HT201364 OS X Lion

I have just received a licence number and password for the OS X Lion but am unable to find how to progress from here. Where and how do I download? Thanks

No, you can get it right from the App Store, if your computer is supported:

I upgraded my MacBook Pro with Lion (but with iphoto 9.2.1) to Maverick and now I can't open iphoto and I can't update either - can anyone help please?

Download the iPhoto upgrade from the App Store. It should be free.
iWork and iLife for Mac come free with every new Mac purchase. Existing users running Mavericks can update their apps for free from the Mac App Store℠. iWork and iLife for iOS are available for free from the App Store℠ for any new device running iOS 7, and are also available as free updates for existing users. GarageBand for Mac and iOS are free for all OS X Mavericks and iOS 7 users. Additional GarageBand instruments and sounds are available for a one-time in-app purchase of $4.99 for each platform.

  • HT201364 I am unable to download a purchased copy of lion or moutain lion

I am unable to download my copy of lion or moutain lion in order to upgrade my 2006 macbook!

What is exactly is the problem?
If you are signed into the Mac App Store with the same Apple ID that purchased them then they should be listed under the Purchases tab and be available for download unless they are already on the computer then it will say "Downloaded". In that case they will most likely be in your Applications folder. If not use Spotlight to find them.

    Upgrading to Lion
You can purchase Lion at Apple's Online Store. The cost is $19.99 plus tax.  It's a download. You will get an email containing a redemption code that you then use at the Mac App Store to download Lion. Save a copy of that installer to your Downloads folder because the installer deletes itself at the end of the installation.
         Lion System Requirements
           1. Mac computer with an Intel Core 2 Duo, Core i3, Core i5, Core i7,
               or Xeon processor
           2. 2GB of memory
           3. OS X v10.6.6 or later (v10.6.8 recommended)
           4. 7GB of available space
           5. Some features require an Apple ID; terms apply.

  • HT201364 Xserve (Early 2008) with Snow Leopard 10.6.8: How far can I upgrade ? Can I upgrade to an OS X Server version? Is any OS X Lion version compatible?

How far can I upgrade ?
Can I upgrade to an OS X Server version?
Is any OS X Lion version compatible?

Open the Mac App Store and try downloading Yosemite. If you get told it's incompatible, the computer's also incompatible with Mountain Lion and Mavericks; if desired, choose About this Mac from the Apple menu, check if the computer has at least a Xeon or Core 2 Duo(not Core Duo) CPU and 2GB of RAM, and if it does, click here and order a download code for Lion 10.7.
Back up your data and check your applications for compatibility before upgrading. In particular, Mac OS X 10.7 and newer don't support PowerPC programs such as versions of Microsoft Office prior to 2008.

I am using the os x 10.7.5  how can i get the mountain lion in order to upgrade to Mavericks

What, specifically, is your Mac model?
MacBook Pro, but need the year it was released, processor speed, etc. This will determine if it *can* be upgraded further.

  • HT201364 1 currently have iOS X Lion 10.7.4 on my MacBook Air. I have downloaded an update marked 10.7.5 but cannot intel it. an error message interrupts the installation. my final destination is OS X Maverick. what do I do to upgrade and get to Maverik

I have tried several times to upgrade from iOS X Lion 10.7.4 to 10.7.5 without luck. Installation stops halfway with an error message. So, I cannot migrate to Maverick. What do I do?

You do not need the Lion 10.7.5 update. Just download and install Mavericks 10.9.2 direct from the App Store and install it over the top of your current version of Lion.
And don't forget to make a full backup of your system before upgrading.
    Cheers
    Pete

  • HT201364 how do I uninstall OS X Mavericks and revert back to OS mountain lion?

how do I uninstall OS X Mavericks and revert back to OS mountain lion?

You can't uninstall an OS X version. You would have to erase the drive and reinstall a prior OS version. That's why you should never upgrade without having a backup.
However, just about any router in the world should work with Mavericks, without the need of any DVD supplied software.

  • HT201364 what is a os x mountain lion

what is a os x mountain lion

It is the previous major OS release to Mavericks. Despite the point designations, and that they are all called OS X, the first point number indicates a major OS release. The names went along with them pretty much "just because". Though it does help to keep them straight instead of only using the numbers.
    10.9 Mavericks
    10.8 Mountain Lion
    10.7 Lion
    10.6 Snow Leopard

In fact it won't run Snow Leopard either. Again see the system requirements. So I am thinking you either don't know the operating system you have or you don't know what hardware you have.
    Best of luck.
