HT201359 iTunes film download error. 2gb limit??..

I am trying to rent to 2 different films in apple store but both stop when reach 2gb. I have more than 8gb available of free space but cannot download the rest of the films. Can you help me? Regards. Dan.

I think what is going on, that in order to downlad these files, you need more than 8GB of free space on the iPad.  When downloading and saving, you need more that the size of the file, because the iPad is doing things in the background, that also require space.  It can't do the "background" things and therefore shuts you down.
Can you download this from your computer instead?

    - Try on your computer going to iTunes>Store>Check for available downloads.
    - Next try redownloading by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store

    Same here.
My biggest problem with the download isn't the space it's occupying. It's that it asks me for my account password every 5 min.
I've been thinking about a factory restore but seems like a drastic solution, there should be an easier way to delete it. Like swipe deleting it like all other downloads.

  • ITunes song downloading error - may be corrupt?

I just recently downloaded 3 songs, 2 of them have gotten the message, this file may be corrupted try again later. I've tried downloading those songs about 5 times each, does anyone know the answer to this?

I'm having the same error but only one a few of the downloads. I am downloading many things at the same time and only one or 2 of the tracks are giving me this "stopped (err = 8003)".
Thus I assume its a server side (iTunes store) problem. Probably if I hit the gray arrow on the right to try the download again in the future, it will come through. Now I'm getting notifiers that iTunes is unable to check for purchases. Either the iTunes store severs are having problems for my ISP is.
My suggestion to people having this problem is wait a while and try the download again (see below), particularly if you've successfully download purchases in the past. That approach is partially working for me now. A few hours ago all of the downloads stopped. Now I've gotten a few more before the errors are popping up again. Even if this is your first attempt, if you're at home, i.e., not behind a corporate firewall save yourself the hassle of reconfiguring your home network (plugging directly into your modem or disabling your router's firewall) and just try again later.
In another forum I found a user ranting that he was buying the song/movie/whatever multiple times. In response to that: When you get one of these downloading errors you do not have to buy anything again. In left panel of iTunes, under the "STORE" heading click "Downloads". This will show you all the downloads pending and in progress. If any of them have problems you can use the "Resume All" button at the bottom to try them all again. Click the gray arrow circling back on itself at the right hand side of each item to restart the download of an individual item.
    Hope this helps

  • HT1725 Purchased downloads from Itunes says Download error, tap to retry, been doing this since I purchased need help.

Purchased downloads from Itunes, downloads say "Download error, tap to retry. I have been trying daily since purchase. What can I do?

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
Try deleting the problematic tune (electing to remove original file if/when prompted) and then re-downloading the file from the iTunes store.
You can re-download content purchased from the iTunes store (availability varies depending on location) using the purchased option from the Quick Links section in the top right corner of the iTunes homepage in your iTunes application on your computer.
You can re-download content purchased from the iTunes store (availability varies depending on location) using the purchased option at the bottom of the screen of the iTunes app on your iOS device.
If the problem re-occurs, select the content which is causing a problem and use the 'Report a problem' button in Your Purchase History using your computer.

I am trying to download 2 films I purchased and day after day it stops at about a tenth into the download and says there is an unknown error.
I thought it was the first film but then tried a second a few days later and same again.
I have downloaded 6 films before with no problem so what can I do to resolve this and get my films?

I have tryed deleting the unfinished download from my itunes download folder and restarting the download, but the same thing happens over and over again.

  • ITunes purchases download errors

I purchased the Lord of the Rings HD bundle last night, and after a few abortive attempts, the movies appear to have downloaded okay, although iTunes seems to think it downloaded the 1st movie twice; there's only the one copy in my library, though...
On a (possibly) unrelated sidenote, I cannot assign one of my custom audio equalizer presets to the 1st movie; the 2nd and 3rd movies behaved fine, but the 1st refuses to take.
It's the 'iTunes Extras' that don't want to download, no matter how many times I try them, and no matter how many times I try them after making sure I have the latest version of iTunes (I do), or quitting and restarting iTunes, or restarting the whole computer....
For the record, iTunes 11.0.1 trying to figure out whether or not I have any files that need downloading causes iTunes to freeze, while it scrunches up it's little head in fierce concentration, freezing the program for several minutes... it then (finally) decides that the last time it tried was not particularly sucessful (ch'uh!!!), it begins the download again, and all becomes right with the world.
This is not the first time I've had problems with the 'iTunes Extras' portion.
I will go as far as to say that I have more problems (i.e. failures) than I have successes, at this point.
For the record, in this instance the error messages I get are the following...
For the Fellowship and Return of the King extras, I get the error message "- stopped (error = -19)"
For the Two Towers extras, I get the error message "- stopped (error = -23)"
The download window states the the full file has downloaded, every time, but fails upon the last step, whatever that step is; i.e. the Fellowship extras file is 1.81GB, which is what downloads, then it faults...
    Anybody got any ideas...?

On an additional note, the window that pops open to tell me there were 'some problems' with several of the downloads states that I should 'check the network connection and try again...' which is what I've been doing for about 24 hours now...
Also, an album I bought just an hour or so ago has failed to download one of the tracks, and doesn't recognize that fact when I ask it to check for available downloads... making me wonder just what the **** is going on over in iTunes land...
    Too much holiday cheer...?
    Not enough...?
Well, it's getting downright frosty over here where I'm sitting...

  • Itunes podcast downloading error (err = -3259)

    Hello,
I am using itunes with my IPOD since 2 years. all fine so far. Now, since a few weeks, some podcasts don`t get downloaded anymore. I always receive the error message (err = -3259) and thats it. Does anyone else have the same problem? I also tried a different timing and deleted the podcast and renewed it from itunes, but no change. I am already desperate.... and want to have the content updated for sure.
Thanks for your comments & have a prosperous and happy new year.

I've been having the same problem for about two weeks now. Before then, I had no problem downloading multiple podcasts. Now, only one downloads fine while all the rest time out. What is really odd is that they are all about the same size (even the one that I can download successfully). I've been searching for a solution online, but to no avail. I even disabled Norton and Windows' firewall, but that did not help at all. Completely frustrating...

  • Itunes 6 downloading error...

I have tried to update to itunes 6 and receive the following message: Installation Error - 3. Then another error pops up: 1628 - Failed to complete installation. I have read many posts here and have tried most. I am frustrated that I am unable to roll back the previous version of itunes.
I have turned off NAV, Norton Security 2005, all spyware programs. I have cleared my temp folder. Any suggestions to fix this error would be helpful.
    Thanks,

    hi Stan!
along the same lines as Jim's advice, here are another couple of procedures that have a good track record with the QT 1402:

... and if no joy with that:
Adam Hicks, "Quicktime 7 (Resolution for some install / permission error)", 06:06pm Oct 1, 2005 CDT
... prior to any registry editing, i think it would be a good idea to shut down any background applications:
    http://consumer.installshield.com/kb.asp?id=Q108377
(we have been periodically getting reports of people being unable to edit their registry. in at least one case (on a QT 1402), an antivirus application was the culprit. i don't know what other packages might be implicated (or even whether this is a common cause of this problem), so i figure it can't hurt to shut 'em

    down.)
    keep us posted.
