Check security software and ensure that communication to gs.apple.com is allowed. Follow these stepsfor assistance with security software.
Check the hosts file. The restore will fail if there is an active entry to redirect gs.apple.com. Follow theadvanced iTunes Store troubleshooting steps to edit the hosts file or revert to a default hosts file. See "Blocked by configuration: (Mac OS X/Windows) > Rebuild network information."
Try to restore from another known-good computer and network.
If the errors persist on another computer, the device may need service.

how do i unlock a orig. iphone thats been disable due to, to many incorrect passcodes being enter and says connect to itunes.
First try holding down the lock and home button for 15 seconds while your phone is plugged into a power source. If that doesn't work then plug it into your computer.

I conected my iphone 3gs to Itunes It says there was an update so i agreed it also recommended I do a back up so I agreed. then half way through the process it failed and a message popped up saying unable to contact server try again later. and alls I have on the phone now is a picture indicating to plug into itunes.
Any Clues ???? as when I plug in it says I need to restore the phone and it fails again. it was working fine before I did the updateIs this phone locked to a cell carrier?

My seven year old daughter got an ipod touch a few months ago from her father. She has now forgotten her password and it has been tried too many times and so the ipod has been disabled. It now say connect to itunes. I have tried to do this with the USB cable and itunes on my computer. Unfortunately it will not work as it will not connect saying the device is locked and to enter the password.
This is not the computer that she previously connected to and she may not be able to get access to that computer. Is there a way for us to reset the password preferably without having to restore the ipod and lose everything she has on it?Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.

If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.

My son has disabled his iphone 4 and it says it needs to connect to itunes. When I try to connect it, I get a message telling me that it can't connect because the iphone is lost. I tied erasing the phone on cloud but it still needs to conenct to itunes so this does not work. I have tried restoring the phone but partway through, the phone tries to connect to itunes again and I get the message that it is lost and the disabled message comes back up on the screen. I cant plug it into my itunes because my laptop is being fixed.. but even if when it comes back all the data will be lost so if I restore my iphone everything will be lost because I have no backed it up with icloud. I need a way of fixing it without losing the data in my phone.. if there is one.

Close All Open Apps... Sign Out of your Account... Perform a Reset... Try again...
Reset ( No Data will be Lost )
Press and Hold the Sleep/Wake Button and the Home Button at the Same Time...
Wait for the Apple logo to Appear...
Usually takes about 15 - 20 Seconds... ( But can take Longer...)
Release the Buttons.. -

in a nutshell ...
1. i had a 4S
2. screen broke
3. bought new 5c
4. BUT sprint couldnt transfer data from 4S b/c i couldnt swipe my passcode in b/c screen was broken
5. i was annoyed b/c i had photos/videos/notes that i wanted
6. only contacts were on cloud
7. fast forward 3 months, my very thoughtful girlfriend got my screen repaired
8. ONLY i couldnt remember the passcode!!!! after like a ton of tries my iphone is disabled and says connect to itunes
9. i have never synced w/itunes but tried anyway
10. i tunes said couldnt read data b/c phone was locked; enter passcode!!! but DUH i cant enter it b/c it's disabled
11. i fear the only thing i can do is restore, which i believe erases all data ...
is there anyway to put my sim card in an iphone 4 to get the pictures (mainly) off? or like an adapter to read SIM from a laptop? or sprint store??

No problem! Just follow these instructions-
turn your device completely off
UnPlug it from your computer
Hold the home button (square button)
Plug your device into computer while still holding the home button
Hold until iTunes says it detected a device in recovery mode
Hit restore at the top
Done!
