HT201335 Mini mirroring to Apple TV

I have used mirroring for a few things, however sometimes my iPad mini does not put the little airplay icon in the browser, is there a way to force it to find my Apple TV ? Seems to take longer and longer to find the Apple TV.
Any ideas,,,,when I use apps I can go to AirPlay most of the time.

How can I keep mirroring to apple tv from shutting off at random times? Seems to be more of a problem after update to IOS 6.

Try giong to system preferences/energy saver and change the computer sleep and the dispay sleep times with the sliders.

I've rebooted all 3 devices, still does not work. Both Apple TV and MBP are on the same wifi. And the Apple TV AirPlay option is on. Can someone help? Thank you.

Adding a mini mac and Apple TV .

I currently only have a iPhone. But would like to make the plunge to full apple.
I would like a mini mac and Apple TV.
I need advise on the best way to integrate them into my system.
I currently have:
A pioneer amp.
A ps3 and a Blu-Ray player, these plug into the pioneer amp via hdmi.
The amp is connected to my tv via hdmi.
The tv is a 48" Panasonic 3d plasma.
There are 2 spare hdmi ports in the amp.
Can both products be connected by hdmi?
Is that the best way?
Can I plug one to the other and save a hdmi port on the amp?
If so, what cables will I need?

Not all computers can use the "Mirroring" feature found in Mountain Lion.
You can still mirror using iTunes and use "Airplay".

Hi I have a complete home server setup with one gaming PC and one home server PC, 2 apple TV 3rd Gen and some IP cameras. I would like to know if I can use a Mac Mini as an Apple TV. I feel the features are lacking in the apple TV as I need something with an Internet browser and something that can stream 3d movies to my TV and for the TV to recognize this content. Will it be worth it considering I have a server PC with all my movies, music, pictures and series on it. I don't own a Mac mini yet but I'm thinking of buying one.

I do not realy understand what you want to do. You can AirPlay to Mini with Reflector from the server if the serve support AirPly Mirroring

Welcome to the Apple Community.
Try the following steps, check whether things are working after each step where appropriate, before trying the next.
Check AirPlay is turned on on the Apple TV (turn it off and on if it already is)
Check that both devices are on the same network (Settings > Wifi, on the mobile device and Settings > General > Network, on the Apple TV).
Restart the Apple TV (Settings > General > Restart).
Restart the Apple TV by removing ALL the cables for 30 seconds.
Restart your router. (Also try removing it’s power cord for at least 30 seconds)
Restart your mobile device.

So we are entirely new to Apple products. I'm an IT guy, but have always been a windows user.
So the Ipad with Retina Display is to be mine (and will use it at work for notes, organization, etc)
The MINI is for the wife.
But, are we allowed and can we.. buy an app and share that app between both devices? IE. Can I buy a copy of Angry Birds for the House and both Ipad's use that single purchase? and if so, can we still run the Ipads seperate other than to share the apps purchased. IE my facebook and email set up on mine and hers on her ipad mini?
When I finally find a note taking app I like, can I share it on her ipad, without her having all my work files, etc?
Thanks for helping out the apple noob. Hoping for a great experience, and anticipate droping $100 in apps the first day.. just don't want to do that twice. If this is against the usage policy, thats unfortunate but good to know. (I mean we can share stuff on PC as long as its in the same household)

There are a number of Apple services: iMessage, FaceTime, iCloud, Game center, Find My iPad, etc.
Now, to share apps, music and books you need to have the same Apple ID:
iPad's Settings > iTunes & App Stores > Apple ID > Your purchasing Apple ID.
For the other service, your wife should have her own Apple ID.
All she needs is a valid e-mail address, apply Apple ID below:

My MBP is Early 2011 but dunno why cant use mirroring with apple TV, the icon cannot be found. So cannot use mirroring.
I have follow trouble shooting , they recommend to go system preference -> display , thus can find out the mirroring icon if no mean it doesnt support. But according to the web, Early 2011 MBP should be able to use, dunno why.

Just realise I havent updated my OS to mountain lion and this is the reason why I cannot use mirroring before ^^

After ios7 update my iPad will no longer mirror to Apple TV

We updated our iPad to ios7 and now mirroring to Apple TV will not work. How can we fix it so we can use the mirroring function again ?

If you don't see the AirPlay icon:
1. Turn off router, Apple TV and iPad
2. Turn on router and then wait 30 seconds for it to complete start-up process
3. Turn on Apple TV and then wait 30 seconds for it to complete start-up process
4. Turn on iPad (wait 30 seconds) and test AirPlay

No.
The Apple TV is the guts of an iPad without the screen or battery running a different build of the OS. Ie, its very cheap to make and runs an ARM processor (like all iDevices)
The Mac mini is 6x the price and is a full intel computer running the OS X.
Now, it could be that the Apple TV gets more powerful and its OS more diverse and "computer like" (apps + iCloud for example), but for now they're still coming from totally different directions.
They just happen to look alike

Can't register my iPad mini Retina with Apple Support

When I try to register my iPad mini with the Apple Support in my profile page, it says that my serial number is already registered to another Apple ID, and to check to see if I've got any other IDs. I ordered this directly from Apple when it was released, and it had never been opened. I contacted Apple, and their records show that it's registered to me. But I'd like to register it online so I can submit questions and any maintenance requests, which I can't do because I can't register it. Has anyone else had this problem?

I tried. They said their records showed that the iPad was registered to my Apple ID. They had no explanation why my serial number couldn't be registered. Felt I was getting the run around so I thought I'd toss it out to the community.

Is notification center showing up when you swipe down ?
Check in your settings if control center is checked :
Settings > control center > check both "lock screen" and "access within apps"
gently swipe up beginning outside the screen, just a few inches up (you don't need to swipe up to the top of the screen.
if detected the airplay option will appear in the control center.
