HT201365 Find my iPhone problem

After iOS7 was updated in mi iPad, Find iPhone application is not working properly. For instance one of my iPhone that also updated to IOS7 version disappeared and the other one that it had not been updated it is giving wrong location in the map. What would the problem?

Unfortunately, unless you know the Apple ID, there is absolutely nothing that can be done, you cannot use your mobile device. You may be able to find your Apple ID at Look up your old and forgotten Apple ID

IOS8 FIND MY IPHONE PROBLEM

Ever since installing iOS 8 I get an e-mail every time I use Find My iPhone. It says "Your Apple ID was used to sign in to the Find My iPhone app on a new device". But, I am using the same device - my iPhone 5, that I always use. This has happened every time I sign to Find My iPhone since updating to iOS 8. With the earlier software this did not occur.

Before IOS 7, I created an account on my wife and childrens iPhones, iPads and iPod devices with my iCloud account, only having the Find My iPhone function turned on. It worked great. Now, with IOS 7, it is not working and I don't have the option to have the Find My iPhone function on my iCloud account on their devices. Does anyone know how to make this work? My family loses their devices frequently and I am concerned I won'e be able to help them find them. Thanks!!

They only need their main iCloud account to have Find My iPhone on. If your account is not their main account it won't work. Only one account can enable that function on a device. They don't need to have the app on their devices unless you want them to find you.
If you can see the devices when you log into their accounts on your Find My iPhone app they are being recognized by the app. But as Winston said if they're not turned on, if they are not on a network, cell or wifi, then they will read as offline. This often happens when I look for my wife's phone when she is at work, her wifi system there does not keep the connection active when the device goes to sleep and in some areas of the building there is poor to no cell connection. And sometimes the service just doesn't pick them up for no obvious reason.
iOS 7 has several annoying glitches right now that hopefully will be resolved soon and this could be one for you. I would try this again by having all the devices in one location , restart all of them, make certain the function is enabled on all of them and that wifi is connected ( if you have a wifi network available ) or that they are connected to a cell network with a strong signal. Then launch the app on your phone and log in with their accounts, their locations should show up.

Serial number & Find my iPhone problems

Hey everyone,
So my iPhone had stopped charging. Now I brought it to an Apple Store and the Genius there had reassured me that they will gladly replace it. HOWEVER, the serial number on my device and the serial number on my phone were totally different. The serial number that my device was registered to was to some person in another country, which confuses me. If I were to get the replacement it would have to be under the carrier of the device (AT&T) however I am with Rogers. Another road block was that my phone was not disconnecting from Find My iPhone, which in order to replace, was needed to be done. I only ever sign into my iphone with one apple iD and dont sign into others. I have no clue what I can do.

If a thief turns off the mobile data {under settings} on the Iphone it cannot be located by the 'Find my Iphone' site. It simply shows it as off line.
Is this true? If so how will you find the iphone?

The Find My iPhone service is more for finding lost devices and less for stolen ones. But the new iOS 7 has added features that make a stolen device hard to take over, if at all. For older iOS versions, there's always Restrictions (Settings>General) that you can use to prevent thiefs from taking control.

Find My Iphone Problem - am I out of luck

Travelling. Looks like I lost my iPhone.
Luckily, I remembered that I had set up the "Find My Iphone" app on the phone.
Unluckily, I can't seem to find a trace of the program on my laptop. I know I set up everything on the phone itself, but I must have screwed up in installing the software on my laptop.
Am I out of luck? Is there anyway I can find a general idea of where my phone my be. Thanks.........B

There is nothing to install on your laptop for find my iphone. Just go to icloud.com and login with your apple id to track your phone.

Try going to Settings>iCloud and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your data will still be in iCloud). Then see if Find My iPhone will accept your password, allowing you to disable it and sign back into your iCloud account in Settings>iCloud.

HT204053 I have another Apple ID from when I originally set up this iPod, now I can't reset it as I am also set up with Find My iPhone which may have been doen by mistake I have been in contact with Apple itself and they can't fix the problem so far

i have originally forgotten my pass code for a new iPod Touch, now I have with Apple's help reset it to factory, my issue is due to the change in my Apple ID , the iPod will not let me set it up under the new Id or the old one.I also have been set up with find my iPhone and I don't remember if I did this or not, could have been the grand children trying to help out. You never logged into iTunes?
Your AppleID & Password for iCloud& iPhone should be the same AppleID &Password you used to log in here and post a message.

ITunes has a problem finding my iPhone on wifi after iOS 6 update

Since updating to iOS 6 on Thursday, I've been having problems with iTunes not finding my iPhone on wifi. I'm not having this problem with my iPad, which is first gen so no iOS update. Sometimes the phone will show up on the list when I start iTunes, most of the time it won't. I am also getting repeated pop-ups from Windows telling me that "ATH.exe has stopped working". The pop up shows up even after I click the button for "Close Program". I've tried stopping and starting the Apple Mobile Device Service. This led to the phone showing up on the list but the pop up frequency has actually now increased (not that that's necessarily related).
I do not have problems with the phone showing up in the list or syncing the phone when it's physically connected - it works exactly the way it's supposed to if it's plugged in. And I can deal with having to plug it in to sync if I have to but these constant popups are starting to drive me batty and I don't want to have to deal with them until the new iTunes comes out next month (assuming the new version will fix whatever the problem is anyway).
I am running Windows Vista 32-bit, iTunes 10.7.0.21, iPhone 3GS.

I've got the 4S and I see you have the 3GS; this isn't a device issue evidently since your post is the first that I see is NOT a newer device. I'm in total agreement on your post as well - there is absolutely no rhyme nor reason for all this and the pop-up is to the point of syncing via the cable is worth NOT having this "ATH.exe" error.
Further I have uninstalled and reinstalled everything, as per all the support forums, yet to sync via WiFi, I have to stop and start the Apple Device Service countless times. As I stated earlier, by the time I start/restart the services, it's just easier to throw it on the cable and call it a day....
One would think, by now, that Apple would be on this however I hve yet to see an Apple post as to a resolution. I suppose we will just go batty together!!! If I hear or find anything, I'll hunt down this post and post the info I've found. Thank you for reporting this so Apple realizes we're not losing our minds nor is it a Vista/Windows issue. iTunes10.7.0.21 is being used & this only started after the iOS 6 update... GRRR!!!!

How can I fix the problem when I can't completely erase find my iphone from my mac? It says "pending erasa find my iphone until your iphone connect to the internet". My iphone already connected to the internet and it still doesn't work. Anyone have idea?

Actually I want to restore my iphone from my mac but I can't because it says "go to icloud settings on your iphone and turn off find my iphone before restore your iphone". Somone stole my iphone 4s and I used the remote procedure "find my iphone" but the device appeared offline. In any case, if it were connected to the internet I would come back a signal. The problem is that then I accidentally clicked "remove find my iphone" and therefore there aren't any more device, so I think that the thieves could use the device with no problem. There is no way to undo this?

No, you cannot undo it.
