HT201359 can i request a refund of app

HI! I have purchased a App from app store mistakenly and my CC has been charged for the amt. As that app is of no use for me is there any way I exchange or request for refund of that app.

No need to post your billing info here. This is a public forum. In any case, have you tried to check with the developer for support to get it going first? What do you have to lose.
In any case, here is maybe where you want to correspond with Apple directly:

You've tried deleting and redownloading them and seeing if they then work and tried contacting the developers ? If you have and they can't/won't help then try the 'report a problem' page to contact iTunes Support : http://reportaproblem.apple.com
If the 'report a problem' link doesn't work then you can try contacting iTunes support via this page : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/- click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page, then Purchases, Billing & Redemption

I have never asked for a refund of any type once i purchase an app. Regardless if I do not like it or not. YET, this app is not working properly on my iphone, nor inconjunction with my Macbook. I am asking if there is any way you could please refund my money to my debit card on file for the purchase of this application. I downloaded the software I needed for my MacBook Air and it still does not work. My stystem crashed and I had to uninstall or delete the software on my computer and on my phone. • HT4009 I can't seem to find a place to request a refund for app purchased from the iTunes store.  Can anyone help?

I downloaded an app and tried to make an in-app purchase.  When I did so, the app said it could not finish the transaction, but it didn't say why.  However, I got a statement from iTunes and see that I have been charged for the in-app purchase for the service, even though the app itself still says I have not subscribed.  Does anyone know how I get a refund?
Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks.
    Michelle

Thanks!  I'll try it.  I didn't know you could just contact support.

  • HT4009 refund in app purchase

How can I request a refund for an in app purchase?  My son hit the "buy" button for a $100 purchase rather than the "cancel" button.
I am baffled as to why it did not ask him for a password.  A free app requires a password, yet a $100 purchase does not?????
    Please advise.

First, to prevent this from happening again, turn off "In App purchases" in the Restrictions settings on your iPad. You may also want to turn off the ability to install apps, to prevent purchases in case the child gets hold of your iTunes Store account information, and set the password to be required immediately. For more information, see:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4213
As to a refund, that's not automatic since the terms of sale for the iTunes Store state that all sales are final. You can contact the iTunes Store, explain the reason for your request, and ask, though:
    http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact.html
They're usually pretty lenient in the case of inadvertent purchases by children. No guarantees, though, just as if your child was in a store and ate a bunch of food (in other words, something that can't just be returned).
    Good luck.

  • I bought the Keynote app for my MacBook, but when I open the application and try to install it, I get an error message saying that the application will not work with my MacBook. What gives? And, can I please request a refund? ($19.99 = a week's groceries)

I bought the Keynote app for my MacBook, but when I open the application and try to install it, I get an error message saying that the application will not work with my MacBook. What gives? And, can I please request a refund? ($19.99 = a week's groceries).
Thank you for your help! - I did try looking for all available specs about Keynote on the Apple iTunes website, and found nothing that could help me. HELP!

    1
    Close all iWork applications
    2
Uninstall Keynote; this must be done with an application remover tool to delete the installation properly. Appcleaner is known to work correctly for this purpose, it is free and can be downloaded from here: Appcleaner Download
    3
    empty the trash
    4
shutdown the Mac and restart. After the start up chime, hold down the shift key until the apple logo appears
let the Mac complete the start up procedure completely, it will take longer than usual as the hard drive is being repaired
    5
Reinstall Keynote by logging into the Mac App Store using download / install

You probably cannot get a refund, since as RG said the terms of sale for the iTunes Store state that all sales are final. You can contact the iTunes Store, explain the reason for your request, and ask, though:
    http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact.html
It's possible they'll make an exception for you, something more likely if the app does not perform as advertised.
    Good luck.
Forum Tip: Since you're new here, you've probably not discovered the Search feature available on every Communities page, but next time, it might save you time (and everyone else from having to answer the same question multiple times) if you search a couple of ways for a topic, both in the relevant forums and in the Apple Knowledge Base, before you post a question.

  • How can I get a refund for an app that did not download/do not now want

I decided to buy an app that cost £39.99. It did not download & still has not 24 hours later. Meanwhile iTunes have emailed a receipt for the payment. I have clicked on Report a Problem on the receipt but it does not lead anywhere. Suggestions please.

Once you buy it you have bought it and Apple generally does not do refunds.  You can ask but it will have to be an exception.
How to request a refund for an iTunes or App Store purchase - http://www.imore.com/how-request-refund-itunes-or-app-store-purchase
What can be done is try to redownload the app.
Downloading (using iOS or computer) past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store - http://support.apple.com/kb/ht2519 - enabled with iTunes 10.3 and newer; not all media formats are available in all countries (see: iTunes in the Cloud, iTunes Match, and iTunes Radio availability by country - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5085); apps, books (not audiobooks), music, t.v. shows, and movies (some - not all studios have permitted this). Downloading previously purchased movies and TV shows requires iTunes 10.6 or later. Discontinued items not available. For items not included in the iCloud list (e.g., ringtones, audiobooks), or locations or computer systems where iCloud is not (yet?) available, you only get one download per fee paid. Apple recommends, "... back up your iTunes library. " (http://support.apple.com/kb/ht2519). Additional tip at https://discussions.apple.com/message/24176756#24176756 Select the iTunes Store on the left side of iTunes if you have the sidebar displayed, or with the button at the top right. Click on Purchased on the right side under Quick Links (see https://discussions.apple.com/message/26364186#26364186) You can re-download your available previous purchases.

  • Can I get a refund on an app I purchased but don't like?

I bought Pages and Keynotes from the app store for two different projects i have to do for school.  However, i once i opened them.. niether one had the templates or style that i needed/wanted..
I really would love it if i could get a refund.
I've tried to use the "report a problem" option but it just brought me to a page that had nothing to do with reporting a problem or finding a solution.
ANYONE KNOW HOW TO HELP ME OUT?! OR WHAT I CAN DO?!?!
    -thanks

Apple's policy states that, "all sales are final" > iTUNES STORE - MAC APP STORE - TERMS AND CONDITIONS
You can request a refund, but no guarantees.

Contact iTunes store support and request for a refund:
    http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/
They may also need your order numbers so it's best you get them ready.
You can find your order numbers on your email receipts and in your Purchase History. If you need to review your Purchase History, follow the steps in this article:

    Hope this helps. =D

  • Bad itunes movie rental, book, app...can I get a refund?

Over the past few months I've had an itunes movie rental that froze and wouldn't play, a book I bought that wouldn't open (on any device, iphone, mac, or ipad), and an app that I purchased that worked a few times and now quits every time it's opened.
Is there a way to request a refund/credit for these items?

You can always ask but supposedly sales are final.

I purchased an app and it doesn't want to to load or it freezes. Can I get a refund? If so how?

    Sometimes.
Go into your iTunes account on your computer. Go to the section showing items you have purchased. There you will find buttons to report a problem. I have requested a refund using that method and received it. However, I understand that Apple does this on a case by case basis, and a refund is not guaranteed.
