    I have a web based new work email account from my Company that is working fairly well on my iPhone 5 and my iPad 4. However no matter what I do in the settings every email that comes in to both device comes in silent with no tone or vibration. Both devices are working fine and my other personal accounts are also working fine with Tones and Vibrations. I do not understand what is going on. I am on a loud Construction site all day and I need to have that working well. Can you help me out?

    ps when syncing it jumps through steps 1 - 4 real fast, i seem to remeber iphone showing the number of tracks transferring and names, but i see nothing? then it sits on 5 saying "waiting for changes to be applied"

    Since I upgraded to ios7 my main email account within mac mail has been loading up to 1000 emails.  I want it to be as before, a limit of 200.  How???

    appartently the only solution is to mark all the emails as read but it eats up the internal memory. pretty dissappointing.

    How do I set up a POP3 email account on my iPhone5s, using iOS 7.1.1.  All the help I have found tells me to select IMAP or POP but I am not given the choice.  I need to be able to set 'Don't delete from mail server' which can't be done in IMAP.

  • HT201320 how can i stop automatic configuration of email accounts on my ipad...the ports are not correct and i cannot access my email

         i cannot get my "frontier" email account set up on my ipad so that i cannot either or receive email.  Frontier says that the "automatic" verifying tool puts the wrong ports in and that is why i cannot get or send emails from the ipad.  We know we have the correct name and password in but when in comes to verifying, an error message comes up and says "the wrong user name or password has been entered".
          How do i disable the automatic set up of email so i can be assured the correct ports are enabled?

    -Tap "Settings" app,
    -Select "Mail, Contacts, Calendars" option on the left hand side,
    -On the right, under "Accounts" on top, tap "Add Account...",
    -Select one of the email service providers or "Other",
    -Under "Mail", tap "Add Mail Account",
    -A window pops up and enter your new email account details.
    -Repeat for new email accounts.

    You should be able to add the email account to the Mail app like you add any account.
    You can also go to Settings>iClould and change the iCloud account but you can't have both account on at the same time.

    You have to select between the two accounts in the mail app.
    Say for instance that you are reading an email in your XYZ email account. Tap the button in the upper left corner of the mail app to back out all the way to where you can see all of the email accounts.... Tap InBox, then tap XYZ email Account and that will take you back to the main MailBoxes window.
    Is that what you want to know? There is no way to simply "toggle" between the two accounts.

    You would need to speak with your email provider or google them, sometimes a nice admin will have how to pages posted.

    Just because it is an 'old' email doesn't mean it's not a valid Apple ID account.
    Is the email that is showing one of your old email accounts?  If so, did you ever edit your Apple ID and change the primary email of your Apple ID to a new email, or did you simple create a totally new Apple ID?

    My guess is the problem with the square is being caused by incomplete or broken html in the Email Signature.  I think the Signature panel doesn't know how to fix HTML.  But the email app does... so this is why you copy a complete & pre-formatted email message: entirely. 
    I walked through the directions above, exactly, and it works with (in my case) even oversized JPG files in the signature.
    By copy and pasting the whole message body, you'll retain the html formatting &, in my case, the image too.  Running iOS 8.1 & it worked after a few tries. 
    Keep trying combinations... you'll get it.

    Hi, Apple Mail provides a function to create sub-folders within my mailbox so that I can group emails of similar subjects or from the same sender. My service provider only provides POP email protocol and the New Folder button does not appear in my Apple Mail account for that service provider. Icloud provides the opportunity for the iPad user to select between POP and IMAP. I can select IMAP and the New Folder button appears allowing me to create sub-folders within the icloud email account. Does this mean I cannot create sub-folders in my email account unless my service provider provides customers with the option of creating an IMAP email account?
    This appears to be a problem for quite a few Apple Mail users, but service providers appear reticent to provide a response other than 'use Microsoft Exchange / Hotmail, Google GMail, or some other third party email service provider'. This is why I have chosen icloud as my email service provider. It is Apple and therefore Apple supports it. I have been a Telstra customer for over 15 years and they informed me today, strongly, that they support their own products and services, not Apple products, even though Telstra sell them. When I asked the Telstra Customer Support Manager whether they support Telstra customers, I was informed 'no, because the Telstra customer is not a Telstra product or service'. I have since cancelled my Telstra email account and am in the process of cancelling all of my Telstra services.

    Yes. That is what it means. You need an IMAP account in order to create sub folders on the iPad.

    Frustrated Mom here . . . I did everything you advised and followed all other tech tips.  I am trying to add a new email for my son's ipod, while keeping my ID and password for approval of downloads, purchases, etc.  We created a yahoo address for him and verified and added that email address to his ipod.  But he is still not receiving texts from me (from my iphone).
    Any advice???

    My BtYahoo account was "compromised" on the evening of 4th Feb......it affected tablets etc.   As requested by BT Internet I changed my password and did all the other listed checks without finding anything untoward.  I can use my desktop and iphone, but I don't know how to put the new password into my ipad mini.  I tried deleting the old password from mail etc in settings, and putting the new one in, but still can't send mail.  I'm assuming the password is the problem....I'm sure that there must be a correct way of changing it that I haven't discovered.   Help please!   Ariesowl

    I'm not familiar with BtYahoo specifically, but generally speaking, there are two passwords for an email account.  One is for receiving and one is for sending email.  Check Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > [your email account] > [Advanced --- or outgoing mail server]
    ... and look for a password in that area.

    I have operational PC skills but have never looked at an Ipad. I'm trying to help a friend with no PC skills learn to use her new (April 29 purchase) Ipad. She was very frustrated and gave up on it shortly after buying it. Initially she had support come to the house and install a router and demonstrate the use of the Ipad. Some usage began but without frequent use and some skills, minimal operational skills evaporated.
    I'm getting a little familiar with the Ipad. I think it is communicating with the router. When I go to Settings I see WiFi has NETGEAR07 to the right. Next when I go to iCloud I see a message (Check your (e-mail address) for instructions to verify this account.I looked and did not see any instructions. She may have deleted the instructions long ago.  I did contact Apple and had her user ID password reset. What do I have to do to get the Account verified?
    The Operator Manual mentions a Setup process but I don't see any way to initiate it again. Just thinking that might be the step to start with.
