By setting up your GMail account to forward emails to your iCloud email account address.
You won't be able to reply from your Gmail address from within iCloud though.

I read the previous post about the yahoo email account and I was wondering if the same applies for a Gmail account. It is a free account, and I think that set up all of the information right, however I still cannot complete the setup. Maybe i am setting up the POP information wrong, but I'm not sure.

You must enable POP forwarding for the account preferences via webmail access for the account.

Can I use a gmail account to set up my child's iphone? He already has a gmail account I don't want to set up an icloud email address. My husband and I could use our gmail addresses.

You can use any email address that you like as an Apple ID - it doesn't have to be an icloud one.
My only suggestion would be to use an address that you know you will have access to for a long while - like the gmail one - so you don't have to worry about changing the Apple ID in the future.

How can i replace an apple id that uses a gmail account with my icloud address?

I have an Apple ID that uses a gmail address, which i used to create an iCloud email account. However, I cannot seem to replace my gmail Apple ID with the iCloud address. Is it possible to separate the iCloud email from the gmail address, and make it my only Apple ID i.e. can i scrap the gmail ID and only use my iCloud username as my ID?

I'm afraid you can't do this. You can change the ID to another non-Apple address, but you can't make your @icloud.com address the ID.

I can't use my youtube account with my apple tv

I can get YouTube on my Apple TV, but it won't let me use my YouTube account (created through my Mac), on the Apple TV. I'm stumped.

The two are incompatible, HDMI is a digital signal and VGA is an analog signal. You need a monitor with a HDMI port or a DVI-I port, these are both digital signals. DVI-I gives the best output.

I can't access my gmail account with my Samsung Stratosphere

My gmail account won't log me onto my Samsung Srtatosphere. Keeps saying invalid password. I even changed my password and it works on my PC but not my phone. I even did a factory reset with tech support. Has this happened to anyone and how do I fix this without creating another gmail account..

So everytime you sync, itunes will backup your phone's contents and data and you will be able to identify from the backup files correctly in future.

I can't merge my mobileME account with iCloud.

I am having problems, and seem to keep going in circles when trying to merge my mobile Me account to iCloud. I have an iphone that I want to be able to synch my photostream with. It just won't seem to allow me to see those pics. I can't figure it out. I have repeatedly followed the instruction and have gotten NO WHERE! Sooooo frustrating.

What keeps popping up telling you you have Mobile Me. If you mean you are getting email stating this, it's telling you that you're mobile me service will expire in June.

I am running MS outlook 2010 on Windows XP platform and my wife and I both have iCloud accounts. I wanted to know whether or not both iCloud accounts could be automatically synced with my MS Outlook contacts/calendars.
I have no problem using one account at a time but hate the idea of having to toggle between the two accounts to keep outlook current.

It appears that iChat allows you to add other other email accounts other than AOL or MobileMe but can you chat using these accounts and can you screen share etc with non MobileMe users?

The answer is yes but your question is wrong.
The AIM page for Registration now allows you to use any Email ID as a Screen Name.
AIM has long done this for the Apple IDs of [email protected] and the MobileMe type email IDs of [email protected]
They have also done it for other ISPs in the past as well
More recently I have had someone test with me having used a Hotmail ID in the AIM Registration process.
Jabber IDs look like email IDs and in the case of the GoogleTalk option they can be.
As long as the Screen Name works in one of your Buddy lists it will be valid And if they are an iChat user with iChat 4 or above then they will be able to Screen Share.
NOTES:
Screen Sharing in iChat uses a Random port so any router or modem that routes need to be able to use UPnP or Port Mapping Protocol to open the ports or it will not work.

Can't use comcast email account with Firefox. Why and how to fix it?

I cannot open my comcast.net email accounts. I can see the Inbox Preview page but I can open, send a new email, etc.. It started Monday evening November 11, 2011. It happened a couple of times a few weeks ago then resolved.

Download and install the 10.6.8 Combo Update over your current installation of 10.6.8.It should repair whatever is corrupted. The Mac App Store does not belong in the Utilities folder, Mac OS X expects it to be in the Apps folder where it is installed..
