I have 53.23 GB available but when I try to upgrade to OS X Mavericks why is it telling me that they could not complete my purchase.
Disk space is only one requirement. However, your description leaves me wondering what the error message says, exactly.
Here are the requirements:
iMac (Mid 2007 or newer)
MacBook (Late 2008 Aluminum, or Early 2009 or newer)
MacBook Pro (Mid/Late 2007 or newer)
Xserve (Early 2009)
MacBook Air (Late 2008 or newer)
Mac mini (Early 2009 or newer)
Mac Pro (Early 2008 or newer)
If you hold down the option key and select System Information from the Apple Menu, the Hardware section will tell you which Mac Model Identifier you have, like Macbook Pro3,1.
That will help determine if your Mac meets the requirements.

Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of the test is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party software that loads automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, by a font conflict, or by corruption of the file system or of certain system caches.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards, if applicable. Start up in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. You must hold down the shift key twice: once when you boot, and again when you log in.
Note: If FileVault is enabled, or if a firmware password is set, or if the boot volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, with limited graphics performance, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain models. The next normal boot may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually login automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem?
After testing, reboot as usual (not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test. -
On the homepage of firefox it sayd that I do not have the latest version of firefox. So i desidet to update it, but after that it kept on telling me that I do not have the latest version. Companies such as powerbookmedic, wegenermedia, and others can take in portable macs of vintage or newer (contact them for details on what they do, and how they accept work orders) for repair and can fix most anything; and have a parts inventory. Modern repair workstations allow the equipped service company to fix complex issues and they do troubleshooting. Sometimes the cost is less than a replacement logic board.

Usually the issue is caused by hardware, especially if there is an indication of machine failure in the crash log or other screen image text.
A working last model MacBook (mid-2010) would be a better 'first mac' to have.
Hopefully you can sort it out.
If not, there likely are fair parts in it.

I am unable to update the newest version of itunes because I need to update my Mac OS X to version 10.6 or later but my computer keeps telling me that I do not have any updates available. I am currently running version 10.5.8

I am unable to redownload OS X Mavericks on a Late 2013 new Macbook Pro 13". I get a message saying "We could not complete your purchase" " OS X Mavericks can not be installed on this computer"

have itunes vouchers and each time i click redeem , I get error "we could not complete your itunes store request, an unknown error occured 1202, try again later. I have tried this for 4 days running and get same error.

What happens when you try to listen to a preview on the Music Store?
Mine asks me to authorize again and gives me the error exactly as you said above.
What happens when you try to view your account information (in Music Store, click on your account name in the top right corner)?
Mine lets me authorize sucessfully and shows me my account information.
I have emailed iTunes support about this and they replied with a generic answer about Deauthorizing and re-authorizing the computer.
