HT201320 Changed apple ID and my icloud account. Ever since this change, I am unable to access my email?
I changed my apple ID and my icould account. Ever since this change, i am unable to access my email. everytime i open my Yahoo Inbox, I get this msg saying "Cannot Get Mail" "The connection to the server failed". but 'm on wifi and can access all sorts of pages and games. My Cellular data for my email is "on"
The email opens but it does not upload new emails.
If you use iCloud as well, you can try adding it back to your accounts as well. I have 7 email accounts (including iCloud and a Yahoo account) in mail on my iPhone and iPad and have no problems with them. I suspect it was not removing iCloud that fixed your problem, it was the re-entering the Yahoo account login credentials (maybe they just got corrupted - could be as simple as that).
If you do add iCloud back, and it causes problems right away with your Yahoo, then you should send a ticket in to the iCloud support folks as that would seem to be something not working correctly?

Also if you actually deleted the iCloud account, remember you can keep the account, and just disable it for mail in the iCloud settings (so you can keep using iCloud for other features even if you do not want to use iCloud mail).

Well, yeah. You want to create separate accounts for each of you, using individual Apple IDs. I know mothers and daughters like to share clothes, shoes, handbags, etc. but don't share Apple IDs. -
If I change the password for my icloud account will it also change my apple ID password?
the two passwords are the same now - If I change my icloud password does that automatically change my apple ID password or do I have to change it seperately?
If you change the password for your iCloud ID, you have to change it on any services you use the ID for on your device. If you use the same ID for purchasing, go to Settings>iTunes & App Stores, tap the ID, sign out, then sign back in using your new password. If you use it for iMessage, do the same thing in Settings>Messages>Send & Receive. If you use it for FaceTime, do the same thing in Settings>FaceTime.
To change it for iCloud, you have to go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account, then sign back in using your new password. When you delete the account it only deletes the account and your synced data from yor iPad, not from iCloud. Provided you are signing back into the same account and not changing accounts, your data will be synced back to your iPad when you sign back in. -

Each iCloud account has a separate ID. You can't have two accounts with the same ID.
If you want to consolidate them, choose the device with the account on it that you want to abandon, then save any photo stream photos that you want to keep to your camera roll (unless already there) by opening your my photo stream album, tapping Select, tapping the photos, tap the share icon (box with upward facing arrow), then tapping Save to Camera Roll. If you are syncing notes with the account that you want to keep, you'll need to open each of your notes and email them to yourself so you can later copy and paste the text into new notes created in your other account. Then go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account, provide your password (if using iOS 7) and choose Keep on My iDevice when prompted. Then sign into the account you want to merge with and choose Merge when prompted.
You cannot move iCloud email accounts between iCloud accounts so you will have to leave it behind. You can set email forwarding to the new email account, or add the email account back to your devices as a secondary account by going to Settings>Mail,Contacts,Calendars>Add Account>iCoud, signing in to the account and enabling Mail. Email in this secondary account will only be fetched periodically as push email is only supported in your primary account. -

I set up the imac and Air with one user account. this was used to activae iCloud on both machines and I have now se up one iCloud account and managed to share calander and contacts between the two. Ultimately both me and my wife will have an iphone and we wish to share calenders and contacts. We both also use the imac and air on one user account. I changed my email for my Apple ID, but on my iCloud it's still registered under my old email, but I can't change it. The only option it has for me to do is to delete that account from my phone but I don't want to lose anything I have on my phone that is linked to my iCloud account
If you go to your iTunes account on the computer, where you changed your email account info, you find a link to other changes for your account info. You may have done all that already, if so next you have to change the info on the device.
To change the device info:
Step 1. Connect to iTunes on the computer and on the "Info" page, check the sync info box. You should notice a change in your email info on the screen . Sync device to the computer.
Step 2. note at the bottom of this "Info" screen a note that says to change you iPad info: Go to Settings on the iPad, then Mail, Contacts, Calendars. Change your email account information here. -
I cannot purchase items in the APP store as well. Indicated password is incorrect. Changed in itunes and and can access information there with ID and passwork, cannot purchase or get app's to recognize current password on any device.

I have just updated my iphone 4 to OS 6.0, but since then I can't access my emails as when trying to open a particular email I am presented with a blank screen. Other apps such as facebook and ebay take an absolute age to open.
Is anyone else having problems? what can I do to put it right?I am having this problem. At first with the new iPhone 5, and then with the iPad 2. I am not sure why this is happening.
My gut feeling is this is an iO6 issue and here's why -
The problem mainly occurs with apps. I have about 150 apps, and when I plugged in the phone, iTunes went to sync all of them. The process would hang up after about 20 - 30 apps were loaded onto the phone. I could tell where about the process hung up because the apps on the phone showed up as "waiting".
Then on the iPad 2 I plugged in to sync and saw there was a huge "Other" component in my storage. It required me to restore the iPad 2 from backup. With this restore the same issues occurred - putting the apps back on the iPad would hang up. The videos on the iPad also got stuck - maybe after about 10 hours of videos transfered iTunes crashed.
My solution has been to soft reset the device, restart Windows, and continue the process until it's complete. This is remarkably inefficient and time-intensive but everything works with patience.
I have been wondering if others have had these same problems. -

Shared Apple ID, but separate iCloud accounts
Right now, my wife and I share both an Apple ID and an iCloud account. I will soon be buying a new MBP for my new business. I'd like to move my contacts and calendars over to iCloud from Google. But, my wife currently keeps her contacts in iCloud. Can I create a separate iCloud account for myself while still sharing the Apple ID so we can share apps?
ThanksOn an iDevice or a Mac you can always chose another account for the uTunes store for sharing your apps. Take a new iCloud account for yourself for all other things than the iTunes/MacAppStore.

Apple IDs never go away, so it still exists.
But lets be clear. You actually stopped using an Apple ID and created a NEW Apple ID. You didn't just change the email address of your Apple ID? That means that all of the music and apps purchased with the old Apple ID will have to be purchased again.
If you really did create a new Apple ID you will need the password associated with the old one to disable Activation Lock. There is no way around this. As I said, the old one still exists. You can use the standard tools to recover the password at https://appleid.apple.com. -
I am trying to reset my apple id under icloud account information on the original pc that I set the account up. I have changed email addresses now and would like to change to new address. I have gone through the steps on changing apple id and password and have my phone hooked up to pc but it will not change over to the new address and password thus I can not order any apps or use icloud. Help!
Go to Settings, and then turn iMessage and FaceTime on if they are off. If they are on, then turn them both off, restart the phone, then turn them back on.
Go back to Settings > iCloud. Whether the current or old email address is displayed there, try your current password. -

To change the iCloud ID you have to go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account, provide the password for the old ID when prompted to turn off Find My iDevice, then sign back in with the ID you wish to use. If you don't know the password for your old ID, or if it isn't accepted, and your old ID is an earlier version of your current ID, go to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID. Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change. Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address. You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iDevice on your device, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then save any photo stream photos that you wish to keep to your camera roll. When finished go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud). Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was. Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current iCloud ID and password.
