my iphone was fine last night and i put it on charge before i went to bed, woke up this morning and my phone was dead and hasn't come on since and i've tried putting it on charge for hours and still won't come on, anything you can do to help this problem?
The Basic Troubleshooting Steps are:
Restart... Reset... Restore from Backup... Restore as New...
Restart / Reset
http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1430
Backing up, Updating and Restoring

If you try all these Steps and you still have issues... Then a Visit to an Apple Store or AASP (Authorized Apple Service Provider) is the Next Step... Be sure to make an appointment first...

ABC player , though downloaded, is not working. Cannot reinstall. Was fine last night. ???
You've gone through all of the basics. You might look at this document regarding potential issues with wi-fi environments.

If none of that works, and if a device restore doesn't work, it's time for a trip to the Genius Bar. -
I was away for 3 weeks and just got back. Put my Mac on charge and after 4 hours it still won't come on. Help

Had turned off all power supply incase a socket blew. (happened before) so my mbp was on sleep
You should have turned your MBP off! Keeping it on sleep w/o use for 3 weeks makes no sense. As others have already stated, you will need to take your comp to a repair shop. More than likely you need a new battery. -
Getting gray triangle warning on webmail.maine.rr.com; other sites I use are secure. Is this a Mozilla issue or TWC?
By the way, the gray ! triangle indicates that although the main page was loaded over a secure connection, some content in the page, typically an image, was loaded over a regular connection.
Do you notice any unusual content in the page? Sometimes a bad add-on will insert extra ads into a page and can trigger the mixed content warning. To investigate a possible bad add-on, here is the process I suggest:
(1) Open the Windows '''Control Panel''', Uninstall a Program. After the list loads, click the "Installed on" column heading to group the infections, I mean, additions, by date. This can help in smoking out undisclosed bundle items that snuck in with some software you agreed to install. Take out as much trash as possible here.
(2) Open Firefox's '''Add-ons page''' using either:
* Ctrl+Shift+a
* "3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons
In the left column, click '''Plugins'''. Set nonessential and unrecognized plugins to "Never Activate".
In the left column, click '''Extensions'''. Then, if in doubt, disable (or Remove, if possible) unrecognized and unwanted extensions.
Often a link will appear above at least one disabled extension to restart Firefox. You can complete your work on the tab and click one of the links as the last step.
Any improvement?
(3) You can search for remaining issues with the '''scanning/cleaning tools''' listed in our support article: [[Troubleshoot Firefox issues caused by malware]]. These on-demand scanners are free and take considerable time to run. If they finish quickly and especially if they require payment, you may have a serious infection. I suggest the specialized forums listed in the article in that case. -
I had sound on my computer last night but when turning on this morning there was no sound. It is not muted. Any suggestions. Also, when I try to run an event in IPhoto as a slide show, it shuts down.
Just to clarify, does iPhoto unexpectedly quit or does your computer shut down? For the sound problem, try here:

Hi, I've never had a problem with Entourage until this morning when i powered up.. receiving "you can't open the application microsoft entourage because powerpc applications are no longer supported"
If you're still running Entourage, I would suggest upgrading to Outlook, part of Office for Mac 2011. Even if you're able to run Entourage, and it sounds as if you were, it's just not Lion or Mountain Lion friendly.
Just my 2¢...

Last year, I had problems with my phone and they said I did not ahve the applecare plan. I finally proved that I did; and the worker promised it was in the system. This year, I have been put on hold (once for an hour only to be told that it was not office hours by a recording), numerous times because the regular phone people cannot do anything about the Applecare plan even if I have it in my hand. I can give all the information you need. I made an appointment last night and they called in the middle of the night, wihch is perhaps my fault due to a time difference, but on the phone today I booked one appropriately for tonight and thye did not call. My phone is broken and I feel as though Apple's quality in customer service simply isn't what I would expect. This process should not be stressful or as lenghty as it is.

The keys that no longer work are on the lower row, from Z~/ (plus the left-most Command key and the space bar on the bottom row). System is iMac (Intel), about five years old, running 10.5.8 (happily), with a wired keyboard (with number pad).
Solutions tried (all without fixing the problem):
- change to another keyboard
- change keyboard(s) to another USB port
- reset SMC (twice)
- reset PRAM (twice)
- switch to another User Account
Kind of running out of ideas ... Anybody have any suggestions?Other things tried:
- checked all the options in Universal Access, to make sure none of the 'Sticky Keys' etc. were activated
- booted from the Install disc ... still no go. Even then, the same keys don't work.
Looks very much like a major hardware fault, I guess ... -
.... it asks 'What photo library do you want to use?' and asks me to select from a list but provides no options, though previously it automatically opened and showed all my events/pics... any advice very gratefully received please!
Thanks Terence. A very basic f/ip question I'm afraid as I'm new to the Mac; could you talk me through how to find/restore from my backup?
Nothing in pictures which makes me think I must have accidentally deleted it - so I'm hoping a restore from backup could be the key to recovering it. -
Can you help me
go to tools and options to clear the history, cache, and cookies. This has helped me in the past to get POGO going again.

I can't get my trackpad on my MacBook to click. It was working fine last night.
I'm not sure if its the battery expanding (but since it was fine last night), it could be the battery expanding.
Apple representatives told me that the battery expands to let us know the battery needs to be replaced and when it expands the enlarged battery won't allow the trackpad to click, when your pressing it.
Clicks also won't happen when the area under the trackpad gets dirty.
Does anyone know if there is a way to check to see if the battery is good without taking the MacBook apart? Also, there is no error Exclamation Point, on the top right of the screen. That happened to my MacBook Pro, as well as an inability to click the trackpad.
Any advice is greatly appreciated, SeanKaneoheSean wrote:

That's just not correct. Swelling in the battery is caused by overheating of one or more cells in the battery, followed an exothermic chemical reaction of the anode (usually lithium cobalt oxide). It can cause simple swelling or even complete failure in the battery (including fire). It is NOT something by design to tell us that the battery needs to be replaced. It is a runaway thermal process in the battery.
Minor swelling might be ignored with no further issue. When in doubt, have the battery checked by Apple or an authorised repair centre. -
Hi,
in the Offer it says: "Get any CS6 tool or Adobe Touch App†, plus two new HTML5 apps, and create anything you can imagine".
Does this mean, and I'll call it the MSDN answer, "Get any or all of our applications ?"
or is the TOOTHPASTE answer: "you get ONE (and only one) of our applications, plus two free HTML5 applications?
I would like to get the latest Photoshop Extended and After Effects; the first year offer price for exsting customers makes it a very atractive way of doing this; maybe :-)
thanARKHi, WaccaWacca,
It means "any or all" if you upgrade your current Creative Suite to the full Creative Cloud subscription, you would get to download and install all the products in Creative Suite, Touch apps and several services including TypeKit and Business Catalyst. Go here for specifics on the special upgrade.

my iPhone was stolen last night and I'm trying to recover all my photos from that phone and get them on my mac laptop. The iCloud photo stream only imported 1,000 photos from my stolen phone. How can I retrieve all of my other photos?
You have to reset the device to Factory Settings in order to restore it from an iCloud backup. You probably want to back it up as is before you do this.
To do the reset after you have backed up the current device, go to Settings>Reset>Reset all Content & Settings. This will erase the device. If you are signed onto iCloud with Find My iPhone turned on, go to Settings>iCloud and scroll to the bottom to sign out of iCloud before you do the reset.
Once you have reset your device, you will set it up like a new phone. When it asks if you want to restore it from an iCloud backup, select the backup you want to restore it from.
Cheers,
