No. By design, the iPhone will sync or manually manage iTunes content with ONE computer at a time. If you switch computers, all iTunes content will first be erased from your phone, then replaced with the content from the new computer. So, if you want to preserve your iTunes content, you need to copy your entire iTunes library from your old computer to your new computer. Thanks, I ended up just going to Apple and returning it and upgrading to a 16GB Iphone and just paying the price diffence. They had no problem doing that. So, for $100 plus 10% restocking, I got a brand new, double the capacity, Iphone.

I had the same problem today and was able to resolve it without having to do a restore or reset. The problem had something to do with my mail accounts. The upgrade reset my mail settings, switching both my gmail and my .mac mail to "archive all mail". I went into the General Settings, disabled that setting, and resynced the phone. The "other" storage allottment dropped back down to less than a gig.
Before you restore or reset, I would try that first.

Yes, but you will want to think it through before you do it.
The computer will become the "master" device, holding the definitive collection of music, photos, contacts, etc., and each iPad or iPhone will get a copy of what's on the computer. So if everyone has different collections of music or photos that you all want to keep separate from each other, you'll want to set up different accounts on the MacBook Pro. To do that, go into "System Preferences" and click "Users", then click the "+" to create a new account for each person who needs their own set of files.
That way you can each log in to your own MacBook account before you sync your iPhone or iPad, and everyone has their own copy of iTunes and their own iPhoto. If you happen to plug in an iPhone while logged into someone else's account, you just click "don't sync" (the 1st time only, it will remember after that). Sharing the same files becomes tricky, so this is only the best method if you want to keep things 100% separate.
On the other hand, if you all have your music and photos mishmashed together on the MacBook anyway or just don't care about keeping things separate, just go ahead and sync your iPhones and iPads without setting up new accounts. But in this case, you should create playlists and photo albums in iTunes and iPhoto. Then plug in an iPhone, click on it's icon in iTunes, and change the settings for Music, Photos, etc to only sync the playlists that you want on that device. Repeat for each one. They'll all remember their own settings, and continue to sync with their designated playlists or albums.
What you cannot do is use more than one computer with a single iPhone. That will wipe out the music and photos that were on it already, replacing them with the ones on the second computer.

Unless you can provide more details about the problem, here are a bunch of things that you can try. They may not apply to your situation, but we have no way of knowing what that is, because you didn't provide specifics.
Make sure that you do not have a stalled download in iTunes - a song or podcast .... if you have a download in there that did not finish, complete that one first. Only one thing can download at a time on the iPad so that could be what is causing the problem.
If that doesn't work - sign out of your account, restart the iPad and then sign in again.
Settings>Store>Apple ID. Tap your ID and sign out. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Go back to Settings>Store>Sign in and then try to update again. Tap one waiting icon only if necessary to start the download stream.
You can also try deleting the waiting icons - tap and hold down on an icon until it wiggles - the tap the X on the icon to delete it. Then try to download again.
You can try resetting all settings. Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings. You will have to enter all of your app preferences and device settings again.

Try downloading the latest version of iTunes to your computer, pluggin your device to it and Check for Updates in iTunes.

First of all double check that you have got the right internet settings by going to settings-general-network-cellular data network, if you have ring your carrier to determine the fault is not from their end. if that doesnt work then my advice is to book a genius appontment at your nearest apple store. if your iphone was unlocked officially the new iphone the offer you will be officially unlocked as well (they take your details and authorise your phone to be unlocked) so when next you connect your iphone to your pc you will get that message your iphone has successfully been unlocked.

I have an At&t iPhone and also had it carrier unlocked. I have restored the phone and iTunes said "your phone is now unlocked". I did all of this to change the carrier setting for MMS as now I am on StraightTalk. My problem is that I don't see "network" to change these settings. How do I get what I need without jailbreaking my phone? There has got to be a way to do this without losing all my information.
