Hi gamton,
Thanks for visiting Apple Support Communities.
If your Apple ID was disabled for security reasons, you may just need to reset the password to enable it again. See this article for more information:

  • Hi, I just received an email stating that my Apple ID was just used

Hi, I just received an email to my private gmail that my Apple ID was used  to buy an app from the Apple Store on a computer or device that had not previously been associated with my Apple ID. The link sent allegedly to cancel the transaction, requires my credit card details. Is it a spam? Thanks a lot in advance for the clarification

Sounds like a scam to me or rather phishing and I would expect it to want your CC details .Hope you haven't responded
They are all over the world I get 2 or 3 a week similar  from " Apple "

Just got an e mail to say that my Apple ID was just used to download photoshop touch for phone for 2.99 from the App Store with a receipt number. Is this a scam for me to give my Apple ID?

No but there's a link to reset your password. Etc etc..
This is the email I got.
"Your Apple ID was just used to download Photoshop Touch for phone £2.99 from the App Store on a computer or device that had not previously been associated with that Apple ID.
If you initiated this download, you can disregard this email. It was only sent to alert you in case you did not initiate the download yourself.
If you did not initiate this download, we recommend that you go to iforgot.apple.com to change your password, then see Apple ID: Tips for protecting the security of your account for further assistance.

  • I've just received an email from 'Apple' saying that my apple id was used      to sign into iCloud on an iphone 5s.  I have an iphone 4.  It's asking me to sign in to confirm my details and change my password.  How do I know if this email is genuine?

I've just received an email from 'Apple' saying that my apple id was used to sign into iCloud on an iphone 5S.  I have an iphone 4.  It then asks that I 'click here' to confirm my details and change my password.  How do I tell if the email is genuine?

Apple will not ask you to click a link in an email. They may tell you to log in to your account to reset your password. Go to https://appleid.apple.com and log in if you ever want to change any information in your profile (or your password). And do not click the link I just posted; instead enter it into a browser.
You can verify the devices assigned to your account by going to https://icloud.com/find (again, don't click it), where you can see a list of devices registered to your Apple ID.
As a general rule, you should never click a link in an email or forum post without verifying it first. You can see where it goes without clicking it in most email programs and browsers by hovering your mouse pointer over it. On an iPhone you can check where it goes by holding your finger on the link (rather than just tapping it).

Report it to the police. Change all your passwords and cancel you credit cards and other credit accounts.
What To Do If Your iDevice Is Lost Or Stolen
    iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPad
If you activated Find My Phone before it was lost or stolen, you can track it only if it is connected to the Internet by Wi-Fi or cellular. What you cannot do is track your device using a serial number or other identifying number. You cannot expect Apple or anyone else to find your device for you. You cannot recover your loss unless you insure your device for such loss. It is not covered by your warranty.
If your iPhone, iPod, iPod Touch, or iPad is lost or stolen what do you do? There are things you should have done in advance - before you lost it or it was stolen - and some things to do after the fact. Here are some suggestions:

  • TS1702 I got an email saying that I purchased Gems in Dragonville, but I didn't. Can/how do I get a refund?

I got an email saying that I purchased Gems for Dragonville, but I never did. Am I able to get a refund for it?  I never got the 50 Gems either. So there is a random charge of $2.12 on my sister's credit card for something that I never purchased.

They need to be selected in the iTunes tab called Ringtones as a synced item...

I just got a mail saying that I have to verify my itunes ID, the link directs me to a strange site. Does anybody have an idea what it is about?

Apple does not send mails asking you to verify your ID.

Were you running iOS 7 beta?  If so, as a developer you need to log into the Developer forum for assistance.

  • I have had an email saying that my Apple ID  password has been reset. This was not by me. Does this mean that someone has accessed my account?

I have received an email saying that my Apple ID has been reset. This wasn't by me!! Does this mean that someone has accessed my account. Tried phoning Apple but they keep sending me emails saying that they have tried but I haven't answered. My number is correct.

Are you sure they say the password has been changed or that *if* you want to change it, then go to a web site and do it there.  If the latter, just ignore the email.  If the former (and I'm assuming the email is regarding a changed password, but it could mean the security questions have been changed), then using a computer's browser, try logging into icloud.com.  If you can do that using the old password, then it's not clear what the email means.

  • Just got an email saying my Apple ID was updated

I just received an emailed saying my applied had been updated, and if this wasn't the case click on the links provided to update. Is this a hack?

If you are receiving e-mail messages that indicate that someone is trying to reset your Apple ID password, they may be phishing scams. Do not click any links in those e-mail messages, and if you make the mistake of doing so, do not provide your current Apple ID password on the page you are directed to.
Unfortunately, in this case, there's nothing to be done except treat those messages the same way you would any other spam.
The other possibility is that someone is actually trying to reset your Apple ID password. This may be due to a malicious attack, but more likely, it's just someone who thinks your Apple ID is actually theirs (due to a typo, faulty memory or something similar) and is trying to "regain" access. In any case, this is merely an annoyance, but you can put an end to it by enabling two-factor authentication on your Apple ID. This will require an additional piece of information that only you will possess in order to even start the password reset process.
If you are actually seeing your password getting changed, and are having to reset it yourself to regain access, you are being hacked. This could be because your password is not strong enough to withstand a brute-force attack by a botnet. It could also be because the attacker already has access to your e-mail address, and is able to intercept the reset e-mail and complete the reset process. Because of that danger, you should change the password for the e-mail account associated with your Apple ID. You should also change the password for your Apple ID, making sure that it is a strong password, and enable two-factor authentication as mentioned above.

  • Hi guys, My iphone got stolen yesterday, it was off but i've just got an email the last place my iphone was found yesterday night and again it got off, i went to the address but they said they have not found any iphone, what should i do?

    Hi guys,
My iphone got stolen yesterday night, I activated lost mode but the phone was off and couldnt be tracked, today i just got an email about the last place the phone was found yesterday night, its off again, i went there but they said that nobody has found an iphone, police does not do anything also, what should i do?

My iPhone was stolen. Straight away I used the findmyiphone app. No surprise that the phone had been turned off, rendering the app totally useless.
I thought its ok, I've got a pin code. My brother then goes on to tell me that they are easily bypassed.
My brother states that if you put an iPhone in dfu mode, connect that iPhone too iTunes
That iTunes detects the said phone is in dfu mode and does a system restore.
Wiping the phone and giving the Theif a brand new iPhone!!!
Someone from apple please tell me WHY THIS CAN HAPPEN?!

  • TS1424 I bought 1 song that was 1.29$ and a day later I got an email saying that I owe 1.29$ to Apple but I had money on my iTunes account because I just got an iTunes card, so why is it charging me to a credit card?

I bought a song that was 1.29$ on my iTunes with my iTunes cash and it docked off 1.29 as usuall but a day later I got got an email telling me that I owe 1.29$$ to Apple, so that doesn't make any sense!

You will have to pay the owed amount with a valid card that has money on it. Once that is done, change the card to none and then it will use your store credit on future purchases.

  • I just got an email saying one of my iCloud accounts is full, but didn't tell me which one

I have a family that uses one iTunes account, but four iCloud accounts (from old mobile me accounts). I got an email on the iTunes account saying one of them was full, which probably means I didn't get one device setup correctly with the common iTunes account for the store, and the individual iCloud account for personal backups, etc
How can I see which device is registered to the iTunes account for its iCloud (instead of the old mobile me account) without logging into each device?
Is there any way for me to monitor four separate iCloud accounts (space utilization) to see if anyone needs cleaning up. As the family sysadmin, I don't want to find out later someone's space ran over and they haven't been backup up in months.

Here are more details. The email that's not working says, "password rejected for security reasons, please sign in to reset password". I've reset the password numerous times (not at once but I wait a couple days to change it) and it's still rejecting each new one. I signed in to iCloud.com and in my Advanced Settings I "Reset Documents and Data". iCloud does not show any of my email devices (I have a Macbook Pro, iPhone & iPad). iCloud says if my devices aren't showing I must be signed in to iOS 8 or OS X which I am. I'm receiving all email except for the one email account. It is a secondary iCloud account, me.com. After doing the resets, restarting my Mac, the email account is STILL telling me I have to reset the password, which is where I'm stuck. Also, my AppleID/iCloud email is a valid gmail account I've been using for 5 years.

  • I got an email saying that the latest episode of Breaking Bad is available, but I can only find the commentary of the episode.

Where can I find the episode?

Ok, weird. The episode is in iTunes yet there was no email that alerts to the download. You download the 'about' 3 min. episode and it says that's all available for the apple ID. yet, going to the main TV show episode site allows you to do the download. Well, this never happened before. Glad to have the episode but iTunes is giving me a real headache.
