I have Snow Leopard 10.6.8 and I have been told that I may download Mavericks and be able to use Facetime when I do,is this correct and I would like to know even if I can't use Facetime,is it prudent for me to still download Mavericks?
I consider myself a rookie so please bear with me!

As long as you use your Apple ID to purchase it, I don't see why they wouldn't let you download the installer on one of their Macs and put it on a pocket drive.

It sounds like you’ve Reset All Settings on your iPhone 4s and now you’re running into an issue where the device only displays an Apple logo on startup. The article linked below provides troubleshooting suggestions that should be able to help you resolve the issue.

unless you have a huge mail store that is way to long.
Might be a corrupt PST file. The import locks when one of those is encountered.

Installing mac os x snow how long should it take?

I've installed a new hard drive. Inserted the MAC os x Leopard install disk. This is taking a long time over three hours is that normal or should I be doing something?

It took me 4 attempts, 3 of them over 12 hours before it finally completed the download. It took so long that I kept leaving it overnight, then in the morning I would get the message, download not completed due to server issues.
Then suddenly it went through quickly on the 4th try. Have no idea why..

How long should it take for Leopard to resume from sleep?

I recently performed a clean install of Leopard, but noticed it takes up to 30 seconds to resume from sleep. Is this normal?
Tiger would resume in several seconds (time for drives to spin up, etc), although network connectivity would lag.
I tried a suggestion from another thread regarding com.apple.PowerManagement.plist, and when I manually put the computer to sleep, wait a few minutes, then click the mouse to resume, it took less than 5 seconds.
When the computer sleeps by it self, it seems to take longer to resume. Much longer...
Wondering if anyone has any suggestions.

How many drives? using RAID will also take longer I think.
Does Leo save memory to disk? there is sleep, and then there is hibernation mode.
Could vary by disk brand (size, etc)

Depending on how much content you put on the iPad in the last six months - it could take a while but seven hours seems way too long to me ... But I have no idea what you've downloaded to the device in that time.
You really shouldn't wait for six months to go by before syncing. I don't let six days pass without backing up and syncing. However, it's your choice to make but realize that the consequences of that choice may not be in your best interest.

The storage on your phone cannot be increased.
iCloud is a service which syncs your information and backs up your data. It will backup up to 5 GB of data free.
If your phone is out of room, you have to delete contents to make room.

If there are problems with updating then best is to download the full version and uninstall the currently installed version and if there are still problems, delete the Firefox program folder to remove any leftover files.

you run speed test on your network. But never mind that. even with knowledge of that speed and size of that backup, I will not give you precise numbers, so here is an example - if your ISP is DSL and size of the backup is 1 Gb - backup may take overnight. If your network cable- way faster, but I have seen backups over 20 gigs. Your backup size is way bigger then one.
