Updated to ios7 and iTunes 11.1, Music won't play or Error sign ! when clicked on
After updating my ios and itunes my music on my ipod will not play and an error sign ! shows up to the left of every song when clicked to play. Also when i undock the ipod it would show that all my music is gone! But when i redock the ipod it shows that all the music is still there! This is really frustraing to me because i have spent countless hours organizing my playlist and it would take about the same amount of time to redo them. Please Help!
having the same issue, everything i have tried doesn't seem to work. never had a problem until i installed 11.1
all my albums are now in the itunes library but even that isn't making any diffrence, spent a good few hours yesterday reinstalling my music...just a waste of time, same thing happened. will keep you posted if i find any answers -
How do I update my iOS? I have the iPad 1 and have tried over and over to try and update the iOS version to iOS 5.1, nothing works it will start updating then say that it did not update? PLEASE HELP!!! P.s I'm running newest version of iTunes.
Connect your iPad to your computer and let iTunes back up your iPad. After it does that disconnect it and go into your settings under general and under reset and select erase all content. After you do that reconnect to your computer, open iTunes and follow the screen options to set up your iPad as new. Once it is done doing that see if you have the latest version of iOS installed and if it does then either download gain the apps you had before or restore them from the backup made previous.

If it's in recovery mode, the data is already gone. Why did you never back up your important data?

The option to update without the computer (Over the air) was made available with iOS 5. If your iDevice is using a version of iOS lower than 5, you will need to use iTunes on your syncing computer to perform the upgrade. Use the Apple link below as a guide for the upgrade.

I bought this online as a gift for someone travelling. Cheap so if it gets lost or broken - no big deal BUT was restored to original factory settings. It now has version 3.1.3 on it. I have tried to sync with my iTunes from my phone but it's not being seen.

I suspect you have a 2G iPod. Those can only go to iOS 4.2.1.
