My iphone would not ring with incoming call despite ring tone was set up using sound setting. In the beginning, it did ring. After a while it stops working. Any idea to make it work again?

Start with your finger at the bottom of the screen (about even with the home button) and swipe in an upward motion. There should be a row of icons at the top of a grey field. if the quarter-moon icon is bright white, tap it. If it was (and still is) dark, take the iPhone in to be evaluated by a qualified technician.

If you cannot remember the passcode, you will need to restore your device using the computer with which you last synced it. This allows you to reset your passcode and resync the data from the device (or restore from a backup). If you restore on a different computer that was never synced with the device, you will be able to unlock the device for use and remove the passcode, but your data will not be present. Try restoring the iOS device if backing up and erasing all content and settings doesn't resolve the issue. Using iTunes to restore iOS devices is part of standard isolation troubleshooting. Placing your device into recovery mode:

     1. Disconnect the USB cable from the iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, but leave the other end
         of the cable connected to your computer's USB port.
     2. Turn off the device: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the
         red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for the device to turn off.
          If you cannot turn off the device using the slider, press and hold the Sleep/Wake
          and Home buttons at the same time. When the device turns off, release the Sleep/Wake
          and Home buttons.
     3. While pressing and holding the Home button, reconnect the USB cable to the device.
         The device should turn on. Note: If you see the screen pictured below, let the device
         charge for at least ten minutes to ensure that the battery has some charge, and then
         start with step 2 again.
     4. Continue holding the Home button until you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen.
         When this screen appears you can release the Home button.
     5. If necessary, open iTunes. You should see the following "recovery mode" alert:

If you don't see the "Connect to iTunes" screen, try these steps again. If you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen but the device does not appear in iTunes, see this article and its related links.

Contact names not showing with incoming calls!!!

Hi all,
I just got my E71-1 yesterday and upgraded from a very effiecient E61i....everything was going smooth until all of a sudden, contact names stopped appearing with incoming calls and SMS's.
I went through the forums searching for a solutions and apparently alot of people experienced the same thing.....except in my case, I do not have any duplicate names or numbers!!!!
Any ideas what could solve this???

There is a fix for it but you won't like it. I have tried it a few times and it always works but it involves a lot of work. This is what you do.
1. Make a backup of nothing else but your contacts only.
2. Delete all your contacts from both phone and sim card.
3. Start by entering the troublesome contacts from scratch making sure not to duplicate any numbers.
4. Now get those people to ring you to make sure that your CLI is working fine.
5. If it works then start entering the rest of the numbers, once again making sure there is no duplication whatsoever.
6. If it doesn't work, just restore the backup you made of your contacts.
I am fairly sure it will work, but just in case it doesn't you can always restore your backup and you are back to square one.

Curve 9360 not ringing with incoming calls

Good day. I am using a Blackberry Curve 9360 Smartphone.
Hope you can help me, I have inadvertently ticked the "All Alerts Off" option instead of the "Silent" option.
The phone rejects my attemps to change it back to All Alerts on, with a reply "Alerts Off cannot be editted or deleted"
There's a red tick mark next to the icon, and the icon is also highlighted in red.
The "Normal" option is ticked at the moment but the "All Alerts Off" option remains the same.
Incoming calls go straight to voicemail without a ringing alert, and a sms informs me of a missed call.
Please advise me how to resolve this problem, URGENTLY !!!!

That is strange indeed...typically, only one profile at a time can actually be active...from what you describe, both Normal and All Alerts Off are active at the same time...not normal. Lets try this...
Anytime random strange behavior or sluggishness creeps in, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes. See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure.
Now try to reset your sound profile as you desire.

After I loaded Yosemite, it told me my iPhone would not sync with it. That's why I have an iPhone. What the **** do I do?

Is there any way to get my current iPhone 4 to sync with my MacBook Pro now that I have Yosemite? I am not buying a new iPhone just because of this squeeze play. Do I have to remove Yosemite and go back to Maverick in order for my iPhone to work? Will plugging it into my computer manually still work?

Volume keys will not work with incoming calls on headphones

So the headphone that came with my iPhone 4s, and others of the same type I have used, will not allow me to lower the volume of the caller. I would be listening to my music or something, it could even be at 50% volume, however the incoming call pushes it to 100% and will not allow for my headphone or iPhone volume control turn down the call. I have to unplug my headphones and just talk on the phone its self in order to turn down the volume.
This problem was first noticed in iOS 6, and is contiued into iOS 7. I do not recal it happening in iOS 5.

TTY was on after going through the settings one by one. They need to explain what TTY is within the settings menu. I have been useing TTY for 2 years now not knowing it.

IOS 5.1 Update Issue: Contacts exist, but do not appear with incoming call or text

Alrighty; I just purchased the iPhone 4s and last night was prompted to upgrade to IOS 5.1. After doing so, I noticed today any incoming calls from one of my contacts would not display the name (the number was displayed as if it was an unknown call). However, text messages displayed contact information. I was playing around with it and based on suggestions elsewhere I added a '1' before some numbers. Upon doing this, an incoming call would display the name of the caller but incoming texts would not. A call to support directed me to call Verizon (my carrier) for 'some sort of three digit code' which would correct the issue; alas, Verizon had no clue. I'm at a loss and any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Not only the Verizon version unfortunately. We have the same problem here in some parts of the Middle East. I have heard reports from Kuwait and Bahrain, and I'm located in Oman and the problem exists here as well. And no solution except downgrading the phone back to iOS 4.3.5.

Can't hear my 8830 ring with incoming calls

I've checked my settings to make sure it 's on "tone" and loud with my ringer, and ensured it was not on mute. However, whenever my phone rings, I can't hear it, no sound comes through. I've been missing lots of calls the last couple of days cause it rings with no audio.

Phone does not ring with incoming call

My iPhone 4 is not ringing -- and it's not set to silent or vibrate. I believe this may be a cell reception problem as sometimes my voicemail isn't available either. I tried turning the **** thing off and restarting it but that didn't help. I am ready to ditch the iPhone, which I love, because of its poor reception capabilities. Any other ideas out there? Help!

That would be fine, razmee, but my carrier AT&T says it is doing the best it can do. I am in a rural area and 1 mi away from 3G service. Sometimes my reception is ok and sometimes not. In the meantime I am trying to find a work-around as I am not sure if 1: the problem is caused by poor service and 2: if it is, are there any solutions.

IPhone 5 works fine with incoming calls and audio books but no one can hear me talk.

I have an add-on blue tooth system in my older Prius and it worked perfectly for a couple of years. I can still receive phone calls and listen to audio books through my radio speakers but all of a sudden my callers could no longer hear my voice so I have to switch the phone audio source to iPhone so they can hear me. Hi, Did you test to see if after 2 or 3 mins the phone started working correctly? mine does then it will work for a day or 2 on every call then I have to do the same thing again.
