Hi, so I'm not sure his this has happened but I have deleted my disk utility. Now I'm attempting to do an uninstall and a reinstall snow leopard, please help us !!!!

If you have OS X 10.7 you shouldn't get a copy of Disk Utility from 10.6 (and might not have it). If you don't have a copy of the 10.7 installer to use Pacifist as Niel suggested, you can hold down the Command + R keys while booting up to enter the Recovery partition if your Mac supports it, and choose the Reinstall OS X option.

Mac OS X, except for incremental updates, which this forum is about is not available for download (you can download the update from 10.4 to 10.4.7 for instance, if that's what you want, but you can't download the full 10.4.7 from scratch). Macs can run the operating system they came with or newer retail operating system up to what specs allow. Macs can also run Linux, though Mac OS X is itself very much like Linux as it has both an XWindows environment and a simple ANSI terminal with a bourne shell into its FreeBSD based command line. So the question becomes what you are going to try to run on your computer?

Hello, your best bet would be to clone your drive to an external drive, which will be bootable.
Get carbon copy cloner to make an exact copy of your old HD to the New one...

You're not likely to see any updates show up for 10.5.x
The very first MacBook 1,1s can actually run 10.6, which is updatable to 10.6.8, but will only run in 32 bit mode on yours.

How can I get a boot-disk for a Compaq P2500 laptop Windows XP Home Edition?

I'm already in another forum with a eerily similar question, but that's for the HP Media Center Pavilion m8000e desktop system (Windows Vista Home Premium) I was just given; I've ordered a new hard drive for that. I assume the directions to create a boot disk with the *.iso file (using Imgburn) is going to work; I have the 25-digit code for that.
This question here now is for my wife's older Compaq P2500 2596US laptop running Windows XP Home Edition. This too needs a new hard drive, but I also am missing the boot disc for this; I do have the 25-digit product code.
How can I get a boot disk for this laptop? I tried the Ubuntu method outlined in a few posts; geez, what a headache ... never could get it managed. Does HP not make any boot disks available? Microsoft told me to check with HP.
I can furnish the product code; model #; serial# ... gee, maybe the oroginal receipt is even laying around somewhere ...
I need a boot disk to get the new hard drive up on board (if I end up ordering that).

No DV port in camcorder. Just a yellow AV port/hole. I did find a Canopus ADVC110 device in a box that was bought several years ago to convert VHS tapes onto DVD's. Can I use this with a Mac? Could I connect a dvd player to the Canopus and transfer the disks onto my Mac? Or, connect the camcorder via AV port to the Canopus and that to the Mac and transfer that way? Thanks again!

OK, at least 3 is working.
I don't know how you have a Tape Recorder icon on your Home Screen. I cannot add one myself. But, I am running Holo Launcher in replacement of the default LG "Optimus" User Interface. It's much better in my opinion.
Try long pressing the icon and select Edit and maybe you can change some attribute of the icon.
Another thing you could do, is long-press an empty area of your desktop, to add an icon. Select Shortcut, then Select Contact, and scroll through your contact list and choose the contact that you added for *86.
You realize if you have voice mail you haven't heard, there is a tape recorder icon in the notification bar, which you touch and pull down, then press it to dial voicemail.
If that functionality doesn't work, you MIGHT want to consider doing a factory data reset on your device, but that is going to nuke all your personalizations and cause you work to set up again.

You can't. Theoretically, Thunderbolt devices that only transfer video and audio should work with Mini DisplayPort MacBooks like yours, but it's not the case of the Thunderbolt Display. Its firmware doesn't allow it to be used with non-Thunderbolt Macs, so you can't use the Thunderbolt Display with the Mid 2010 MacBook Pro.
Instead, you have to look for another screen, or you can get an adapter and connect the MacBook Pro to a TV

Copying files is not a good idea.
The "other Mac" was backed up onto Time Capsule using the Time Machine. On your new Mac you should restore the old user - rather than copy files manually.
This usually happens during the initial setup of the new computer or you can do it later using Migration Assistant.
Please note, it is possible to damage backup file on the Time Capsule when you browse it and copy files manually.

Are you confident (in that case) that you can do the repair yourself? Perhaps you should let a professional select a screen and install it for you.

If you can plug an external display into it then click the top left Apple icon and select "About This Mac" for CPU identifiers etc.
