HT201365 I lost my iPhone and I didn't have the find my iPhone turned on , is there anything I can do so people can't use it or get into it?
I lost my iPhone and I believe someone has found it but hasn't returned it I never turned on the find my iPhone is there anything else I can do to find it? The reason I believe some has it Is because of my pictures on my iPad they took pictures and must have uploaded them cause I now have pictures of kids. What can I do.. I do not know these kids
Without Find My iPhone turned on, there is not a lot you can do. Sounds like you didn't have a Lock Screen lock on either. Thre is nothing to prevent the thief from using it. They will not be able to resotre it, and if they try, it will then lock them out with an Activation Lock that will completely disable the device.
You need to report it to the police, change your Apple/iCloud/iTunes password, and contact your carrier to suspend servce to the device.

If MobileMe / Find My iPad wasn't set up on it before it was lost, then no, unfortunately there is no way to locate it.
If it was stolen then it should be reported to the police. He should contact his carrier so as to cancel the sim. Also as a precaution he should change his iTunes password, his email account passwords, and any passwords saved on websites and in emails/notes etc -

Hmmm not familar with MACs recovery systems ... but depending on how long ago it was deleted the problem you have is you're still writing to the disk all this time ... so the chances of getting a proper recovered file is getting smaller and smaller ... because of the possibly of being wiped or written over ...

I have recently moved here from the UK and this is my 3rd Iphone to have been stolen. I do not have any remaining insurance claims left through Verizon. Pleae please tell me there is a way of locating the device. Thanks in advance.
Without the Find My iPhone function enabled on your device, the only possible way would be to:
1. Report the theft to local law enforcement. Provide them with the serial number/IMEI or MEID number.
2. Try to manually locate the device by calling it, and hope that someone answers, and that they are an honest person.

And again, the downloadable app has nothing to do with making your iPhone discoverable by find my iphone. The app is used by a device to find another device which has had the trackable feature enabled in its iCloud account settings. Simply having the app on a device does NOT make that device trackable. In order to be able to find a device, you need to have an iCloud account on that device, and you need to enable the find-my-iPhone setting under that account - nothing to do with the app at all. -

Did you have Find My iPhone enabled on your iPhone in its settings? If so, go to www.icloud.com and use your Apple iCloud ID to use the Find My iPhone app.

My daughter lost her iphone. I can locate it with verizon family locator, as it is still working, but this doesn't pinpoint it well enough for us to find it. She did not have the find my iphone in icloud turned on when the phone was lost. Is there any way to change the settings on her phone from a pc so I can turn this on?
If the iphone is a device which is using the iOS 7.0.4 then the 'find my device' is turned on by default. With this being said if you will go to www.icloud.com and login with your apple id login which is assocaited with the device icloud will pinpoint the device within a 10 meter radius.

If the device has been connected to your computer and a backup was saved, open the itunes program and click edit>preferences>devices
This will show the date and time of the last backup you created, hover the cursor over the backup and it will show your serial number.

You don't need the App but you must have turned on "Find My iPhone" in Settings > iCloud.
If you have "Find My iPhone" enabled then you may be able to locate it. If not, you cannot locate it. If it was enabled then you can try locating it via http://icloud.com on a computer or the App "Find My iPhone" on another iDevice. Note: this will only work if your device is connected to a network and the device hasn't already been restored as new and/or "Find My iPhone" has not been disabled on it. Hello, someone stole my sons IPhone today in his gym class. I have the "find my iphone app" on my phone BUT he is not a listed device. I went into his itunes account and downloaded the "find my iphone app" app under his account. When I try to log into "find my iphone" under his name on my device I get an error msg involving icloud......he is MUCH better at this stuff then I am BUT he is in school and now I need to figure out how to use the "find my iphone app". PLEASE HELP
It doesn't matter whick account you use to download the app.
You have to sign into the app (or iCloud.com from a web browser on your computer) with his Apple ID & password.
Find My iPhone will only work if it was enabled in the iCloud settings on the device and it was powered on with a connection to the internet -

I want to tell you that I am very disappointed because I just read that in photo stream my photos are stored only for (30) thirty days.I didn't know that and I didn't have the time to save them on a device.
I was robbed of mobile before (3) three days and I lost 2.000 photos!
Is there any possibility to retrieve them?
If it was possible that would be great as I would save them immediately to my computer instead of losing them again.
