Ok, I have an iPhone 4 and it is a great phone but I nee to keep it from deleting my mail in the server.

Settings > Mail > Your Account > Advanced > Delete from Server > Never
With this settings your phone will download new mail an leave the original on the mail server. You can delete mail from your phone but it will remain on your server until you delete manually or have a different device delete it.
And if it's a POP account, it will never delate

Is there a way to open Mail on an iTouch without it automatically downloading whatever is on the mail server?
In my Mac computer's Mail application, there has always been an option how often, or not, to download mail from the server, but I can't find any similar option within the Touch.
I would like to open Mail on the Touch simply to send an email, without it automatically downloading whatever is on my mail server.

Nope.
If you launch Mail, you get mail.
You can only stop if from loading if your DON'T launch Mail.
You can also decide how much to have it load, and how far back.
The other option is to turn off Wifi before you launch Mail.

When you close them from the task bar, you are not deleting the app, just closing it down. Most of them are not using any power at all, just are there because you recently used them, but some do use power, or keep some memory. It is a good idea to double click and shut them down at least daily, if not more often.

My Mac Mail send stopped working during a large number of mail sends yesterday.Could that be an issue? If so, what to do?
Message further reads - The sender address [email protected] was rejected by the server smtp.mail.me.com.
I deleted the account and set it up again, but still can't get the mail out. Same messages
If I go on to iCloud, mail send is working fine.
Can anyone see anything wrong or suggest what to do?
I've deleted the user name below for the screenshot.

There is no user name entered in your SMTP (advanced) preferences.

I can't find a preference to keep mail on the server as it's deleted on individual devices. We have 4 Mac devices and a PC running W8 with the iCloud control panel. How can we keepthe mail on the server as it is deleted from the individual devices?

Yahoo and Gmail both support POP if you wish.
All modern email systems are Imap (because it supports multiple and mobile devices)
I do not recommend POP under any circumstances, it can not be synchronized so unless you do not use Mobile devices at all (iPhones etc) it is useless.
Yahoo users (search this site) have endless problems and Gmail is highly non-standard. Expect a learning curve for that one.
Are you short of server space, why do you need to do this rather retrograde step?

You would need to set up the Hotmail account as a IMAP instead of a POP3 account.

You don't. They are in the cloud as soon as you make a purchase. As in immediately/right now. They don't get uploaded from yoru computer to the cloud.

Set it up again. If you didn't delete anything from the mail server, everything should sync right back up.

To delete files from your external HDD, attach it to your MBP and drag the unwanted files to trash and then empty trash.
Then you select the files that you want to transfer by 'drag and drop' to the external HDD and trash the files on your MBP.

There may be a defect in the phone. As you bought it in the US the only place you can get it looked at is in the US.
When you say you bought it new, unlocked did you buy it directly from an Apple store? If you did not it was hacked to unlock it, which could also be your problem. Apple stores are the only place in the US that sells legitimately unlocked iPhones.

By default the photos will be sorted by the date modified.

You are running 10.6.8? If yes, I assume you have your install disks? As the trash bin is part of Mail app and that is an integral part of the OS, the only way I know to get it back is to reinstall the OS. You won't lose any files, just reinstall the OS over the top of the current system.

Our requirement from management is to allow no one to delete an attachment. We have found a way to keep anyone from deleting another users attachment, however, even though we have not granted them any authorization, they still are able to delete their own. We have checked note 49127 and looked at t-code SGOS, but don't see anything that appears to prohibit attachment deletes. We have removed S_OC_ROLE from all roles, but when we did an authorization trace the authorizations were: S_OC_ROLE=ADMINISTRATOR and S_GOS_ATT= BOROBJTYPE=BSEG;ACTVT=06 (Delete) however, in the the only role the user has S_OC_ROLE does not exist and S_GOS_ATT = BOROBJTYPE= BSEG;ACTVT=02 (Change). Where is the authorization coming from?

Check the below points
1. In trace return code is 0?
2. If yes to 1st question then user must have this authorization through a role.
3. As you said that user has only 1 role then check if the user is having any manually added profile in profile tab
4. If yes, then compare user buffer then simulate test again
If all the above option fail then service.sap.com might be the place where you need to go
