Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
Or this - Delete the account in Mail and then set it up again. Settings->Mail, Contacts, Calendars -> Accounts Tap on the Account, then on the red button that says Remove Account.

Added email account, don't want separate inbox, etc.

What a PITA! I just registered, spent a while typing, responded to confirmation email, spent a while more typing, and got "Access Denied" when I hit submit. Everything I had typed is gone, and I have to start all over again! I repeat - PITA! The re-type will be a bit more bare-bones. I hope it's enough to get help.
I've been using Tbird since 2009. 4 email accounts, all pop3 configured to use a single Local Folders Inbox. I use popfile to classify/sort incoming mail & message filters to move them into 20+ different folders under Local Folders. It's been working perfectly for years.
I just added another gmail account, configured EXACTLY like the others. But the new one shows up as a separate account above Local Folders in the folder list, with its own inbox & trash folders. NONE of the other 4 accounts show up there. I get duplicates of all incoming mail on this new account - 1 in the account's own inbox, and 1 in the "common" inbox that then gets moved into the correct local folder by the message filter. And the extra account in the folder list causes a couple folders to "fall off" the bottom of my screen. I've set it up VERY carefully so everything fits on my screen WITHOUT SCROLLING. Except that it DOESN'T fit anymore!
What have I done wrong?

Nevermind - I FINALLY found it. Under advanced server settings - use other account's inbox. It's been TOO long since I set up all those other accounts!

Auto adding email accounts to users Outlook

Hi guys,
We use Microsoft Exchange 2013 (as well as Outlook 365) to manage our email accounts.
When we add a 2nd email account to a users account the user still has to manually add the email account in Outlook. Is there a way or setting where if we add an email account to a users mailbox it will automatically populate in their Outlook?

are you adding 2nd email account as extra profile or additional mailbox?
Run this command to enabled automapping:
Add-MailboxPermission -Identity “[email protected]”
-User “[email protected]” -AccessRights FullAccess -InheritanceType All -Automapping $true.
If you grant access for another mailbox thru acces groups,automapping wont work.It has to be granted directly or use the abow command.

Trying to import contacts from added email account?

I Have added a Gmail email account in Settings, which a colleague has been using to communicate with our choir members. I have ensured Contacts is on ( showing green). When I go into my contacts, I cannot see any of the new contacts, although I can address an email, if I start to type in a name in the address field, it presents option of email address. So, it seems the contacts are there somewhere just not showing. I need to set up groups within these contacts, so obviously need to see them in order to do this. I do select "Show All contacts" when in my Contacts. I have also tried un ticking other emails in Contacts, and just leaving this email address contacts ticked, but it says there are no contacts! Can anyone help please.

Assuming you have an iOS device, do the following:
Add your Google contacts to your iOS device as explained here: https://support.google.com/mail/answer/2753077.
If you are syncing contacts with iCloud on your iOS device, go to Settings>iCloud, turn Contacts to Off and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (they will still be in iCloud).
Download the app My Contacts Backup. Use this on your iOS device to backup the Google contacts as a vCard attachment to an email that you send to yourself. Confirm that you have received the email.
Go to Settings>iCloud and turn Contacts to On.
Go to Settings>Mail,Contacts,Calendars>Default Account (in the Contacts section), set this to iCloud.
Go to Settings>Mail,Contacts,Calendars...tap your Gmail account and turn Contacts to off.
Open the My Contacts Backup email and tap the attachment to import the Google contacts back to your device and to iCloud. You can delete the Gmail account now if you don't want to use it.

BBerry Curve 8310 Adding Email Account

Hello, I've used a BBerry Curve 8310 with T Mobile for 2 years with enterprise account, works great, added and removed email addresses as needed.
The "Add/Remove Email Address" feature is no longer on the main page, seems to have disappeared. I tried "Show All", it is not hidden, just not there.
Tried to add an email account through Setup Wizard, not working.
A) Is there a way to add back the Add/Remove Email Address feature?
B) Is there another means of adding/removing an email address?

Disable adding email account iPhone

I have Restrictions enabled on my 14 year old son's iphone 3g (running iOS 4.2) but have been unable to configure the restrictions so he CANNOT add an email account (and subsequently send and receive email). There is a setting that makes it possible turn Allow Changes for Accounts to OFF which DOES seem to prevent someone from changing the settings on an existing email account but it DOES NOT prevent someone from launching the Email App and adding an email account (in the Welcome to Mail screen where all of the various email providers are listed). Anyone know what to do?

Well that may be what was intended (which makes sense) but that is NOT what I am experiencing. I have enabled "Restrictions" and in the section titled "Allow Changes:" I have turned "Accounts" to OFF.
When I launch the Mail app, I get a "Welcome to Mail" screen which has the following options:
Microsoft Exchange
mobileme
Gmail
Yahoo!
Aol.
Other
I can then easily add my Gmail and Yahoo accounts. I can not, however, delete them once they've been added.
Is this a bug in iOS 4.2 or am I missing something?

Z10 not adding email accounts

i had added an imap email account to by blackberry yesterday. however, i faced issues with mails not being sent the entire day and though id better delete the email account and re-set-up.
What i have since found is that each time i try and add the same email address, i go through the entire motion of inputing the server etc data and press Done. Once the screen reverts back to the email accounts window, the new email address has not been set-up.
is there a way around this as i am unable to really use my BB Z10 at present without email.

Interesting, your BBM contacts should all be tied to your BlackberryID, so they should come back. Some other users have seen this issue, one was in this thread here and they seemed to have success restoring them by entering airplane mode and switching back out, which essentially turns off all of the radios and then pops them all back on.
Maybe that will work, although your issue seems slightly different so maybe it won't help?

PROBLEM ADDING EMAIL ACCOUNTS

Hope someone can help me.
I have just received my Iphone 3Gs. I have been trying for hours to sync my google mail accounts
to the phone via itunes and also manually but so far only one will sync and download emails?
The phone keeps saying my password is wrong when it isn't.
I have tried re-setting and the same problem still exists. I have tried via Itunes and then manually adding my password to the iphone and still the problem exists.
Can anyone help please as this is very annoying.

Deselect sync email account settings under the Info tab for your iPhone sync preferences with iTunes followed by selecting Apply.
Follow this by deleting and manually recreating the accounts on your iPhone.
If this is successful, do not reselect sync email account settings under the Info tab for your iPhone sync preferences with iTunes which is a one way transfer process only - from your computer to your iPhone which doesn't always work properly. If this does work and you reselect this after doing so followed by a sync, you will re-transfer the problem to your iPhone.

If you want to log into your account on the phone then you can only do that directly on the phone : Settings > iTunes & App Store

BlackBerry 8800 and adding Email Account

Instead of setting your BIS up via the phone, you can go to your carrier's BIS site via your PC to do so. You can find your carrier's site from this page: http://www.blackberryfaq.com/index.php/Where_can_I_log_into_my_BIS_account%3F
One of the reason you do not have the BIS setup option from your phone may due to your carrier didn't provision BIS for your account on the RIM relay, contact them and do confirm.
