Since my update to ios7 I can't purchase anything from the App Store? How do I fix this?

Tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings
Then restart your iPad.
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red "slide to power off" slider appears, then swipe the slider to power off.
Then press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.
Then try the App Store.

    Either that or you can just buy an iTunes card and put it on the account. I've have itunes account for a long time so maybe this plays a part in it but I don't have a CC tied to my account. I have the option to choose "none" and that's what I have it as. I used to have a card on there years ago but I removed it and never had to have another on it. Any purchases I make come from iTunes credits (iTunes card or credits I got from redeeming rewards).

    I go onto the App Store, and update something. It then comes up with a message telling me that I have to check my billing information. I've entered all my personal credit card details correctly, but then tells my that my payment method is invalid. It doesn't just happen with paid stuff, it happens with FREE stuff too. I've bought lots of games off the App Store before, and there's been no problem with my payment method, until now.

    Try logging out of your account on the iPad by tapping on your id in Settings > Store (Settings > iTunes  & App Stores on iOS 6) and then log back in and see if it then works.

    How can I purchase products from the app store while travelling outside my country of residence? We are from Canada, travelling in the USA and wish to buy a TV series but get a message to buy it from the Canadian store. When we tried to do this we got the same message.

    According to the terms of sale, you have to be in your country of residence in order to make a purchase. I've heard of people able to make purchases outside their country and also of people being unable to do so. It appears that Apple's enforcement is not 100%.
    In order to buy from the U.S. iTunes Store, you would need to have a valid billing address in the U.S., a credit card billed to that address or an iTunes Gift card purchased in the U.S. and be physically present in the U.S. at the time of purchase.
    International copyright law is currently very inconvenient for the consumer.

    When you set up your Apple ID, did you enter a credit card?  That's usually all you need to do.  Even for free apps.  Also, the credit card need to be issued in the country of the App Store you use.  Now, there is a way to set up an Apple ID without a credit card, but it's (IMHO) a good idea to have one on the account incase you ever do want to purchase a paid for app, or want to make an in-app purchase.  I've had a CC tied to my Apple ID for several years now.  Not once have I had a charge that wasn't mine or any billing issues whatsoever.

  • My account balance was deleted and now I can't purchase anything from the iTunes Store

    I redeemed a $100 gift card about a month ago, used barely any of it and now the balance has been deleted from my account. I added another $40 in gift cards today and still cannot purchase anything from the iTunes Store. A red message pops us telling me to contact iTunes Support. How can I:
    1) Recover my account balance?

    Try logging out of your account on the iPad by tapping on your id in Settings > Store (Settings > iTunes  & App Stores on iOS 6) and then log back in and see if it then works.

    That cryptic error message might mean that the payment information in your account is invalid. Check with your credit-card issuer to see whether a charge was denied. If not, see below.
    Please read this whole message before doing anything.
    This procedure is a test, not a solution. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
    Step 1
    The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is localized to your user account.
    Enable guest logins* and log in as Guest. Don't use the Safari-only “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac.”
    While logged in as Guest, you won’t have access to any of your documents or settings. Applications will behave as if you were running them for the first time. Don’t be alarmed by this behavior; it’s normal. If you need any passwords or other personal data in order to complete the test, memorize, print, or write them down before you begin.
    Test while logged in as Guest. Same problem?
    After testing, log out of the guest account and, in your own account, disable it if you wish. Any files you created in the guest account will be deleted automatically when you log out of it.
    *Note: If you’ve activated “Find My Mac” or FileVault, then you can’t enable the Guest account. The “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac” is not the same. Create a new account in which to test, and delete it, including its home folder, after testing.
    Step 2
    The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party system modifications that load automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, by a font conflict, or by corruption of the file system or of certain system caches.
    Please take this step regardless of the results of Step 1.
    Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards, if applicable. Start up in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. You must hold down the shift key twice: once when you turn on the computer, and again when you log in.
    Note: If FileVault is enabled in OS X 10.9 or earlier, or if a firmware password is set, or if the startup volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
    Safe mode is much slower to start up and run than normal, with limited graphics performance, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain models. The next normal startup may also be somewhat slow.
    The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
    Test while in safe mode. Same problem?
    After testing, restart as usual (not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of Steps 1 and 2.

  • I did the latest download for my iPad and now I can not download anything from the App Store or iTunes.  Please advice how I can fix this problem?

    I downloaded the last update on my iPad and now I can not  download from the apple store or iTunes.  I just sits there and continues to act like it will but nothing happens.  And then it times out and goes back to home screen.  Have  a 32 so have have plenty of room.
    What would you advice I do?  I purchased this iPad in dec 2013.

    Double tap your home button to bring up the most recently used apps.
    You'll see the app icon below and a screen shot of the app page above.
    With your finger swipe the app page above the app icon upwards to fully close the apps (you should do this regularly).
    Now, reboot your iPad.  Press and hold BOTH the power and home buttons at the SAME time until the Apple Logo appears, then let go of both buttons and your iPad will restart.  You won't lose any data or settings.
    When your iPad comes back up, see if you can download again.

    This has been happening to a few people right after upgrading. Just wait and give it some time and you will get the updates. The other thing you may see for a while is that there are updates available, which in fact, have already updated previously. THose go away magically on their own.
    If you're feeling impatient, you could try to sign out of the App store from your Apple ID then sign back in. Not sure that's really helping anyone, but it may.

  • Using IOS 6 on iPad 3 I now can't download anything from the App Store

    I keep getting the message "Can't connect to the iTunes Store" when trying to download a new app, update or music. It never happened with IOS 5. Wi-fi is especially sloooow now also. Used to use both Chrome and Safari browsers, now only Safari works. The Facebook app worked for a few days and quit. Other apps that require web connection return a message telling me "unsupported device attempting connection". The new Siri doesn't work because it can't connect. I'm excited about spending all of that money for a dust collector. Yes, I have done restart, reset and restore.

    Well, this did not work.  I was able to use the App Store once then had the same problem again.  It lets me sign in to my account, then when buying or updating the little circle spins forever.
    I've run the combo update 6 times and only had it work once.
    What else can I do?
    Reinstall Snow Leopard?
    Install Lion?
    One weird thing, when I make a clone then reboot from the clone App Store works just fine.  I can then clone it back to my internal drive.  A lot of work to get updates.  Why would it work on my external USB drive and not from my main drive?
