My daughters ipod touch 5th generation screen is stuck.  It reads IPOD Disabled connect to itunes.  HELP!

Have you considered connecting it to her computer running iTunes? That would seem to be the logical first thing to try...
It's in recovery mode because someone incorrectly attempted to enter the passcode too many times. It must be restored using iTunes.

where can i get my ipod touch 5th generation screen replaced for, like, $50 to $60 dollars? I broke it a few days ago and so far havent been able to find a place to repair it. Also,it would be best if the place was online, because live in a small town with virtually no places to get this done. If you could help that would be sooo amazing! Thank you!

  • Twice experienced an unusual problem with my iPod touch 5th generation running iOS 8.0: crashes and disables power up. HOME and POWER pressed together to reset.

iPod touch 5th generation running iOS 8.0. iOS crashed twice, disabling power up. The only recovery was pressing and holding the home and power buttons together for several seconds. The iPod touch then went into restore mode. I've never experienced, heard or read of an iOS crash preventing normal power up: device has known battery charge, does not respond to pressing power button or connecting to AC charger.

    That happens some times. Try:
    - Restore from backup. See:
iOS: Back up and restore your iOS device with iCloud or iTunes
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem/it still keeps recurring, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

  • Ipod Touch 5th Generation will not turn on, restore, or show up in itunes unless in DFU mode.

So a friend gave me his Ipod Touch 5th gen because he couldn't fix it himself and he bought a new one, and while I'm stoked to have a near brand-new Ipod touch, it's also frustrating me to the point I'm ready to give up on it aswell and pass it down the line. I'm not sure what he did to it, he says it just stopped working but you never know.
Anyways, the problem is that it simply does not turn on regardless of what I do to it. When I plug it into the computer, it gets warm; usually a sign it's charging fine. However, it doesn't show up on Itunes. I read some forum posts and searched around other places aswell, and tried putting it into DFU/Recovery(not sure which is which anymore, it's the one where you hold down the power button for 3 seconds, then home+power for 10, then home button for 20). It showed up on Itunes, and said it needed to restore. I downloaded the 1.2gb update it needed, but then it hung at the "Waiting for Ipod" progress bar. As it does this, I get maybe 3-5 Windows 'bing' sounds of a connecting/disconnecting device, ending on a disconnect sound. Itunes eventually times out the restore with an error code 4005, which I read means the Ipod has been disconnected in the middle.
After this, it doesn't show up on Itunes and I have to repeat the process to get it to show up again. I tried it a third time just now and it's still doing the same thing.
Any ideas? Really at the end of the line on ideas I think.
    Please and thanks,
    -Cody
P.S. I don't know if it matters but the warmth is coming from the top/camera end fo the Ipod. Not sure where the battery is versus the CPU, but maybe that'll help the diagnosis.
P.S.S. Also, when it shows up in Itunes in recovery mode, it doesn't show a serial number, so I don't think an Apple store would even work on it without a serial #.

If there’s an issue with the USB port, cable, dock, or hub, or if the device becomes disconnected during restore, try troubleshooting the USB connection, then troubleshooting your security software.
To narrow down the issue, you can also change up your hardware:
    Use another USB cable.
Plug your cable into a different USB port on your computer.
Try a different dock connector (or no dock).
Add (or remove) a USB hub between your device and computer.
Connect your computer directly to your Internet source, with no routers, hubs, or switches.
If you checked your connections and are still seeing the error message, check for hardware issues.

Try to restore your iOS device two more times while connected with a cable, computer, and network you know are good. Also, confirm your security software and settings are allowing communication between your device and update servers. If you still see the error message when you update or restore, contact Apple support.
    Try on another computer.
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • Why does my Ipod touch 5th generation 32GB   have problems syncing with the latest version of itunes?

lately My ipod touch, 5th generastion 32gb has difficulty whenever i try to sync it with tht latest version of iTunes. When i go to sync it immediately claims that over 10gb has dissipated into this "Other" section. to fix that i have to do a factory reset, however after the reset has finished and while i am trying to re-sync my music on to my device the sync gets stopped toward the end saying "Waiting for changes to be applied" for hours on end. even then it does not sync. So currently i am unable to use the ipod tough for what it was built as in the first place, a music player. currently i am ratherdissapointed and i would like to find some answers to this problem because this problem is extremely irritating and it has kept me from using the ipod for what i mainly use it for in the first place, music. Ever scince the latest version of iTunes, where the icon became red, i have bee having this major problem. I suggest you work to find an answer to this Problem and fix it ASAP so i can get back to enjoying my portable music player.

  • Can i get an iPod touch 5th generation if I turn in my ipod touch 4th generation

full working 4th generation ipod touch 8gb. it has a lot of scratches and a minor dent but no cracks and full working condition

If you're in the US, places like Amazon and Best Buy will purchase your device from you and give you store credit. The 'how much' depends on the condition of the device and what model it is. May or may not get more than if you just sell it, but, presuming you're getting a comperable replacement, that 10% discount is 20-30 dollars or so. So you may be able to get more if you resell it.

  • IPod touch 5th generation doesn't: turn on, charge, reset, or respond to iTunes. What do I do?

There's no damage to it, all the button work fine. One day it just stopped working and now I don't know what to do.

    Try:

    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.

I should also inform you that the home button is broken so i cant reset. I tried to restore from itunes but it says "Find my ipod must be turned off from the ipod to restore". I obviosly cant turn it off if my screen is frozen. I dont know what to do ...    Btw my warrenty is already used.

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
Ignore the reset and when it says place the iPod in recovery mode
Place the iPod in recovery mode using one of these programs:

least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Reset all settings

  • Ipod Touch 5th Generation overheated now wont turn on

I have the ipod touch 5th generation. When I charge my ipod i always leave it alone and often have a battery app open. Today however when I was charging my ipod it overheated and now won't turn on. I have left it and it has completely cooled down but still wont do anything. Please help me if you have any idea on what to do. I have tried to restart it and put it into recovery but it wont do anything. when i connect it to the computer it doesn''t show up in itunes or in my computer and nothing will come up on the screen of the ipod. I don't have an apple store near me so would be happy for any advice that could help.

    Try the remaining actions of:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

However, I suspect a hardware problem based on the heating and the Genius Bar is very likely required. If you iPod is defective and not abused you will walk out with a replacement.
