Please help, when I try to turn it off it is no longer an option.
If you have an email that is a exchange/corporate account, their policies may force your account to have a passcode. I had a phone without a lock code, added the email account, and it forced me to put a lock code on the phone. And the option to remove code disappeared. When I removed the email account, the option to remove the passcode reappeared.

Is there a difference between the passcode and the restrictions passcode, in iphone 6?
After my 8.3 update, the pass code for unlocking my phone is not the same as the "restrictions pass code". I tried to restore my phone and created a new unlock pass code and I still cannot get past the Restrictions Pass code. ugg
There is something going on here. I'm 100% sure that my restriction code was the same as my unlock too, and after updating to 8.3, I can't get in restrictions.
Before updating, I had change my passcode for unlocking to the same as the restriction. The iphone haven't said a thing about that but I sure remember that I couldn't put the same passcode when I created the restricion one. Maybe you couldn't put the same unlock code in the restriction code but when you already created the restriction one, and tries to change the unlock code to the same as the restriction, it worked and bugged the restriction when I updated. -
So i forgot the pass code to my Ipod and have fully disabled my Ipod, it is telling me to connect to Itunes to unlock it but i no longer own the computer that i first connected it to, what do i do?
Place the iPod in Recovery Mode and restore via iTunes. Unless you have an iCloud backup you will have to restore to factory settings/new iPod.

Disconnect the USB cable from the device, but leave the other end of the cable connected to your computer's USB port.
Turn off the device: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for the device to shut down.
While pressing and holding the Home button, reconnect the USB cable to the device. The device should turn on.
Continue holding the Home button until you see the Connect to iTunes screen.
iTunes will alert you that it has detected a device in recovery mode. Click OK, and then restore the device. -
I have the iPhone 5 and with the new sofware update it added a passcode lock. Same for the iPad. I removed the passcode lock from my iPhone and now I can access my iPad. It is still asking for the four digit passcode. I tried using the one that was orgingally programed and it disables it every time. How can I get past this? I have tried to do a restore and it still takes me back to the lock screen. Please help!

I am trying to upload photos from my iPhone to my macbook but each time I plug my iPhone into the macbook, a message comes up which says my device is locked with a passcode and I cannot load the photos. I've been trying to restore my daughter's mini ipad to factory settings. Today I met my match with an iPad that had a passcode entered too many times, resulting in it displaying the message ‘iPad is disabled – Connect to iTunes’. This was a student iPad and since they use Notability for most of their work there was a chance that her files were not all backed up to the cloud. I really wanted to just re-activate the iPad instead of totally resetting it back to our default image.
I reached out to my PLN on Twitter and had some help from a few people through retweets and a couple of clarification tweets. I love that so many are willing to help out so quickly. Through this I also learned that I look like Lt. Riker from Star Trek (thanks @FillineMachine).
Through some trial and error (and a little sheer luck), I was able to reactivate the iPad without loosing any data. Note, this will only work on the computer it last synced with. Here’s how:
1. Configurator is useless in reactivating a locked iPad. You will only be able to completely reformat the iPad using Configurator. If that’s ok with you, go for it – otherwise don’t waste your time trying to figure it out.
2. Open iTunes with the iPad disconnected.
3. Connect the iPad to the computer and wait for it to show up in the devices section in iTunes.
4. Click on the iPad name when it appears and you will be given the option to restore a backup or setup as a new iPad (since it is locked).
5. Click ‘Setup as new iPad’ and then click restore.
6. The iPad will start backing up before it does the full restore and sync. CANCEL THE BACKUP IMMEDIATELY. You do this by clicking the small x in the status window in iTunes.
7. When the backup cancels, it immediately starts syncing – cancel this as well using the same small x in the iTunes status window.
8. The first stage in the restore process unlocks the iPad, you are basically just canceling out the restore process as soon as it reactivates the iPad.
If done correctly, you will experience no data loss and the result will be a reactivated iPad. I have now tried this with about 5 iPads that were locked identically by students and each time it worked like a charm.

Try this first - I saw a recent post where a user with the same problem after an iOS update used his Apple ID password.
Try this - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.) No data/files will be erased.

So my phone is messed up and you can't do anything with the screen...in order for me to sink it to back up i have to enter the passcode because it had a lock on it...and i can't due to it being messed up...is there any way around this...

No app on the iPod is required.
- If you previously turned on FIndMyiPod on the iPod in Settings>iCloud and wifi is on and connected, on a computer browser go to iCloud: Find My iPhone, sign in and go to FIndMyiPhone. If the iPod has been restored it will never show up or conbtinue to show off-line.
- You can also wipe/erase the iPod and have the iPod play a sound via iCloud.

Been using an ipad 2 without passcode for quite some time. While upgrading to ios 7, I enabled Find Iphone on the Ipad. It asked for passcode and I gave one. Now I forgot it. Connected it iTunes (on my windows 8 system) with which I sync and that too required an update as old version of itunes cannot read ios7. Problem is itunes does not want to get updated. Some vague error on not having right to write a file in ProgramData folder wheras as an admin i have full rights. Next I downloaded the install file from itunes site - no luck it would not install. Then I tried to remove itunes - it does not want to go. Am at wits end... Is the option only to restore it as a new Ipad?
