HT201342 iCal doesn't sync after @mac to @icloud

Hi
After I got a message from iCloud saying that I could use any of the 3 mail address endings, Mac.com, me.com, iCloud.com, I did according to what they said.
But my iPad iCal events disappeared after the change to iCloud.com. So I changed the setting back to Mac.com and the events reappeared on calendar.
Do you have any ideas on this?
Thanks in advance...

I have the same issue.  Recently upgraded to iTunes 11 and now have the problem.

  • After upgrading to Lion, iCal doesn't sync with MobileMe

After my upgrade to the new Lion OS X, the iCal doesn't sync properly with MobileMe; events from MobileMe will go to iCal but they will not go from iCal to MobileMe.
In System Preferences/Internet & Wireless/Mail, Contacts & Calendars: I've tried reinstalling MobileMe  and checking the Calendar & Reminders box, but that didn't work.
In System Preferences/Internet & Wireless/MobileMe:  It doesn't show a calendar.  Clicked sync now, but that didn't work.
    Any suggestions?

I have not seen, nor am I aware of that setting in System Preferences.
(Option + Click) on the Sync Icon in the Menu bar. If you do not see Sync status in the Menu bar, go to System Preferences...>MobileMe>Sync>...and check the "Show Sync status in menu bar.
    You will see these selections:
Try the "Open Sync Diagnostics..." selection and you may get some clues.
If that is unsuccessful, backup your calendars and choose Reset Sync Services...

  • IPod Touch iOS 4.2.1, Mac OS 10.6.8. ICal will not sync after a restore of iPod Touch. What's up?

iPod Touch (iOS 4.2.1) second generation; Mac (OS 10.6.8). After a restore, the iCal no longer syncs, Contacts do not sync, etc. What gives?

    Greetings,
Sounds like something is wrong with the sync history.
    Troubleshooting:
    1.) Backup all your data:
    Backup your iPhone: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1414
    Backup your computer Addressbook: http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?path=AddressBook/4.0/en/ad961.html
    Backup your computer iCal: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2966
    Backup your calendars on MobileMe.
    Follow http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4226
Go to "backing up data" and then "Backing up from me.com/calendar"
2.) Reset the computer's sync services and then restart the computer: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1627
3.) Plug in the iPhone and attempt a sync.
If that does not resolve the issue, where is the information "good", on the iPod Touch or the computer and are you using MobileMe to sync or do you just plug in your usb cable.
    Hope that helps.

  • ICal crashes on startup after .mac sync

iCal now crashes upon startup. I tried to sync using .mac. During the sync process with .mac, iCal unexpectedly quit in the background. Now, each time I start up iCal, it crashes about 5 seconds after launching. I notice that each time I try to restart it, there are about 5 more colorful calendars all unnamed, on the left side of the window. Coincidentally, I have 5 calendars that I have created, all named of course. Each time I start, there are 5 additional unnamed calendars. I tried clicking on one of these calendars quickly before iCal crashed. I can actually delete one calendar after the other without iCal crashing for a period of time longer than 5 seconds. As long as I continue to delete these automatically formed, unnamed calendars, iCal will not crash. Once I am done deleting them, 5 seconds later, iCal will crash.
    Any advice is appreciated.

By quickly setting my preferences to NOT synchronize calendar with other computers using .mac before it could crash, which took about 5 tries, and then deleting all of the new mailboxes that it automatically created AND deleting all existing mailboxes, I was able to prevent iCal from crashing.
In order to transfer my calendars from my dual G5 to my MacBook Pro, I had to export the calendars from my G5, transfer them via the wireless network, and then import them.
Unless someone can tell me what I'm doing wrong, I'm no longer going to attempt to synchronize my calendar via .mac.

  • ICal won't sync to .Mac or iPhone

    Fellow Mac Chauvinists,
I have my three Macs synced through .Mac as well as to an iPhone. Most sync processes work fine except for iCal on the "master" computer, my Mac Book Pro. Calendar changes made on the Mac Book Pro do not go to either of my other computers or to the iPhone. Changes made elsewhere do not show up on the Pro but they do show up on the other secondary computer and on the iPhone, after appropriate syncs, even though the iPhone is synced to the Pro. Changes made on the Pro DO show up on the web calender that I publish to .Mac.
I have tried reseting the data on .Mac using the advanced option of sync.
I have tried removing the iCal preferences. (com.apple.iCal.plist)
I have tried reinstalling iCal from my 10.5 install disk. At the end of that process, I was NOT able to install the 10.5.2 Combo update. I got the message ... "You cannot install Mac OS X Update Combined on this volume. This volume does not meet the requirements for this update."
iCal on my Pro now shows to be version 3.0 (1204). On my Powerbook it is 3.0.2 (1236)
I see that several people on this forum are having similar problems.
This problem started several weeks ago and I have been piddling with it since. My memory does not allow me to tie it to any particular event such as an update or system crash.
Any more suggestions, maybe some way to get that Combo update to work?
    Thanks,
    Bill Nash

    Fixed by 10.5.3!

  • All my iCal events are duplicated after migrating to iCloud

I upgraded my Mac to 10.7.2 at first and migrate my iCal to iCloud.
And then I upgraded my iPhone to iOS 5.
After that I found all my iCal events are duplicated.
Does anyone know how to fix this? Thanks~~
    I don't have MobileMe.

When you sign back in to iCloud on the Mac the iCloud calendars should be there if they are also on the web-page iCloud calendar. Did you
Restarting the iCloud merges On My Mac with iCloud calendars (deleting On My Mac calendars in the process). This is why it is so vital to have .ics backups.
I think you must be missing a step somewhere. Here's what to do:
    - Create .ics backups on iCal using Export
    - Open iCal>Preferences>Accounts>iCloud and delete the iCloud account
    - Open System Preferences>iCloud uncheck Calendars and Sign Out
    - Import into iCal your .ics calendars, they will be listed as On My Mac on the iCal Calendars list
    - Sign back into iCloud, check Calendars, Agree to Merge despite the warning that calendars will be removed from the Mac
    - Check the web based iCloud calendar and see if the calendars are there.
    - Check iCal under Calendars and be sure that the iCloud calendars are checked in the list (or they will not display).
If this doesn't work you should make an appointment with an Apple Genius.

  • Incoming email doesn't work after changing to iCloud

After changing to iCloud, my email cannot receive mail any more, but I can still send.

    Hello,
I understand, we need to know what version of Mac OS X your PowerBook is running in order to assist you.
If you don't know you can go to the Apple logo on the top left and click 'About This Mac'
It will tell you what Mac version your PowerBook is running, for example Mac OS X 10.4
When you say emails icon, do you also mean the 'Mail' that has the icon as a stamp?

  • ICloud sync: Contacts are not syncing from Mac to iCloud, other services OK.

Notes and calendar data are syncing fine. Syncing between iPhone and iCloud on all 3 appears to work fine. I have toggled syncing through the control panel; did not help.

Go to System Preferences>iCloud, click Sign Out, choose Delete at all of the prompts, restart your Mac, then go back and sign back in.  (This deletes the account and iCloud data from your Mac, but not from iCloud.  Your data will reappear on your Mac when you sign back in.)

  • HT201342 how do you change your (mac/me/icloud) email address

how do you change your (mac/me/icloud) email address

You cannot change an iCloud email address unless you create a new iCloud account.  You can, however, create an email alias, which is an alternate email address that will receive incoming email in your existing iCloud email inbox.  To do this, see http://support.apple.com/kb/PH2622.  Just keep in mind that once you creat an alias, you can't later use this to create a new iCloud account or move it to another account, even if you delete the alias.

  • HT1386 I am unable to get a two way calendar sync with my iPhone 4s and my mac's ical.  iTunes syncs my mac's calendar to the phone, but not the other way.  I do not use iCloud and I cannot find any menu for removing sync history as described by others.

I have spent 3 hours trying to get my ical updated on my mac with events added to my iphone calendar. Itunes will sync the calendars from the mac to the phone, but not vice versa.  I have read every post which relates to this problem, but I do not use iCloud, there is no iSync app on my mac, and there is no menu to delete sync history under system preferences.  My mac is fairly new and is running Mac OS X 10.7.4.   I tried to delete the iphone from itunes and start over, but can't even do that.   Now what?  Any advice short of throwing both devices out the window?

For resetting the sync history on a Mac running Lion - 10.7.x if needed.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1627
If you see the Sync menu in the menu bar, skip to step 3:
If you do not see the Sync menu in your menu bar, skip to step 7.
Hold the Option key on your keyboard, then click the Sync menu in the menu bar:
if you see the Sync menu but you are unable to open it, skip to step 8.
    Choose Reset Sync Services.
    Click Reset Sync History.
Test for the original issue. If the issue persists, or if you are unable to open the Sync menu, follow these steps:
In the Finder, choose Utilities from the Go menu.
    Open Terminal.
In the Terminal window, type or paste the following command on a single line:
    /System/Library/Frameworks/SyncServices.framework/Versions/A/Resources/resetsync .pl full
    Press Return.
Quit Terminal after the operation has completed (when Terminal returns to the command prompt with a $).

  • ICal no longer syncing with .Mac between Leopard and previous OS

    hi,
Two Mac's, both new-ish. When I had the previous OS running on both, my iCal syncing worked great through .Mac. However, I have recently upgraded to Leopard on just one of these machines. Now, the machine with the previous OS will not sync to the one running Leopard, however, the Leopard one will sync to the other one.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks so much!

I was having the same problems you describe and after trying suggestions from a variety of posts in the discussion forum, here's what worked for me because simply unregistering and resetting sync data didn't solve the problem.
While I'm sure a few steps could be left out, what seemed to make all the difference was
    a. getting rid of groups of calendars and
    b. not simply reseting the data but deleting and reimporting it from the "master" computer
    1. I made sure one of my computers had complete and updated calendars (the iBook running 10.5.1)
    2. I had clustered my calendars into sub-groups, so I ditched that level of organization so everything was on the same level and created a backup database (thus my iBook became my "master")
    3. I exported each of my calendars individually (i.e. "Home.ics" "Work.ics" etc.)
    4. On the Mini (running 10.4.11), I deleted all my calendars (except for my subscriptions) and unregistered the Mini from .Mac syncing
    5. I imported each of the calendar from the iBook into iCal on my Mini so that I had the same data on both computers
    6. After restarting both machines for good measure, I reset the iCal sync data on .Mac using the info on my iBook, then registered my Mini, and reset the iCal using data from .Mac to overwrite the Mini
    7. I rebooted again, set up test events (in different calendars) on each computer, synchronized, and voila!

  • ICal doesn't sync between my iphone and macbook pro

It takes several hours for my iCal entries to show up on my iPhone, and yet many entries are still incorrectly identified by color (not picking up edits from laptop on iPhone). My iPhone is set to push updates every 15 minutes, and my laptop .Mac preference is to update automatically. Even when I plug in to laptop and sync in iTunes, it does not update iCal from my laptop to my iPhone.
The Apple store geniuses completely replaced my MobileMe account a few weeks ago since they could not get my laptop & iPhone to sync and hadn't been since I opened the account last summer (apparently neither were talking to the cloud). Compared to not working at all, it synced much better after that, though inconsistently and with delay. Help me!!

On your Mac, go to sytem preferences and click on the icloud icon.  Turn on iCloud.
When prompted, enter your Apple ID for iCloud. If you don't see a prompt, click the Apple icon at the top left of your screen and choose System Preferences. Click iCloud, enter your Apple ID, and select the services you’d like to enable.
One of the services is ICal.

  • IPod doesn't work after mac connection

i don't know why my mini ipod doesn't work anymore (it doesn't read the songs!) after i connected it with an imac g3. i started my ipod with a pc... and transfered a program for mac with it... then i connected it with the mac and now it doesn't read the mp3... suggestions?

Try to do a Reset and a Restore, bear in mind please make sure that you have all the music with your iTunes on your computer, as doing a Restore will erase all the data in your iPod
