They are there for security e.g. if somebody gets access to your iTunes account then they won't be able to buy content from your account on their own computer without being able to answer to your questions.
You should be only be asked for their answers on the first purchase on a computer or device. -

Ok, so I had the same problem. What you should do is, call the
Apple Technical Support number: (44) 0844 209 0611
And ask for the Account Security Team. This worked for me. -

i have never set up security questions and Itunes is asking me to answer security questions. I have no idea what the answers to the questions it is asking me. Now I cannot purchase anything from Itunes. I have had my account for years. What do I do ?

guys, i keep trying to purchase some songs on itunes, and it keeps asking me to answer security questions, which i have forgotten, so it says it has sent an email to me, so i go to my email and its not there! anyone have any ideas? this is really ANNOYING

I had mine mess up a few months ago and tried to get the e-mail three different times and it never came. I ended up scheduling for a tech to call me to figure it out. -

My second iPod is a 5th generation and when I try to buy something it says it needs make sure I am who I say I am and it makes me answer security questions. But the problem is I don't know the answers to them. I did not choose them. And if I can't find an answer I can't buy anything!!! Help!!!!

My husband and I both have i phone 4 on the same itune acct but his phone is saying its a new device and will not let him buy anything off of our acct without answering security questions. these questions are not the ones we set up the acct with. my iphone device is not having this problem. Help!

What I need to know is "how" I can separate or rather create another Apple ID for my son-who is currently using "my Apple ID?" If there is a way to let him keep "all" his info on his phone (eg-contacts, music, app's, etc.) without doing a "reset?') Somehow I need to go into his phone's setting-create a new Apple ID and possibly a new password so he can still use our combined iCloud & Itunes account?
Also then letting me take back my Apple ID & password, but again allowing us (my son and I) to use the same iCloud & Itunes account? Does that make more sense??? I'm sincerely trying to get this cleared up once and for all----just need guidance from someone who has a true understanding of the whole Apple iCloud/Itunes system!

My iPod touch wont let me buy anything, i've beem using this account for a couple of years and now it says that this is the first ime this id has been used on my device... it's not.... and to sign in and answer security questions. i cant remember the answers to the questions. Click "Continue".

If you schedule a call you will receive a call back from the Account Security team, you just need to leave your contact information and preferred time to receive a call back.

I can't change my password! I don't know the answers to my security questions and the recuse email I put in years ago may not even exist. I need help!
You need to ask Apple to reset your security questions; this can be done by phoning AppleCare and asking for the Account Security team, or clicking here and picking a method, or if your country isn't listed in either article, filling out and submitting this form.
They wouldn't be security questions if they could be bypassed without Apple verifying your identity.
