I purchased and added iTunes credit to my daughter's account and then upgraded her iCloud storage without any trouble however, a month later Apple sent an email that they were unable to bill for this month. Her iTunes account has nearly $15 in credit and she's only on the $0.99/per month upgrade. Can't iTunes credit be used for iCloud purchases? I seem to recall that my iCloud renewed last year from a credit I had in my account.

You need a CC to purchase a gift card with you iTunes account.

I see MS is jumping in on the cloud storage bandwagon with a 7gb offering. Can anybody tell me if the storage payment on the icloud is an annual paymant or a one off payment for life? I currently have 115gb with google but in todays harsh economic climate sourcing better/cheaper storage is becoming the order of the day.

I mainly use dropbox and box (and box mostly). I don't know if the deal is still on, but if you set up a box account and then install and login from the iOS app, they give you 50GB free for life. At least they were doing that - not sure if they still do or not.
Both work well with the apps I use them with. I also have a 4shared and SugarSync account, but do not use them for much (4Shared for some work stuff).
Its really one of those things you should try out for yourself to see what you like - much of the differences between them all (at least for free accounts) turns out to be pretty minor in day to day use. The main thing is are they supported in the iOS apps you routinely use? I dislike Google Drive since I do not use Google's native tools and do not work with Google native files and so it offers me nothing extra than any other online storage and I have to make sure that the auto-conversion features are disabled.
As more of the apps I use also include the option of ftp/sftp to any server address you have accounts on, I am using my hosting services storage more and more since I pay for it anyway as part of my hosting fees, and I think I get 250GB-300GB with them.

I looked at KB25882 and my settings are good, so that didn't help.
I had this problem over a year ago, and someone at RIM found a bit set that shouldn't have been set and fixed it (that is my terminology for what happened).
I am really looking for a way to contact RIM directly. I hate going through the mill with my carrier to get it escalated to RIM for resolution...... <sigh>

You can use them to buy ibooks from the ibookstore - and also for items from iTunes, the app store and Mac App Store.
I assume that you are going to give the card(s) as presents ? You can't buy a card, redeem it onto your account, and then use your account's balance to gift items from the store, gifting can only be done via a credit card (and ibooks can't be gifted).

Accepted payment methods for iCloud storage upgrades include credit cards, debit cards, and iTunes Store credit. If you don't have enough iTunes store credit to complete your upgrade, you'll be charged the remaining amount. Apple Store gift cards are not accepted as payment for upgrading iCloud storage.

FIX: Unable to update/change credit card for iCloud Storage

You may get an email from Apple that says that they are having a problem processing your credit card for iCloud Storage. The email then goes on to give you three instructions to fix this by tapping on SETTINGS -> iCLOUD then tapping on "Account" and then following on-screen instructions.
If (like me) you see that your card is OK but you are still getting the email and you cannot edit the payment details, this is what you do.
Turn off Family Sharing.
Once this is done, you will then see that the old card details are really what is trying to be used, and you can then update your payment option. This is not known about in front line support and it was only a high ranking tech support person in iTunes support who mentioned this in passing as a possible cure. Share it please as failing to get your payment option correct can result in losing your iCloud Storage Plan and placing you back at basic free levels.

The payment associated with your account is for all iTunes and App store related purchases. If you already have a valid payment method in place, you shouldn't be asked for one when you purchased additional iCloud storage.

Your iCloud storage is linked to your Apple ID, you can't unlink the devices unless you use separate Apple ID's for each device. That's not a good idea as you will have to pay for the same purchases twice on each device and you don't want to do that.
Backup with iTunes where the size of you backup is only limited by the a amount of available space that you have on your computer, buy more storage in iCloud, or .... and this makes no sense either but it is a possibility ... remove one of the devices from iCloud and backup one in iTunes. If you are going to backup with iTunes, backup both devices with iTunes and leave iCloud alone.
You don't need to backup with iCloud if you backup with iTunes and you can still download your past purchases without having to actually use iCloud for backups.

Hi, I want to rent movies on ATV and use my itunes credit to pay for them, however there is no option to select payment method and ATV automatically charges my credit card. I have used itunes credit in the past with Apple TV without needing to do anything, but now it only allows me to rent movies with my saved credit card. Is there a way to do this without deleting the Credit card info.?

Not purchased anything recently but in the past it has always used credit first.
Contact iTunes Store support - maybe they can adjust the account and refund to cc and figure out why it's doing this.

Depends upon what you mean by change.
If you update your existing account to have a new primary email address then you shouldn't lose any of the account's past purchases, balance, or iCloud storage - you may have to log out of the old version of your account by tapping on it in Settings > iTunes & App Store and then log back in with the updated version, and similarly for iCloud (Settings > iCloud > Sign Out).
If you create a new account then your existing account's purchases, balance and iCloud storage will remain tied to the existing account, you can't transfer them to a new account or merge the new account with the old one.
