HT201335 how to fit airplay mirroring to tv screen

I have set up Airplay mirroring from my ipad to TV but it does not fit the TV screen, there are black spaces on both sides of the TV. How can i fit it to fill in the whole screen?

Mirroring won't fill the TV screen. The iPad has an aspect ratio of 4:3 and the iPhone and aspect ratio of 3:2, neither of these will fit exactly into a TV screen which as an aspect ratio of 16:9. The Apple TV will not zoom the mirrored image, because it may well cut off information which is situated at the top or bottom of the screen.

That document is describing what you say you are already seeing. It is talking about enabling the air play button in "apps like Videos, Music etc" as you described. So if you have the AirPlay button showing up in the iOS music and video players is it working as it is supposed to. So what is it you are not seeing?

I've had this problem ever since I was at my friend's house- she has Apple TV- and my iPad connected automatically. So, I have no idea why any of the practical solutions that people think of are not options BUT, in terms of just getting it done, I did figure out a way. The key for me was getting near another Apple TV. I was out of town so I took my iPad to another friend's house who also has TV. Once I was logged onto their wireless network (the same network that their Apple TV is on-- that's how it connected in the first place), then the Airplay icon and options showed up from the bottom-draw menu and I was able to make sure that mirroring was turned off from the Apple TV section and to make sure the selection was on iPad instead. Problem solved. Now whether or not this will stay the same (rather than me having to make sure it stays at this setting everytime I link up to a network that has an Apple TV on it) I don't know. So my advice is find someone with Apple TV and connect to their network with your iPad and then change it.

You don't. Mirroring is duplicating your ipad screen on another projector - so you can't have another app going on your iPad without it also showing up on the projected image. Some apps are designed so that you see a different image in the iPad than the mirrored out display, but even then you're within the app itself.

melden sie sich bei mir ...ich weiss wo der fehler liegt.....der liegt bei ihnen sprich in den einstellungen..

HT4437 how to use airplay mirroring between ipad3 and apple tv without any internet or wifi

I do presentation and a lot of the time, there is no wifi or internet connection available in the room (school, church, community center).
Is there a way to use airplay mirroring so I can use my powerpoint or my keynotes from my ipad to the apple tv?
I also have a macbookpro, I know there is a way to create your own network with the macbookpro, how don't remember how, but would prefer not to have to carry my macbookpro.

You can stream the content with a local connection. You dont need "internet", but need to connect the apple tv to a wireless router(plugged in with no internet) or hardline. Then connect the ipad wirelessly to the same router. Its a basic internet setup without the "internet ethernet cord" plugged in.

No HDMI in my classroom, how will I airplay mirror?

The sound of airplay mirroring is awesome, however it only works with Apple TV 2g. No problem, I'm happy to unplug my ATV and take it with me, but when I get to the classroom, none of the projectors in the rooms I work in have got HDMI! Is there an app that will emulate ATV or cable that converts HDMI to VGA? and what if I find I need sound too?

What you're referring to is High-bandwidth Digital Copy Protection (HDCP) which was to prevent high quality digital-to-digital copying. If the devices along the way aren't HDCP compliant, then the source device has the option to switch to a lower quality mode. VGA, being a much lower quality analog signal, is allowed by the HDCP specs. The idea was to prevent someone from attaching a digital cable between a Blu-ray player and a Blu-ray recorder and get a "perfect digital copy" very easily. Attaching a VHS recorder to a Blu-ray player, one can still "bypass" the HDCP copy protection, but you'd also only get VHS quality rather than Blu-ray quality. So it goes with down-converting from HDMI to VGA.
That said, the adapter may still not work if there is no "lower quality" available from the source device. While that would be likely with something like Netflix or iTunes content, I do not know if Apple does anything with iPad screen mirroring.

Welcome to the Apple Community.
Try the following steps, check whether things are working after each step where appropriate, before trying the next.
Check AirPlay is turned on on the Apple TV (turn it off and on if it already is)
Check that both devices are on the same network (Settings > Wifi, on the mobile device and Settings > General > Network, on the Apple TV).
Restart the Apple TV (Settings > General > Restart).
Restart the Apple TV by removing ALL the cables for 30 seconds.
Restart your router. (Also try removing it’s power cord for at least 30 seconds)
Restart your mobile device.
Basic AirPlay: Assuming both devices are on the same network and that AirPlay is not turned off on the Apple TV, then simply tap on the screen when you are watching content you wish to stream to your Apple TV, then tap the airplay icon that appears in the control bar, choose the Apple TV from the menu that appears.
Mirroring: When displaying the content you wish to mirror on the iPad 2 (or better), iPad Mini, iPhone 4S (or better), double tap the home button (quickly) and swipe the bottom row of apps to the right to reveal the playback controls, tap the AirPlay icon and select your Apple TV from the list of available devices.
