It is not that you are not worthy rather it is your Macbook2,1 that is incapable of handling Mavericks. The latest OS that your Macbook will support is Lion (OS X 10.7.x). The oldest Macbook that can handle Mavericks is Macbook5,1 (Aluminum Late 2008). Apple has for many years maintained a 7 year support window before a computer is declared obsolete and no longer supported. This is the seventh year in the Macbook2,1 lifecycle.

  • Why does app store ask me to update apps multiple times?

For the last couple of days app store's been asking me to update an app, I.e. skype, facebook, twitter.
but when I do the update, the info is exactly the same as the update the previous day and the app hasn't altered in the slightest.
Anyone have any ideas on this?
    Thanks

Do a search for the apps that are asking you to update and see if there is any other app showing up in the spotlight search. Example is if you search for Twitter and see another app under twitter named something else. If you do see this, I would suggest deleting the app that is showing up and reboot your device to see if you are still getting the update badge.

Why does App Store always crash when I try to open the appliction?

You don't have the typical symptoms that I associate the following issue with (normally the error kicks in just when folks visit the Store), but just in case try gn_id's suggestion from the following post:

  • Why does App store take me to a different country store, yet does not return me back

Why does App store take me to a different country store, yet does not return me back.
Im in u.s., was searching for app, was asked to change store, i did, tried downloading canadian app, was informed i had to purchase from u.s. store (is this true, even though it is a free download) then it left me there without instructions on how to return to u.s. store.
Now ipad is stuck in canadian store. How do i return to u.s. store?

You have to find an app that is only available in the US store.
If the problem is on an iPad, etc:
Go to a search engine (like google) on the iPad/iPhone Safari and type in abc app download. Then find find a link that says iTunes.apple.com/us/app/abc-player. Tap it, and it will access the App Store. Eventually, a box should pop up that asks you if you want to switch to the US store. Confirm that, and it should bring you back to the US store. You don't need to download the abc app.
    If on a computer:
I haven't confirmed it yet, but I believe there is a flag icon at the bottom of the iTunes Store main page similar to the one at the bottom of this page that you can use to change your country.

  • Why does App store kep reverting to german?

Why does App store on my Ipad keep reverting to german? Have treid sevreal times to change it and it does state on settings etc UK.

The language of the two stores (iTunes and the App Store) aren't controlled by Settings and they can't be changed - they will be in the language of the country where your account is based (if they aren't correct then try logging out of your account by tapping on your id in Settings > Store and then log back in).

  • How do I remove an old username from the app store when using the update function

How do I remove an old username from the app store when using the update function.
I purchased my Mac used.  The former owners username prepopulates when I try to perform the updated function on the app store.  It does not allow me to use a different user name.    I have created my own username and password.  I have even been able to purchase items from the app store, it's just when I use the update function it does populate with my username.  Any help is appreciated.

The first thing to do with a second-hand computer is to erase the internal drive and install a clean copy of OS X. You — not the previous owner — must do that. How you do it depends on the model, and on whether you already own another Mac. If you're not sure of the model, enter the serial number on this page. Then find the model on this page to see what OS version was originally installed.
    1. You don't own another Mac.
If the machine shipped with OS X 10.4 or 10.5, you need a boxed and shrink-wrapped retail Snow Leopard (OS X 10.6) installation disc from the Apple Store or a reputable reseller — not from eBay or anything of the kind. If the machine has less than 1 GB of memory, you'll need to add more in order to install 10.6. Preferably, install as much memory as it can take, according to the technical specifications.
If the machine shipped with OS X 10.6, you need the installation media that came with it: gray installation discs, or a USB flash drive for some MacBook Air models. For early MBA models, you may need a USB optical drive or Remote Disc. You should have received the media from the previous owner, but if you didn't, order replacements from Apple. A retail disc, or the gray discs from another model, will not work.
To boot from an optical disc or a flash drive, insert it, then reboot and hold down the C key at the startup chime. Release the key when you see the gray Apple logo on the screen.
If the machine shipped with OS X 10.7 or later, you don't need media. It should boot into Internet Recovery mode when you hold down the key combination option-command-R at the startup chime. Release the keys when you see a spinning globe.
    2. You do own another Mac.
If you already own another Mac that was upgraded in the App Store to the version of OS X that you want to install, and if the new Mac is compatible with it, then you can install it. Use Recovery Disk Assistant to create a bootable USB device and boot the new Mac from it by holding down the C key at the startup chime. Alternatively, if you have a Time Machine backup of OS X 10.7.3 or later on an external hard drive (not a Time Capsule or other network device), you can boot from that by holding down the option key and selecting it from the row of icons that appears. Note that if your other Mac was never upgraded in the App Store, you can't use this method.
Once booted in Recovery, launch Disk Utility and select the icon of the internal drive — not any of the volume icons nested beneath it. In the Partition tab, select the default options: a GUID partition table with one data volume in Mac OS Extended (Journaled) format. This operation will permanently remove all existing data on the drive.
After partitioning, quit Disk Utility and run the OS X Installer. You will need the Apple ID and password that you used to upgrade. When the installation is done, the system will automatically reboot into the Setup Assistant, which will prompt you to transfer the data from another Mac, its backups, or from a Windows computer. If you have any data to transfer, this is usually the best time to do it.
Then run Software Update and install all available system updates from Apple. To upgrade to a major version of OS X newer than 10.6, get it from the Mac App Store. Note that you can't keep an upgraded version that was installed by the previous owner. He or she can't legally transfer it to you, and without the Apple ID you won't be able to update it in Software Update or reinstall, if that becomes necessary. The same goes for any App Store products that the previous owner installed — you have to repurchase them.
If the previous owner "accepted" the bundled iLife applications (iPhoto, iMovie, and Garage Band) in the App Store so that he or she could update them, then they're linked to that Apple ID and you won't be able to download them without buying them. Reportedly, Apple customer service has sometimes issued redemption codes for these apps to second owners who asked.
If the previous owner didn't deauthorize the computer in the iTunes Store under his Apple ID, you wont be able to  authorize it immediately under your ID. In that case, you'll either have to wait up to 90 days or contact iTunes Support.

    Hello,
I would like to strongly recommend that you update your version of Flash Player to our currently released version (17.0.0.169) and enable auto updates.  The version you are using is insecure and opening your computer (and all of your data) to being easily exploited by bad guys.
As for the error you are receiving, this is most likely a restriction from the website.  Each developer is able to specify what the required minimum version of Flash and require their users to have at least that version installed.  The detection that is occuring and the message that you are seeing on the website isn't part of Flash Player, but instead part of the website's code.
If you go to this page and click the "Check Now" button, what is displayed (OS, browser and version number)?  Do you see the "tree" animation playing below?

  • Why does app store keep asking for sercurity code

Why does the app store keep saying invalid sercurity code when I keep putting in the right code?

    Hello!
It might sound strange at first, but it might be related to your cookie settings in Safari. To see if this is true, open Safari and proceed to the Safari prefences by clicking on the Safari menu - to the right of the classic apple-menu -  and choosing Preferences.
    Click the Privacy tab.
Make sure your cookie-preferences are NOT set to "never" or "block always"
Set to your preferred cookie option, restart your computer once, and see if your issue has been resolved.

  • Why does App Store take so long to provide updates?

Like many Mac users, I've taken to purchasing software through the App Store. I'm now beginning to wonder whether that's terribly wise!
    Three apps are classic examples.
On App Store, CCleaner is at version 1.03.131. The current version, as of 7 July (it's now 21 August), is 1.04.148. Still no update.
On App Store, Gemini is at version 1.1. The current version, as of 8 August, is 1.2. Still no update.
On App Store, Mental Case is at version 2.3. The current version, as of 16 August, is 2.3.1. Still no update.
And if I have three such cases on my computer alone, I'm imagining there must be more.
What are other people experiencing? Has anyone heard of any reasonable justification from Apple? Should I, as I'm seriously thinking of doing, refrain from purchasing from App Store until this sort of thing is sorted out?
I'd be grateful for any feedback. (Speaking of which, I have sent feedback to Apple via their feedback page, but they don't have a specific section for App Store, so I had to use the OS X bit.)
    Cheers!

First, and with no disrespect intended, I think we're having a discussion, not whining.
Second, I've checked with a number of developers about this, and with Apple (and it is not straightforward to contact Apple about these types of issue).
Apple takes your line, Hackintosh, saying that it's up to the developers to send in their updates to the App Store in timely fashion.
However, when I investigated with the developers of some of the apps that were slow to update, every single one informed me that they had supplied the update to Apple but it hadn't been passed on to consumers yet. In one case, we were talking at least a month of wait time. The developers of a couple of apps actually got me to send the App Store receipt to them and then provided me with another serial that would work with a download from their website, to bypass App Store.
Perhaps some developers are slow to provide the updates to Apple, but I'm also pretty sure that isn't always the case, and that there are bottlenecks in the App Store process.
Interestingly, in this and other forums, there are increasing numbers of consumers that are refusing to buy from the App Store until issues like this are resolved. I'm taking a middle path. I'm not happy with slow updates, but I'm still buying certain products from the App Store and living in hope that the updates will come on time.
    Some do, some don't.

  • Why does App Store show i haven't bought mountain lion???

I've bought the OX X Mountain Lion and truly installed. But I enter the App Store again. I see the price tagged on the Mountain Lion software which means I haven't bought yet? At the same time, I check the Purchased page on App Store. I can't find any purchasing record either. Anything else I bought is showed up. Why??? Please help me to solve it. Thanks a lot : )

Same thing has happened to me. I purchased and installed Mtn Lion (on this MacBook Pro). I even installed it on my home Mac mini. However, when I went to the App Store, it was not listed it in my Purchases list, and it has a purchase price button on the Mtn Lion app page. I restarted the computer(s), signed out & back in w/ correct Apple ID, trashed preferences, asked it to check for unfinished downloads, tried on other computers (one w/ Mtn Lion, one w/ Lion installed)...nothing worked so far.
Then I stumbled on the answer...
Go to the top Menu bar > Store and click on View My Account (accountname), then enter you password. In the following dialog window, you should see listed Hidden Purchases under the iTunes in the Cloud section. Click on the View Hidden Purchases and the next screen should show Mountain Lion as hidden...simple click Unhide. It should now show in your Purchases list as well as offer Download button on Mtn Lion info page.

  • Why does App Store keep opening on it's own

It comes and goes, but when using certain apps that have ads ( for me it's usually my wallpaper apps) the App Store will automatically open like I had touched an ad.  It's usually a King game like candy crush or something, but I won't even have my finger on the screen at all when it does it sometimes.  It gets bad enough that whatever I'm trying to do at the time becomes impossible.  It will open app store, I'll close it by double tapping and going back to where I was, and it'll happen again within seconds.  It's getting really annoying.  Anybody have a fix for this?

    Reset the device:
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
If that doesn't help, tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings

  • Why does App Store update ask me for someone else's Apple ID?

I have 14 Apps that have updates available.  I was able to update a few using my Apple ID.  However, the rest all pop up with a message asking for someone else's Apple ID and Password when I click on Update.
I know this person but all the apps were downloaded using my Apple ID so I do not understand why it is asking me for his password and showing me his Apple ID.
I have tried signing off and back on but still get the same results.  This is fairly new problem.  I used to be able to use my own Apple ID to upgrade the apps on my phone.  But not anymore.  I do not have this person's password so I am unable to complete the update.
Any ideas on how to change this behavior?
    Thanks
    Pvtbear

Those apps were apparently purchased on the other person's Apple ID or were transferred to your computer from the other person's computer. Those apps are not registered against your Apple ID. Either you use the Apple ID and password of this other person or you purchase the apps using your Apple ID.
It's simple enough to check your Purchases page in the App Store to see if these apps are listed for you.
