all of the folders containing the multiple .lproj folders, there are likewise "name"localized.dll files contained.
In the BookmarkDAV_client and Core DAV folders, they each contain only one file, "Info.plist"
I attempted to delete all of these files, and still, the FileAssassin could not delete them. I unlocked one of them for instance, and I tried to delete the file myself (thru windows explorer and just clicking delete), and I still had the same issue of coming eventually to the window requesting me to "try again" to have permission.
What can I do?? I'd like to avoid Unlocker, but if it really is a reliable and SAFE program, and someone knows a SAFE place to download it from, I'd appreciate it very much so!!

You have to respond to the verification email that Apple should have sent to you by clicking the Verify Now link. Make sure you check the email address you used to set up your iCloud account. This would not normally be an @icloud.com email address. Also make sure you check the spam/junk folder as well as the inbox. If it isn't there, go to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage your Apple ID, sign in, click on Name, ID and Email addresses on the left, then to the right click Resend under your Primary Email Address to resend the verification email.
